Chapter 24

“A moment ago, you were dead set on this. What’s really going on?” I asked as I sat down next to him. I had an idea, but I wanted to hear it from him.

“I am just really scared. It just hit me. You brought me here to serve a purpose. But if we do this, I might not be around anymore. I could disappear, or even die. You heard Francesca, we just don’t know. I’m scared, and I just can’t shake it.” Angel wiped some tears away before continuing. The words weren’t coming out easily, so in a show of support I wiped away a few of them myself. Yeah, I was angry at him, but he was still a part of me. Dare I say a brother.

Maybe I should have been freaked out a bit more. Heck, I just had a clone appear out of thin air. But for some reason, seeing Angel sitting there, sad and scared, made that all go away. Perhaps I was a bit more in tune with him than I expected.
