Elder's Council

The elders were pleased indeed to meet Latyurik in Hollow-tree Hall that eve. Chedrex welcomed his grandson into the meeting chamber with a face beaming pride. The other Elders gave their greetings and words of congratulations, then gestured for him to sit on one of the many floor cushions like themselves.

"Well done," said Detrazu, bowing to Rik his head, so that the young shifter could see the stripes of gray flowing over the elder's thick brown hair.

"Yes it was," replied Latyurik, coolly.

"Did you catch sight of Aeisha, Hunter or Keysean at any point?" asked Nyeleried.

"No." Latyurik frowned as if put off. "But if I may, I will give my tale."

"Yes, do," said Chedrex, scanning the faces of the other elders, seeing only mild curiosity. "Even I myself remain ignorant of the exact details."

The others nodded and thus Latyurik began; "I set out alone after having received my peace from the Gathering."
