1 Prologue

The rays of the sun are hitting her face. She smiled as soon as she gets up and stretches her arms. She stood up and walk towards her balcony, where the overlooking field of flowers can be seen. She closes her eyes, feeling the breeze of the air, letting her hair be drawn to the dashing wind. As soon as she opens her eyes, the adoration of flowers can be seen.

When she turned back, she saw the vase in her side table filled with all the colors of the rose. She walks towards her bed and sat, admiring the roses. She picked up one of the roses and reviving the scent that made her fall in love more. She saw the letter, hidden underneath the vase. She smiled while reading it, letting some of the droplets of water fall from her eyes.

My Dearest Zariyah,

Here's a blush rose,

with a raspberry scent.

Here's a pink,

come taste the edge.

And here, my dear,

upon the stair,

is simply the hip

of a white-blue rose

I've carried up

to bed. —L.L. Barkat

You know how much I love you right? You made me feel like I'm in the field of roses, lying beside you. You make me the happiest among the happiest person who is alive right now. I love you, baby, I really do. I am looking forward and is waiting for the right time until I can spend my whole life with you.

I love you, Zariyah.

She heard a knock on the door that's why she managed to dry away her tears. She folded the letter and put it inside one of the cabinets. She hushed down and stood up, dusting herself. Someone opened the door and smiled at her, standing at the doorway.

"Baby? You're awake." She looked at the man wearing a white button-down shirt and black boxers. His hair was messy but has the most perfect smile who looks good with his perfect white teeth. She nodded and gave him the sweetest smile.

"Let's eat, breakfast is ready." The man offered his hand and looked at her, waiting for her to hold it.

As soon as she stepped to walk towards his direction, the image of the man disappears slowly. Zariyah screamed and moved back when she saw what happened but it doesn't make any changes after all.

"Baby. The food will be cold. Let's eat." As she starts stepping again, the arms and legs of the man are vanishing.

She shook her head and screamed once more. She tried to run towards the man's direction but as soon as she got there, no one was standing there, waiting for her. She knelt down and bowed her head, crying and screaming.

"Zariyah. Wake up! Why are you screaming?" Zariyah sat down, breathing heavily.

"It was a dream," she told herself while sobbing.

"He's in your dream? Again?" she nodded and hugged her mom who is giving her the tightest hug.

"Hush baby. He loves you. He'll be back, for sure. For you." Zariyah continues sobbing.
