Chapter 2

I look at the avatar in front of me, and the first thing they offer me is the race. I quickly searched the [Mummy] race and read the description. Seeing it is the same, I smile and pick it up. After I pick the race, a blue panel appears in front of me, and I can see my avatar, and this time, I can customize it.

After a couple of minutes, I'm done and press the confirm button.

|You have chosen [Mummy] as your race. Now, please choose the world for you to start your journey. There are nine worlds to choose from: Asgard, Alheim, Vanaheim, Nidavellir, Midgard, Jotunheim, Niflheim, Helheim, and Muspelheim.|

Now, this is tricky. There is no introduction to the world on the website. They only listed the world but did not say anything about them. I know a few of them from my previous world knowledge. I know that Midgard is a human world and something that I need to avoid because I have a feeling they do not like the undead.

The same is true with Asgard, as they are the place of gods. When they see an undead, I will be toast.

Niflheim and Muspelheim are the world of the giants. One is cold, and the other is hot. Niflheim is maybe a place I can choose because that place is cold.

However, there is a place that is perfect for me, Helheim. If my memory is correct, that place is the underworld realm where undead roam around. I picked this place.

I blink a little when I see a map appear in front of me. I can see four green circles across the map. I think they are the safe zones in this world. There are only four of them here? Or do I need to explore more to unlock them? Interesting.

I think for a few seconds before picking the safe zone called [Gjoll's Shore] and press the Y button.

After that panel, I appear in front of a massive abandoned village.

I think for a second and start to type.

Wilhelm… that is my previous name. The name that was given to me by a loving family from my previous world. Some might say I should not dwell in the past, but I want something to remember.

|The World Tree, Yggdrasil, is dying. A long time ago, the world tree had countless leaves, but this changed when a World Enemy appeared and ate almost all of the leaves of the World Tree. This creature continues to eat the leaves until only nine leaves are left. This creature continues to move and try to devour the last leaves of the World Tree. Stop that creature, Wilhelm! Stop it before it can eat the World Tree!|

After the panel disappears, the world starts to move once again. I move all my limbs to test the water, and seeing I can move, I walk toward the Safe Zone. As I walk to the Safe Zone, another panel appears in front of me.

|You walk into a Safe Zone! This Safe Zone will be your spawn point! With this, the tutorial is complete!|

I quickly searched for [Necromancer], and after a few seconds, I found it. After choosing the [Necromancer] class, my equipment changed. I now wear a robe, and a skeleton staff is in my hand.

I open my status window and check my skills.

That is a lot. Let's start with my racial traits, as it will not change anytime soon. [Disease Immunity] and [Death Immunity] are obvious. They give me complete immunity to that kind of negative effect. [Death Immunity] will completely nullify any Instant Death effect.

Those two are a great starting point. However, the other two are dangerous for me.

[Good, Light, and Holy Vulnerability IV] and [Fire Vulnerability V] will make my life harder. The first one is coming from a Holy Warrior, Cleric, or something like that. I'm good as long as I did not encounter any of them.

The second one is the most problematic. [Fire Vulnerability V] makes me take 200% damage from any fire-related attack. That is a problem because fire is a common element.

Fuck it. I will think about it later. [Beginner Necromancer] is good because as long as I'm within a certain range of my undead, I can activate this ability to give 5% of my stats buff to my undead.

My racial spell, [Cursed Touch], is an emergency thing. It is my healing spell that lets me absorb the opponent's HP when I touch them. Sadly, I needed to touch them, and the mage-type did not get close to the enemy.

[Summon Undead 1st] is the summoning spell that lets me summon one zombie minion to attack an enemy. [Magic Arrow] is your typical low-level spell that any newbie mage gets after getting into the game.

After reading all the descriptions and looking at my staff, I nod. Let's start hunting and grinding. I leave the safe zone and walk toward the graveyard hill in the distance. While walking to the graveyard, I summon my minion and order it to guard me.

We stop when I see a red dot on the map, and I order my minion to attack. The zombie dog starts to charge at the wandering skeleton and attack it. I quickly cast my [Magic Arrow] and hit the skeleton right in the head.

That attack alone managed to reduce its HP to half. That's good. I wait for my cooldown and cast once again when it is over. The skeleton falls to the ground and disappears, leaving a potch of gold, a small crystal, and a small bone.

I walk to my loot and pick it up. That is one of many mobs that I need to kill.
