11 Chapter 11

*Crick, Crick*

The soldier hidden behind the tree freezes in fear.

One of the monsters started slowly approaching it's way towards his direction.

The sound it made whilst approaching was revolting, as if something was being squashed to bits every time it made a step.

Then, the soldier carefully used his armour technology to look behind.

A freakishly long slender monster with what seemed like several arms and legs, was making it's way through sluggishly.

It strangely had it's whole crooked body full of them in a spiral formation.

*Crick, Crick, Crick*

Without warning, the monster abruptly started to pick up the pace and darted closer towards the tree he was hiding behind.

*The soldier now shivering like crazy, layed flat across the forest floor and started crawling frantically*

*Screech!*

The monster let out a high pitch deafening sound and started racing towards the area as if it knew where he was.

Soldier now starting to cry in fear, shot up and initiated a full speed dash.

*Swarm of creatures nearby turn their attention to the soldier*

*High pitch scream*

"HELP!!!" Cried the soldier

"SOMEONE HELP!!!"

*Scene concentrates on the soldier's thoughts*

[Soldiers POV]

"SHIT, I'm about to get killed by these hideous monsters"

"HOW DID IT EVEN FIND ME ANYWAY!?"

I was well hidden and camouflaged.

I even goddamn layed still without making a sound!

I don't wanna die yet, I still have so many things I wanna do in life.

If it weren't for this shitty organisation that I joined, I would've been living life in peace with my family! I grunt in anger

"Man, what am I thinking, this isn't the time for all this, I need to think about how to survive this goddamn situation first"

A thought then appeared in my head

"Wait! What if that monster chasing me found me through a different type of means?"

I didn't make a sound nor did I show myself, there has to be a way it found me!

I need to check what it looks like again.

I looked down and used my body shield to activate a mirror which also acts like a radar.

[Spacial mirror activated]

"WHAT IN THE FUCK! IT HAS NO EYES AT ALL, WHERE ARE IT'S EYES!?" I scream

Then I see a dip down not too far off on the right side of me.

Wait is that a slope down there? I asked myself.

I dashed as fast as my legs could carry me towards the dip down.

On reaching, I looked down to see a long slope down with thick bushes and tall trees

"Perfect!" I rejoiced

"I need to buy some time before this freak gets to me"

[End of POV]

*Soldier jumps down the slope*

*Creature not too far behind him leaps down the slope just a few seconds later*

"This thing is so bloody persistent!" He screamed.

*Scene of soldier hiding in thick bushes with the monster lurking by*

"It's looking around, scanning the area."

"WAIT, it just locked onto me out of nowhere"

*Soldier starts to leg it out the bush with the monster chasing him again*

*Monster lets out another high pitch scream*

"IT CAN'T HAVE SEEN ME, IT HAS NO EYES, IT PROBABLY HAS SOME SPECIAL SENSES."

"But wait, it can't have the ability to sense other living creatures, it hasn't even considered going for the other animals in this forest!"

"Unless..."

*Soldier then tosses a spherical object in a different direction*

The monster unfazed by what he threw, continued pursuiting.

Then unexpectedly, the object he threw started glowing red, as if it was heating up.

At the same time, it started to rapidly grow in size.

*The monster then diverts it's attention towards the object and glow and stops*

*Screech!*

Another horrifying scream was let out and the monster frantically manoeuvred towards the glow at an alarming pace.

"I knew it" the soldier smiles while looking back.

"Heat, it reacts to heat, I'm 100% certain"

"It didn't even notice the object I threw until it started to grow bigger in size and heat up"

*Soldier then stops to a halt and turns around*

"Foolish monster" He grins with a wicked expression.

*Soldier then turns around and starts walking forward again*

BAAAAM!

*An immense explosion shockwaves through the forest decimating the swarm around it*

"The object I threw, wasn't any normal sort of object" he muttered.

"It was a Grade 5 ultra grenade!"

*Scene ends with the explosion rippling through the forest and the soldier walking in front unfazed*
