1 The Academy

My head is aching so bad. As if I've fallen from a very high place and my bones are all broken when it's not. I've just woken up from a nightmare.

"Sarah!" a voice of a female. "Sarah Elloine!" and she got my attention making me turn my head.

It is Hera, the President of the Student Council of the Magic Academy. And why is she looking for me?

"Headmaster Granoule is looking for you," she said when she stop, panting. Even with her messy hair and uniform, she still look so graceful.

"Ha? Why?" I suddenly felt nervous. Grandmaster does not just call student, or even anyone, and more than that, it was Hera who is asking for me.

"I will explain it you there!" and she grabbed my hand to the Headmaster's office.

I was not able to say anything, or even refuse, and just let her grab me away.

The Magic Academy is the largest highschool here in Country A. It was divided into four departments: the East, West, North, and South where students are classified depending on their magical ability and test score.

And guess where am I? teehee~

"And what is a Moonre student doing here?" he asked and slammed the table. He is the Vice President of the Student Council, Shawn.

I forgot to mention my wing, the Moonre. It is the place for the students who got the lowest scores in the entrance test, and even the special case. In short, good for nothing students.

I remember during the evaluation day, that all the letters seem foreign to me. My mother said because of a the accident, I forgot a lot of my memories that resulted in me have nothing to answer in the exam paper. My head ached so much that my nose is bleeding and I was excuse, resulting of me getting a perfect 0. What a hassle.

What's more? During the magic evaluation, no mana is getting out from me! Not even one particle.

And because I am a good for nothing student-- with 0 score in everything, I ended up in Moonre and was nicknamed Zero.

"Yes! And it was even Zero!" the treasurer shouted and glared at me and I glared at him back.

"As if I'd like to come here!" and I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, because you let President drag you!" The VP snapped back to me when suddenly, Grandmaster coughed.

"Ehem!" and that made everyone silent.

"I called for Sarah Elloine today because she is the last member to join the Elite Expedition," he says calmly and precisely. I was going to nod when I realize what he is saying.

"What?!" we said in harmony. The Elite Expedition is group of talented students to be sent to a month long competition in the Country A. And me, from Moonre, are going to join?

"I object!" VP said, hmpf, me too!

"Me too!" I said when the Grandmaster sighed again.

"We all know the attacks that is happening in our community that resulted in Mages losing their mana," then he looked at me. "And Ms. Sarah Elloine does not have a mana affinity," he said calmly that made Shawn(VP) to interrupt again.

"Exactly! She does not have any mana within her body so how come?"he glared at me and crosses his arm.

"Why? Do I want to join?" I answered back. "Headmaster, I sincerely appreciate your offer, however, I do not want to be part of the Expedition," I firmly said.

"And you have the guts to decline?" Treasurer fired at me. Wow. These dumbasses. I know that they do not like me and I don't like them too. I cannot understand what is going on in the genius minds of them.

"Miss Eloine, you know your standing in our school. At this rate, no school will accept you if you get kicked out from this school," I flinched. He is correct. I don't even know why until now I am still at the Academy.

"If you was able to carry out this mission, you can stay here in school and greatly rewarded. However, if you fail, we have no choice but to expel you," he smiled. Scary. Creepy. Where will I get dumped if I was removed from here? And what will my good mother say?

'Ahhhh, noooo, honey, Sarah, I will work til night just so you can go to a school,' I can already hear what she is willing to sacrifice for me.

"But!" I shouted. "I don't have anything to help in the mission!"

He just smiled deeply and said,

"That is for you to find out,"

Stressful! I was shivering in anger when I came back in our classroom when suddenly Orli called for me.

She was a short girl with short hair and glasses, my only friend here.

"What?" I irritatedly asked her. I feel so irritated today.

"Wow, what a greeting! Why are you so mad??? hahaha" she giggly said. We came out and walk at the hallway when rumors from all over the place can be heard from the students.

'She was the one? Chosen for the Elite Expedition?'

'Did you know that she got 0 in all the exam?'

'The student with no mana affinity?'

We just ignored the rumors and sighed. Orli was ready to fight them but I stopped her because they were just curious. Me too! Me tooooo!

I was so deep in my thoughts that I suddenly bumped into someone. My nose suddenly bleeds but that is not the important thing right now. He is very handsome. He was blazingly red hair, and light orange eyes.

Ardalles June Redford

The most arrogant and proud successor of Redford Academy. Yes, their family own this big school, and he is the only Son of the present generation.

"Sorry," I said calmly, "I didn't mean it,"

He just frowned and was taken a back when suddenly there is fire everywhere.

"Kyah!" we both, me and Oril, shrieked.

"A trash like you must not be everywhere," he answered. He is emitting murderous aura and everyone is scared, but I am not afraid. As if I do not feel a bit scared. Like the word fear does not even exist in my heart. I don't know why.

"Errr..." when he was about to attack me, my body move on it's own and avoided it. I was shocked with what happened but I am super calm.

I can see how shocked he was that I was able to avoid his suprise attack.

'I'll get bullied from time to time because of this ugghhh'

That is why I slumped on the floow, kneel and pretend to cry because of fear.
