The start over

Chapter One

(The start-over)

It was the most beautiful sandwich she had ever seen, filled with grilled meat, tomato, onions and tzatziki sauce....gyro was what the vendor called it.Katherine ordered two of it and her mouth watered as she made her way into her hotel room, she placed her sandwich on the table and called on room service to order for wine to go with it—a gyro and wine was an unusual combo but she was in dire need of a drink. After the whole wedding fiasco, she decided to find herself and by finding herself she meant taking the quickest flight to Greece with all her bags never to return in a long time. The vivid memory of Jeremy pleading with her to stay at the airport was infuriating.....he slept with her best friend a day to their wedding....what else did he expect??

The wine came in a moment and Katherine blatantly ignored the room service guy that winked at her, after everything she had been through she was trying her best to stay away from the humans with a manhood—men. She finished her sandwich which was the best one she's ever had,had two glasses of wine, got dressed and went outside for some shopping. She had all the money to lavish,it's what having a good inheritance can do for you.

'Where to ma'am??'.The cab driver asked and she snorted loudly before answering, it took a while to notice that he was the same guy who delivered her wine and winked at her, 'Where to ma'am??'.He repeated for the second time.

'Just take me...anywhere that has a corner of clothing shops.I'm kinda new here'.She responded as the sudden feeling of discomfort clouded her emotions, something about him just felt off.

'Ohhh so you're a tourist I see...we don't usually get much of tourists in this side of Greece'.He nodded and started the engine of the car.Katherine heaved a huge sigh as she glanced around her surroundings, the pink blossom flowers hanging from the shops and the cheerful disposition of the people made her feel some type of way, even the tinging of the bicycle bells sounded like music to her ears—she felt peace. The drive soon ended shortly and she offered to pay the fare but he refused saying, 'You look like you need a break.... let loose'—It was a strange advice but one she was going to take nonetheless.

Hours gone into twilight and she was back at the hotel with a huge load of shopping bags, she bought everything from vintage to designer and now she was reading a book she found at the local bookstore 'WHY MEN LOVE BITCHES by Sherry Agrov'.A self help book she didn't know she needed to discover herself and realize she was being too 'nice' in her old relationship, she remained in her room until it was past 9 and then her phone suddenly rang—it was Jacob,an old classmate whom she hasn't talked to in two years.

'Hey J—'.

'I heard you're in Greece girlfriend'.

'Yes...who told you—'.

'It doesn't matter who.Get dressed and come downstairs....wear something super sexy'.He said in a somewhat commanding tone and hung up which made her brows crease into a frown. He went radar silent and now he wanted her to dress sexy and come downstairs?? It was annoying to say the least but she complied nonetheless and got dressed in a burgundy sleeveless gown, which was bare backed with two silver strings pulling it together. She decided to let her jet-black hair down and added some matching earrings to the lot, fixed her mascara and applied a dark red lipstick,it complimented her tanned skin and auburn eyes—Jeremy hated it when she wore red lipstick, said it made her look like a hooker and everytime she believed him....she believed a lot of things but now she was free from his shackles of control.

'Oh my bloody hell....you look like a sexy vampiress'.Jacob Cavalier hooted as his friend walked towards him,she had clearly changed from the stuck-up and controlled but oblivious about it woman he had a fight with years ago, 'Hello darling'.

'What's this about Jacob?'.Katherine sighed deeply putting on her most uninterested face ever and evading his cheek kiss.

'I heard you dumped Jeremy'.

'I didn't dump him.I canceled our wedding'.

'Still the same—Why though?? your sister didn't say'.

'He cheated on me'.

'Then we need to celebrate'.

'Why?'.

'I have been waiting for you to come to your senses mi amor—Let's go,I have a car waiting outside'.He tugged on her arm and she sighed deeply as he made the gayest walk towards the car outside the hotel—Gosh she missed him.

The plan was clubbing. The car stopped in front of a very tall building that looked like a fancy restaurant but Katherine was surprised when they walked inside to find out that it was a club—a very fancy club. The men were dressed in suits and the women were dressed like it was a lavish dinner party, however there was loud music and drinks all over, and also dancing.

'If you had told me I was going to be clubbing then I would have gladly stayed back'.She grumbled as they made their way to the table, 'This place is kind of fancy....for someone of your type'. It was definitely a step up from the man who used to jump from house to house just to lay his head.

'Ohhh it's definitely fancy but I've got connections.Let's ignore my life for a moment and talk about yours, are you staying long in Greece?'.He asked placing a margarita which he ordered in front of her.

'I'm staying long for sure but I don't know how long, maybe for a month or two'.She murmured faking a smile at the old man who whistled when he walked past her,he looked like an old mafia from one of the corny romance movies she used to watch, 'However, the plan is to have fun in my hotel room and do a little bit of touring.....you know,to get a girl go—'.

'Ohhh no no no darling, you're in my turf now and you're going to do a lot more than sightseeing.Look, that guy hasn't kept his eyes off you since we got here'. Jacob pointed out and Katherine turned around to see who it was.It was the same room service guy who also drove her shopping hours ago.
