Danny had a vigorous and young body. Something that he had not felt in decades. He was fit before the flash of light, but he was almost 50. His body was far past its prime. That was one of the main reasons why he chose Tai Chi. It could be practised at any age and wasn't strenuous. At least not to extreme degrees.

Danny had tried some moderate Tai Chi exercises and motions with his new youthful body, and he was impressed. Ulysses was truly impressive in terms of fitness. Danny was not sure whether or not he was brought here in a younger version of himself or if he was in a completely different body.

In terms of appearance, this was the young him, but the physical capabilities of this body far surpassed what Danny's body was capable of in his youth. Danny was not sure if he would keep this appearance only during the Scenario or if he would change bodies.

'After putting me in a body like mine for a temporary Scenario, I doubt whoever is responsible for this would change my body again. I like this body though. The physical traits are superb. This is probably due to all the martial art training and magic potions. Not to mention the bloodline.'

As the Prince of a magical nation, Ulysses had been fed many rare elixirs and potions since birth. He had also been trained in martial arts. Although he was not one for the front lines and liked to work from behind the curtains, he was still quite the combatant.

He had to be strong himself, otherwise inheriting the throne would have been impossible. This was the militaristic way of living for most nations in this world.

Like the others, Danny was digging a trench that was a few meters deep and a few meters wide.

There were some soldiers with magical abilities of the earth element, who were casting spells and helping with the process. Earth and water magic were very useful magics to have in one's repertoire, especially for construction projects.

Mages however were usually scholarly in disposition so they barely did manual labour. This resulted in there being fewer earth and water mages than there should be.

Those that could use the magics were mostly amateurs who had learned it to reinforce their combat abilities. To be truly called a mage, one had to be both qualified and knowledgeable. Every scientist was educated, but not every person who knew how to experiment could be called a scientist.

Spells to move the earth or soften it were being cast left right and centre. Some stretched out their arms, others used wands and other conduits to cast their spells. Some would even draw runes in the earth itself. A rare few even made small earth golems to help with the work.

After digging into what he believed to be his portion of the workload, Danny stretched his arms and took a stroll, to see the progress of his plan.

'They are moving faster than expected. I didn't know magic was this useful.'

Danny had Ulysses' memories, but they were still more like a dream. Somewhat surreal and not like they were his experiences. But he had already started to change. And he could feel it.

Now that he was seeing magic in action with his own eyes he was impressed. Countless possibilities rang through his mind, as he went over the knowledge of what he was given regarding magic.

As far as he knew, magic practitioners learned spells and strengthened themselves, mind body and soul. The process of strengthening oneself qualitatively and quantitatively through magic was called cultivation.

Warriors were the most common type of magic users in Batur and the surrounding kingdoms, with wizards coming in at 2nd. Warriors used magic to reinforce their bodies or attack through their bodies while Wizards sought to control their environment or the metaphysical. The lines between the two often got blurry, especially at higher levels of strength.

There were plenty of different types of magic users and mages, from ordinary Warriors, Paladins, Warlocks, Wizards, Necromancers, Druids and Healers. All were cultivators who grew their strength through different methods.

But learning magic required aptitude, resources and intelligence. Unfortunately, Ulysses had no aptitude. That was the case for the royal family of Batur. But they were blessed with quick strong bodies, high intelligence and sharp senses for battle.

'Once this quest is over, I need to research magic thoroughly.'
