Chapter 20: The Start of the Change

One year later...

After the incident, many things have changed...

After the fake governor died, the people of the Death Village started to change. They surrender their illegal business and started to change their life.

The people outside the Death Village accept us and give us a second chance.

The people also change the Village name to EverEase, which means "will forever lessen the burden".

Everything evolves and changes except me. I stayed at my home locking myself in my bedroom. After all these years, I still cannot stand the face of the people who died in my arms or died in front of me. I got stuck in my past and just lock myself in.

Future- 9:00 a.m in the morning, 2021

I was looking at my diary when someone came, into my room. It was the two kids, Bryan and Ava.

After I got out of the hospital and lost my memories, I went back to the abandoned house as you've already known. When I wake up I also remember why I got hospitalized and forget.

When I was out with Bryan and Ava that time, we are going home from the mall. Then, they cross the streets and tried to save the kid who got stuck on his feet in the gutter. But above them is a construction site, when suddenly a pile of woods was falling down and I have to save them.

Present- 12:00 a.m in the morning, 2009

I wake up in a dream with Bryan and Ava. I thought I was once again going to die while I save another life. I sit in my bed and then I decided to go to the waterfall to breathe. I look at my reflection for a long time, but it does not change anymore. Then, the rain started to fall from the sky. As soon as it started, I also started crying.

My heart hurts like crazy. I don't know what to do anymore and just let the tears in my eyes fall.

Then suddenly a shadow was covering the rain with an umbrella in his hand. I open my eyes and I saw George. "What are you doing here? I went to your room but you are not there so I thought maybe you could be here." He smiles. I look at him then I keep crying again hugging my lap. "It hurts so much. I don't know what to do." Then, I grab his clothes and said, "please help me. I cannot take it anymore."

He looks at my face being so worried then he replied putting my hair behind my ears, "I know it's hard to put your past behind when you feel it was just yesterday. But as long as you cannot accept it or let it go. It will continue to haunt you forever." He then put his hands in my face and let me see him.

"You are stronger than this, Ms. Alexandra. So, you can do it. Fight your fears and continue to live with the people who are still with you. Like your mother, Emma, your Uncle, and the people you've helped to change. Including yourself, you are a very valuable person, Alexandra. And I know, you know it." He said.

"You always leave others to expect more from you because that's how your father teach you and you know that because he was very proud of what you become before this. So, please believe in yourself. I... I love..." Before he continues his sentence. I stop him with a kiss. Hearing those words today is not a good time.

"I am sorry but I am not ready for this George. I just need more time..." I stand up but he grabs my hand and kisses me. I tried pushing him away but I can't, then after the kiss, he said, "I know you like me too, Alexandra but because of what happened to your father you close your heart. But... if you keep doing that at the end, you will lose more people besides you. It's not a threat but a fact. So, I hope you think about it. Here, use the umbrella. You might get sick again if you continue not taking care of yourself."

After that, he left. I was once again left alone in the woods...

The next day, I woke up in my bed and take a bath. I tried to think about what George told me yesterday and I think I must try it. I go down and eat with my mother.

"Hi mother, can I eat here today?" She looks at me then her eyes started to cry and run towards me to hug me. "Oh my dear, Alexandra. I am so glad you come down." Then she wipes the tears in her eyes and said, "I am glad you are trying" then I try to smile.

After eating. I meet Emma and uncle Ethan. They hug me tightly and I hug them back. "We are glad you are coming with us today, 3113. I mean Ezar." Then I scoff for a second and said, "I think we shouldn't use it in public anymore. Alexandra... Alexandra should be fine or Alex maybe." Then they look at each other and smile.

Have I mention you, maybe not. But, Emma and my uncle are actually dating this year.

At first, I was also surprised. I never expect them to be like that. They have also a huge age gap, but who cares. They like each other.

Then after I bond with them. I accept an invitation to interview in the municipal. Everybody is waiting for me to come like I was a very important person.

Everyone is shouting and there are many reporters trying to ask me questions.

Then, when we are inside. The other governors of the different villages were there. The Jules, the Rich, the Dome, and the Mane Village.

I did not expect that those people are also here. I shake my hand at them one by one then we sit. But the thing is, my sit... It is in the middle between all of the governor's.
