Chapter 27: Remembering the Past
There were people auction off the people in the cages or just selling them. It turns out that this city has a slave market. There were a bunch of cages numbered around 50 cages with 5 people in each cage. The cages were on both sides of the road towards the Northern Gate. There were some Beast People, Dwarves, Elves but most of the slaves were Humans. As I get closer to the cages, I see a bunch of the slave with dead like eyes that had no life in them, almost 40% of them were even children. They were still alive but its like they had no soul in them anymore. The ones with no life in their eyes had injures and bruises all over their bodies. It was like they were abused none stop for weeks.
After looking at them, I started remembering about my past. When I was a little kid, my acoholic father would usually beat me everyday but he would beat me where it could be hidden and not able to been seen by others. My mother was no where to be seen, she left my father when I was four. She abandoned me for no reason and because she left us, my father changed from the person he once was.
I was always a smart kid when I was young. I loved to learn about history, human anatomy, martial arts, war and philosphy. I loved to go to the library to educate myself from such books. I found joy in reading books and learning because it took my mind off the pain and my abusive father.
After educating myself from all of the books I read, I learned that I should never give up on myself and I should never wait for a hero to save me one day,and that I should take matters into my own hands. That's when I made a plan from a war book I once read. Where it said that guerilla soldiers would lay prepared and attack their enemies when they would least expects it. So, I made a plan and decide to take action and hold my destiny in my hands.
After my father finished beating me one day,I waited for him to turn away from me. I then took out a meat cleaver that I hidden, and cleave at both of his achille's heel which I learned about from a human anatomy book. When it achille's heels were cut, he came tumbling over. He fell, he turned over to face me, and that's when I came over to him and started to cleave his head. After 10 blows, he died and after 5 years of abuse, I was finally free.
At the age of 15, I was finally free from abuse and I felt like I had control and I never had to cower in fear again. After I killed my father, I was found innocent in court from the evidence of abuse I have suffer, and eventually I even join the army and even became the youngest Special Forces soldier.
After thinking about my past, I started to shake those thoughts away, since the past is the past, and I should focus on the future. I was about to turn away but the memories of my past self stopped me. When I look at the abused slave children again, I see my past self and I hate seeing my self in them.
I decided to change their fates because I know of the suffering they recieve and I will help them change their fate with their own hands. I then sent commands to the HIVE Satelitte to focus on the slaves and to track them all and the people who buy and sell them because once it's night time, it's terror time for these insufferable bugs.
After sending commands to my satelitte, I started walking away from the slave market. While walking away I started thinking of the fun that was going to happen to night. That when I heard a Ding.
'Ding' '1,000 Ultron Sentries have been manufactured.'
When I heard that, I then realized that I now have 2,900 Ultron Sentries at my beck and call. I have also been in this world for 3 days now.
I then head towards the nearest inn I could find. It took me 10 minutes to find an inn and it was called the Zalos Inn with the image of a bed on the sign in front of the inn. As I approach the inn, I could hear people being joyous and having fun. Once I stepped through the inn's doors, the crowd inside turned their heads towards me and once they saw me it became dead silent inside.
Out of nowhere, I felt a tug on my Akatsuki cloak, and I turned my head downwards to see what was tugging my cloak. I saw a little girl who looks to be around 7 years old in a little dress. The little girl spoke to me without fear and a smile on her face.
"Would you and your friends like to rent some rooms for the night?" said the little girl
"Yes, I would like 5 rooms for us." I said to her
"That's great. That will be...ummm." said the little girl while counting her fingers to figure out the cost of the rooms.
While I was waiting a girl who looks to be 16 came over to use after give some drinks and food to some customers.
"That will be 20 Bronze coins" said the teenage hostess
"Ok" I said while taking out 20 bronze coins and handing them to her
"Alright Anna, take these gentlemen to their rooms" said the teenage hostess while handing 5 key to the little girl named Anna
"Okay-dokey, Sista Tina" said Anna cheerfully
"Also, if you want breakfast or dinner you will have to buy it, since it doesn't come with the room." said Tina
Then the little girl Anna took us to our rooms on the third floor of the inn.
"See ya Misters" said Anna while running back down to the first floor.
