Trouble

"What do you mean you can't find him?" A teenage girl about age 18 or more frowned, staring at the officer across the counter.

"Calm down Layla, it isn't yet 24 hours since you filed a complaint so we can't count your brother as a missing person." The male officer lazily said, taking a bite out of his donut gazing through some paperwork.

"What do you mean he isn't missing? He hasn't come home since last night, he's probably been kidnapped o-or tortured now and you're not fucking concerned." Layla roared, her emotions getting the better of her as her eyes were teary. She couldn't sleep throughout last night, as her mind wondered off to all the bad things that could be happening to max.

With every second that passed her heart hurt more, knowing her annoying brother wasn't home. Her parents had left her in charge to look after max, and she'd failed while fully.

"Calm down girl.. the safety of the citizens is our number one priority, but that doesn't mean I would prioritize a teenage boy who probably went out to have fun with his friends, over more important cases." A frown formed on the officer's face, annoyed by the fact this girl obviously clouded by her emotions pestered him, for her greedy intentions.

"M-more important cases.." Layla's eye twitched, hearing those words from this incompetent bum seating across her. Standing up she then proceeded towards the exit, but not before stopping giving the male cop a long cold glare.

"He doesn't have any friends. And your all useless!" Layla shouted, storming out the door banging it hard.

"Thanks for your cooperation and have a nice day." The arrogant cop softly spoke, not batting an eye towards Layla as he continued on with his donut, sipping some of his hot coffee.

"Argh!!" Layla screamed exiting the police station, frustration and anger written all over her face. Her brother was missing, and she'd turned to the one people that were meant to protect and serve them with their lives but what did they do? Cross their arms, sitting their lazy asses across a desk all day not bothered in the slightest.

"Fuck the cops! who needs them anyways.." Layla spoke with resolve. If the cops weren't going to help her find her brother, then she was going to take laws into her hands and look for him herself.

...

'W-why isn't any blood coming out?' Jake wondered, seeing no blood flowing out from max. The knife was still stuck in max chest, but there wasn't even a drop of blood that surfaced from the wound.

'Why the hell is he this strong.' Max Inwardly screamed in his head, as he didn't expect Jake to be this strong. He'd deemed him an easy target, judging from his weak body and frail confirming his low soul which was also his hp, just added more to his confidence.

[I said his soul was low, I didn't say his strength was dummy.] Frail chuckled earning a frown from max. Using his leg max then proceeded to kneed Jake's back, sending him away from max.

[-2 soul]

'I got hurt?' Max was a bit stunned Seeing the system message flash before his retaina, stating he'd lost 2 points from his soul as he knead Jake.

"Argh!" Max grunted pulling the knife still stuck to his chest, he could see Jake had now gotten up staring at him with a complex expression. Max wasn't bothered to engage in a fight with Jake, as he had the upper hand holding a weapon.

'Huh?' Max was surprised seeing Jake suddenly take to his feet, running away from him. He'd expected the frail guy having the upper strength than him want to get revenge, for having been jumped by max. But it looked like he chose the cowards way, and fled hoping to fight another day.

[What are you doing? Your meal's getting away from you!] Frail shouted in max head, jolting him from his trance as he sprung to his feet chasing after Jake. Having low stamina, max could feel his legs giving out. looking up he could see Jake still running, about two meters away from him.

Seeing his opportunity slipping away, max put all his strength to his legs leaping a bit of the ground and falling on Jake's leg sending them both down. Not waiting max got on top of Jake who hadn't recovered yet, stabbing his arms multiple times.

"Argh.. g-get off me you fucking monster! Jake screamed, using his legs to kick max off as he attempted to run.

"Stay still!" Max yelled tripping Jake down as he crashed face first to the floor, a deep cut was made on his forehead as he writhed in pain. Max then proceeded to stab deep into Jake's legs as much as he could, momentarily disabling his movements.

'Now..' having a clear chance, max activated his soul steal ability. He couldn't feel anything instantly but soon, white mist started floating out from Jake's body into his.

'Mhmm.. it's peaceful.' Max thought, feeling the odd energy being transferred into him from Jake.

[+1 soul]

[HP remaining: 29/30]

Just like frail had said Jake's hp/soul was the same as his, he didn't expect the system to suddenly display Jake's soul but he'd guessed it was trying to keep him up to date with the progress.

"W-what are you doing to me?" Jake asked, feeling his body going weak. He didn't know why this strange pale boy had attacked him, but he didn't want to stay to find out. He'd thought it was another gang member he'd offended, now taking revenge. but looking at max, he could tell he didn't recognize him from Adam.

"Am just taking your soul." Max said in a deep voice, and for a moment he could see Jake's eye immediately turn pale.

[How original.] Frail muttered, and max could imagine his system rolling it's imaginary eyes at him.

"I-it can't be.. Lucifer." Jake softly said, looking at the sadistic teenager a few years younger than him. His eyes flashed before his eyes several times, as he imagined the horrible things the Lord of hell would do to him.

"P-please don't kill me.. I-i offer you my soul, turn me into a demon." Jake begged his eyes suddenly becoming teary, as he could feel his life being drained before his eyes.

"And why would I do that?" Max frowned. First off he didn't know how he would turn Jake into his minion if he wanted, as the only skill relating to aquiring more members was his unholy union. But that was only for females, and he wasn't yet certain how it worked. Second and more especially, he didn't have any plans on recruiting Jake into his unholy army, as he hated and despised gangsters and all associated with them.

"W-we can work together.. I promise to be of high use to you my lord." Jake panickly said, making max chuckled inwardly enjoying the scene.

"How?" Max softly asked, causing Jake to think a bit before he finally spoke up.

"Y-you eat souls right? Yeah.. I-i can get you more souls." Jake said and he could see max pause for a while, seemingly thinking about something.

'M-more souls." Max suddenly loved the idea of that, but he didn't know if he could trust this snake. It would be great, if he had someone that would supply him souls for him to feed on Everytime he wished, but the offer seemed too good to be true.

[Take it.] Frail suddenly said causing max to raise a brow.

'Why? for all I know he's trying to save his skin. He could betray me at any time.' Max voiced his opinion, and lack of trust in Jake.

[Even if did try to, he wouldn't succeed.]

'Huh? And why do you say so.'

[Cause you have me.] Frail softly said making max eyes twitch a bit, as he was about to rain down bullets of curses on frail when he heard Jake's voice.

"P-please, Lucifer." Jake slowly said, his voice becoming more weaker as he soul was being absorbed into max.

[Soul: 28/30]

Max checking his soul could see it had almost been replenished, he also checked Jake's soul as it had now gone down below 20. Thinking about it for a while max decided to accept Jake's offer, but with his own conditions.

"I'll spare your life for now, but I have a few requirements of my own. That is if you're still interested." Max grinned. Jake hearing max words felt like he wasn't asking, instead he was confirming his loyalty.

"O-of course my lord, anything for you."

"Good. I'll need to feed on your soul every now and then, so I want you to be in the best state. also I need every information you have about all the gangs within this vicinity." Max calmly spoke all to which Jake nodded.

[Soul: 30/30]

[Congratulations user on stealing first soul..]

[+100 exp for first soul steal..]

[+200 bonus exp..]

Max could see the system message flash before his retina, indicating the replenishment of his soul to the max. He also saw some other bonuses, but he just ignored them focusing his gaze back on Jake.

"M-my lord.."

"What slave?"

"I-i need a little something from you." Jake shakily spoke, causing a frown to form on max face.

"What?"

"You see, I might've offended some bad people and now they want my head.. and if they get my head my lord i-"

"First bring me souls and then I'll think about it." Max coldly said. "Oh! and don't betray me Jake." Max creepily smiled sending ice spikes down Jake's spine, as he watched the proclaimed demon lord leave.

'That was fun.' Max chuckled, he had expected a different outcome but all in all it was still to his favour. Having gotten what he wanted he was now on his way back to the lounge, as he had some other business to attend to.
