Meeting her

"Hey, what are you doing?" I say as open the door to my beautiful but devastating end.

I see a girl, not much less than my age, standing at the end of the edge of the rooftop we both are on. While walking towards her, but keeping a distance between us, she asks,

"Who are you?"

We both stand there in silence while listening to the street cars and soothing wind around us. Gosh, it feels great today.

"Jayce, Jayce Hayes" I say.

She stares at me with a blank look and I finally get a good look at her. Even though it was very dark, the city lights helped brighten up everything. She was a brown-skin with dark brown eyes. She had on a white dress that flowed like water. She had long sandy brown hair and was about 5 inches shorty than me. She was also crying, but for some reason that added on to her beauty even more.

She said, "I'm Cami Wright, sorry for the late introduction, I didn't expect to see anyone else up here."

That makes two of us.

She stepped from the edge and I let out a quiet and long breath I didn't know I was holding in. She wiped her face and came towards me. We both still kept our distance though.

I asked, " What are you doing up here?"

I wasn't sure how I'd react to the answer but I let her say it anyway.

"I just love the city, especially up here. The scenery is like a dream that you don't want to wake up from." She said it with such a calm but sad face.

"I guess I just wanted to sleep here and not wake up again. Don't you think this would be the perfect place to die?"

I stared at her in shock... yet understanding. Coming up here I thought I wouldn't regret it, but...I do. Is it because I might regret ending my life in such a peaceful place or is it because I was about to witness another person end theirs?
