The Ever Growing Army (The Dungeon: Part six)

I had to keep going. Floor after floor, slaying monster after monster. I didn't know for how long I've been inside this hell. After Minotaurs, came the nagas (half serpent - half human species), giants, centaurs, basilisk, arachni (giant spider like creatures, extremely poisonous), griffins (A creature with the body of a lion, the tail of a snake, and the head and wings of an eagle.) and what not. All I cared about was to kill each and every monster and clear this dungeon. I got so deep into the dungeon that, even monsters in it had started to repeat. I had to face the minotaurs, nightscreamers, werewolves and hobgoblins again and again. If not for the constant reminders from Nicholas, I wouldn't even remember which floor I was on, all I could think about was to kill and kill.

I had gotten quite a few weapons and armours by killing the monsters as well, I even managed to get some weapons that could be equipped by me, like THE GOLD GLADIUS, a strong blade, having exceptionally sharp edge, and runes engraved on it. It also had a decorative guard, a plain pale orange grip, and an over-sized pommel, neither too light nor too heavy, perfectly balanced and was a good weapon for a to fight something head on. This sword didn't had the attack power of Vruukor's sword, but it made up for it in various ways, for example, the runes engraved on it were it's main source of power as it absorbed the blood of the monster I killed with it and gained more and more effects such. But the weapon wasn't the only awesome thing that I gained either.

Killing monsters in this dungeon was finally paying off, now I didn't have a measly army of 200 hundred ogres, but an army of 2000 different type of monsters. Having this versatile, skillful and adaptive army meant there were only a few things that could surprise me as of now. I didn't even need to kill the floor bosses myself anymore, these 2000 soldiers were sufficient to handle the floor bosses themselves, and the good thing was that this way I was able to analyze their individual prowess. I had even divided the two thousand soldiers in four groups. Each group was lead by one of the elite summons.

Hades was leading the Ogres, Elite Werewolves, Hobgoblins, Minotaurs and Centaurs. This was the main damage dealing unit and were best suited for encounters at close range.

Goliath was leading the Golems and Giants. Their prime job was to ensure the safety of other units but with their sheer size and power were capable of crushing any enemy who dared to underestimate them.

Arabella, was tasked with leading the Cambions, Basilisks, Nagas, and Arachni. This constituted our magic unit, capable of causing high damage to the enemy in a short period of time, and could change the tide of any battle in an instant. But the only issue was that they could be destroyed quite easily if the enemy was somehow able to break through the defenses of Goliath's forces. But I had figured a solution to this problem as well.

Bruno's unit consisted of Cerberus kin, Chimeras and Griffins. This unit was highly agile and could easily defeat any enemy who tried overlooking their power. While the Cerberus kin could only deal physical damage to the enemy and their only source of power was their large number, Chimeras and Griffins were different as they could deal with the enemy using both magic and their physical strength. The main task of this unit was to protect the mages.

The only remaining problem was that I wasn't able to gain even a single summon anymore. It looked like two thousand summons was the limit of GOD'S WILL skill, Nor I was getting items from killing the monsters.

"The monster has been dealt with, my lord." Hades said kneeling before me. I looked around and saw everyone else was kneeling as well.

"How many times do I have to tell you, you don't need to kneel or bow down to me." I smiled and shook my head. "Let's go to the next floor now. I wonder what kind of monster is waiting for me in the 100th floor."
