An old friend
Jay had a lecture to be in at 8 am yet he woke up till 9 so he decided to just cancel the rest of lectures and just go back to sleep, but a loud bang on his door woke him up yet again. He got up from his bed walking angrily towards the door and much to his surprise when he opened it the house owner was there . He got confused because it's not the day of collecting the rent price yet, the old man saw the confusion on Jay's face so he cleared his throat and announced " Sir i need this apartment all empty by tomorrow ". Jay was caught off guard and didn't understand what was going on at all, " What do you even mean I'm renting this apartment you can't just throw me out I'm paying regularly and staying away from troubles with neighbors what else can i do ? why you're kicking me out ? " he said in a very angry voice, " Someone else payed me triple the original price for it and i have family to feed i don't have time to get emotionally involved in your life or your state so just get out by tomorrow " the old man replied in such a calm voice even though he was a bit afraid of jay's reaction . Jay stayed quite for few seconds before saying : " It's not even legal ", just to hear the man's laughing at him " legal ? you're too young to understand but let me tell you the world is unfair and justice is just a fantasy " then he just left the place and left the boy standing there trying hard to collect himself and trying to stay as calm as possible because the only idea on his head right now is to go after the man and beat the hell out of him. He entered the apartment and took a long stare at his mom's picture on the wall, he wanted to scream, to cry, to just go to his mom yet he wasn't able to do anything he just froze in his place staring quietly ....
On the evening he was in the training hall hitting the punching bags hard, not knowing what he's going to do next, just lost in his thoughts when the coach approached him and told him that he needs to get changed so he can close the hall. Jay nodded in silence and got his stuffs and just walked to the bus stop, when he got there he realized that he's late and the bus was already gone, 'can this day get any worse...?' he thought to himself and that's when his coworker Jacob texted him asking him about why he didn't show up to work today and only then it hit him he seriously forgot about his shift in the cafe. Now he was really mad at himself and just felt defeated and worthless, while he was so drowned in his negative thoughts someone jumped on him surprisingly. 'what the heck is that !??' imma just beat whoever was that' he said to himself but when he turned around he was in pure shock, it was his childhood bestfriend Aidan.
He didn't see him in years because of Aidan's father work but they kept in touch through social media and he had no idea that the boy was going back to his hometown. Aidan hugged Jay tightly and was showering him with tons of questions which made him smile for the first time since his mom's death he was happy to finally meet someone that he can feel safe with and to see that his best friend never changed and is still the same annoying talkative short piece of shit that he likes a lot . After minutes of chatting or what was more of just Aidan talking and Jay listening kind of conversation, Jay knew from the boy that he's back alone to the town so he can study in the art school because it was the best in the UK, " What about you though ? we kind of didn't talk much the last year because you weren't replying much ", Aidan said with an annoyed expression. " Well I'm studying economy, still training box and recently homeless " Jay said in his normal cold tone, " wait, wait hold on what do you mean with homeless ? ", so Jay explained the whole situation to his friend and told him about what happened this morning. And that's when the boy suddenly got so excited which made Jay a bit confused, i mean he knows that his friend is weird and unpredictable but that was just a bit out of ordinary so he just sat there waiting for an explanation and that's when Aidan screamed " You're going to leave with me, I'm currently at my family's apartment and i hate being alone so that's the perfect chance for us to be roommates it's gonna be fun, we're going to live together -" " No it's fine Aidan i can search for an apartment by tomorrow don't worry " Jay caught him from talking any further about his idea. " first of all rude, second you're living with me i clearly didn't ask for your opinion Mr. i can do it on my own ", Jay couldn't argue more, he knows his friend better beside he has no where else to go anyway so he just kept quite and that was Aidan's sign so they got back to Jay's apartment just to get everything ready for the move out the next day and than they just slept there. Aidan slept fast yet Jay couldn't it was his last day in the place that was a witness to all of his breakdowns after his mom's death so it was so special for him and just couldn't believe that he's leaving it .....
The next morning
The two boys were getting everything out of the apartment and making sure that they didn't leave anything behind and that's when Aidan asked " Why this apartment though, like who would pay all this money for this small apartment that's kind of weird ", Jay nodded because he was thinking about the same thing for a while now. " I don't know to be honest and i don't care, let's continue our work we're almost done " Jay was lying of course he cares he wants to know why ? and that's when something came up to his mind but he decided not to think about it much. The next hours were so tiring for the boys but they managed to get the job done before the sunset, Jay gave the key to the house owner without saying a word and without even looking at the man. When they arrived at the apartment they just sat on the coach and talked about the last years of there lives.
Than after two hours Aidan started whining about how hungry he was, and how tired he was, and than he turned to Jay with his puppy eyes, " Jay please go and bring us food I'm dying ", " Okay I'll be back soon ". Aidan suddenly started jumping all over the apartment not like he was about to die literally 10 seconds ago. After buying the food and on the way back home Jay started rethinking about the idea that cam to his mind earlier, when Aiden asked him about who might do that to him and it all made sense in his mind now. While getting to the floor of his new apartment he spotted a girl coming out of the next apartment and he recognized her immediately as the girl he met the other day on the bus ....
