3 CHAPTER 3: OSHUA

Avita lives in Oshua, one of the countries that make up the wonderful continent of Afreeka. Oshua is located in southern Afreeka and utilizes the Dryni as its currency.

Oshua is well-known for its agricultural products and is one of the countries on which other countries and nations rely to purchase staple crops such as maize and wheat. Oshua is also mineral-rich, and the service industry is expanding rapidly.

At the same time, the economy was suffering as a result of some international difficulties, conflicts, and other occurrences that could not be expected or averted at all. This caused several companies to close, as well as numerous mining operations to close, forcing many people to lose their jobs.

Even the country's service providers were suffering, with individuals being laid off virtually every day. This is why, despite not enjoying her job, Avita was not going to jeopardize her career by waking up jobless the next day. Despite the fact that her compensation was so low that she couldn't even pay her rent of OWD 1,500 per month, let alone food, transportation, and other expenses, she persisted and completed her job.

Fortunately for her, she didn't have to pay the rent alone because she was now living with her boyfriend, who was in charge of the rent while she was in charge of the food and utilities. Avita didn't own a car because it was too pricey for her to purchase and maintain. She'd been working as an Accountant assistant for about two years now and there was no sign of promotion.

Luckily for her, she was able to find work in her present workplace, which was somewhat toxic at the moment, as soon as she graduated. She had been with the company for three months without being paid. It wasn't just her; there were three others with her. It was difficult for her because she had to spend a lot of money every day while not being compensated.

However, in order to gain experience, Avita did not give up but worked tirelessly, and this was the best decision she ever made at the time. Her other colleagues were not hired, and she felt no sympathy for them. After all, if they were chosen, she would forfeit her shot at working for the corporation.

After being hired, Avita received a salary of OWD 1,300, which was later increased throughout the course of her employment until they reached the current wage of OWD 2,000. During the last meeting, the boss promised to raise their salaries, which she was looking forward to because every extra cent in her pocket helps a lot. Avita could only take public transportation because she didn't own a car, which was far less expensive than driving.

The kombis fare was OWD 7, and taxis were OWD 8. Special taxis, on the other hand, were different and dependent on where one was going, but the fee for these taxis started at OWD 40 and goes upwards. However, when compared to the costs of driving, Avita didn't mind being mocked for not driving at all. A liter of gasoline cost OWD 16, and a car would need more than that for only one journey in a day. On a day like this, how much money would a driver spend?

Actually, things used to be a lot better. Even the fuel was approximately OWD 9, but a year ago, due to a war in the Middle East between Country G and D, economic troubles arose, resulting in the ever-increasing prices that have continued to this day. All of these issues, however, would not affect Avita. She was merely a helpless individual with no ability to change anything. Instead of worrying about political issues, she opted to take each day as it came.

Avita took a kombi from Sparrow Commerce Park, which was a park for businesses and warehouses as well as the location of Avita's accounting firm. Avita first took a kombi to the CBD, where she will pick up her second kombi to take her home. Although it was painful to spend nearly OWD 30 per day on transportation alone, what else could be done?

Avita exited the kombi after paying her kombi fare and sighed as she looked at the crowded rank.

'There are a lot of people here! This alone proves that the long weekend has arrived! I can't wait to start making money!'

Avita was a highly positive person who did not give up easily or allow anything to get her down and demotivate her from attaining her goals. Her reason for staying in the CBD for longer this time was to purchase some shares. Although she was an Accountant Assistant, she did not rely solely on that position and also worked part-time.

It will be a lie to believe that she can manage and care for herself alone on her wage. So doing something extra will be extremely beneficial. She didn't want to rely too heavily on her lover. He still has a lot of people to look after. Avita went to the local shopping center, where she found a wholesaler of the product she intended to purchase.

Her phone started ringing again as she walked there, observing the enthusiastic people buying.

"..... if you need someone who can love you while he's gone, baby, you've got my number..."

Avita took out her phone again and saw the same caller I.D., wondering what this troublemaker wanted again.

Avita answered the phone this time; if she continued to ignore this person, something horrible would happen. "What do you want?"

[Damn! Is this how you talk to your friends?]

"Who is your pal? Just tell me what you need from me; I'm really busy!" Avita was not in the mood to entertain her alleged buddy.

For a moment, there was stillness on the other side before the other said, [Where are you right now? I must see you!]

Avita paused for a moment before responding, "I am in the CBD."

[Oh, that's just right. Just send me your location and I'll be there in a flash!]

Avita didn't see how thrilled the other person was and simply texted her location when the call ended. Avita resumed her shopping trip without delay.

A rich young lady was smiling in another part of Wakothanie, the vice-capital of Oshua, the same city where Avita lives.

“What? Did she finally answer your call?" her buddy asked, noticing how happy this lady was.

"Yes, she replied, so I'll be departing now."

"Oh, you're already leaving? We haven't even begun eating yet!"

"Lunch can wait, but Avi cannot. It's not every day that she lets me see her!"

"Why are you so obsessed with her?"

"You will never understand!" sobbed the wealthy lady.

How can mortals understand her?
