1 The Beginning

JAKE POV

May 18 1448

"Hey momma," I said as I sat by her grave. It's been a year since her death she was killed the day I turned. Yes, turned... I'm a vampire and no I don't like being one although it is the best thing I don't find amazement in it. I had no choice when I turned my mother did it to keep me alive for I was sick and dying after I was bitten by a wolf. A bite from a wolf was one of the most deadliest things to ever get as a young person. I was 20 when I turned and I hated that she give up her life to save mine. I blamed myself for her death that I once took out an entire town of wolves and I was never caught.

"I miss you ma, "I said in tears setting down the rose I had brought every times I came to visit her which was every day. I rose from my sitting position and headed home it was about 6 in the afternoon an my mom was buried bout some feet away from my house so I would always walk back and clear my head.

*FLASHBACK*

"Please, Maya I beg of you he can't die he needs to live," I manage to hear my mother say to her best friend, Maya.

"Are you sure Kay you know to do this one's life has to be taken," Maya told her. She looked at me and smile, I focused a smile back at her for I was too weak to even move.

"I know Maya but he's my son," she looked at Maya," I want to do it please he's too young if I have to die to save him then so be it."

I was too weak to say anything or move I could hardly even keep my eyes open. I looked at my mother eyes half open," My love, My sweet, sweet boy I know what I have to do but before I do it remember this, I will always be with you no matter what and tell your father I had to do this I love you Jake," she said slowly stroking with my hair.

"Okay Maya im ready," she said. Maya took her hand and my hand and cut our palms and drew our blood into a cup and started to chant in Latin which I quite didn't understand but could never forget.

"ad sanandum infirmos, a sanguine ad sanguinem, et offer hoc fiet unum ad unum: una assumetur ex hoc quod novo renascitur expergiscim," she said and all of a sudden all the candles in the room was lit.

"Renascitur, renascitur, renascitur,"Maya repeated and with that all I saw was black.

I woke up to an unpleasant feeling in my gums, I look around and see that im not at home. I sit up and my memory flooded back at me.

"Mom," I yelled and got up looking for her.

I spotted Maya, at the bottom of the stairs her with back was turned to me and I could hear her cry like she was right next to me. Ignoring how that even possible I rushed to her when I noticed what she was crying for.

"Mom!" I cried knelling down holding my mother in my arms.

"Hey baby your awake," she said weakly holding my face in her palms," don't let this change you and remember mama loves you," was the last thing she said.

I was pulled out of my thought at the sound of my dad calling my name I had not even notices I had already reached home. I whipped my face and jogged up into his study to see him with Maya.

"What's up?" I ask confused.

"Where were you Jake?" he angrily asked.

"You know where I was dad, why ask?" I said walking over to the chair and sitting down.

"Well there's a talk going round saying that an entire village was saluted and people are saying it's you," he acknowledged and walked over to me.

"I haven't done any killing of human since the last time so?" I asked. The day my mom died I got so angry that I whipped out and entire town but was never caught so why do they point at me now I wondered.

"They know Jake," he answered me looking worried.

I was about to tell him don't worry when a noise from downstairs was heard.

"Where is he Sean I know he did that to the village I lost my wife and daughter man....i had just gone to get them something to eat and now they gone he has to pay even if I have to burn your house to the ground," I heard my dad's friend Kevin yell. My dad and Maya looked at me and said that they have a safe place for me to stay until everything had cooled down. Maya and I escaped out the back and through the woods until we came to a home that somewhat looked like a castle.

"This was your mother and my secret place when we were your age it below to my grandfather but no one really want to come all this way to care for it so I did and it became mine, "Maya said as she opened the door.

"What about my dad?" I asked grabbing her arm. She didn't answer me instead she just looked into my eyes and the next thing I know is that im in what looks like a cell.

"I remember when I created you, your mother begged me to do it I didn't want to do it, to be fair I wanted you to die but she was my best friend and I did it for her I killed my best friend to save your life an you repay me by killing the one thing I had left," Maya said as she looked at me with a straight face.

I try to get up but my body won't move.

"I killed my best friend and created a monster that kill my daughter just because she didn't want him," Maya spoke as she put down some candles.

"Where....my..dad?"I coughed she sat they quite.

"Where is he?" I yelled still trying to get up. She still said nothing just looked down at the ground.

"I'm sorry Jake I truly am but he's better of death than trying to take carry of you," she finally said and all I felt was anger. I rushed over to the cell and start banging on the railing till I collapsed.

"What... are you doing Maya," I asked I as watching her set down something. Maya was now as the great witch around the town an she scared the hell out of me when she does her magic.

"You kill my daughter so you will pay for what you did," she said calmly that it scared the crap out of me.

"Maya you know I didn't kill her I would never hurt Elmira, she was my best friend I didn't..." but she cut me off when she started chanting again. I felt an unexplaineable pain that I blacked out when I had finally woke up Maya was gone and I was in the cell with not more than a book my mother left me and a witch light.
