1 CHAPTER 01

The picture frame that she held on her hands reminded her of the bad memory that brought her two blessings at once. She had a very tough childhood that she wished not to recall, without mentioning her youth was all destroyed because of one man.

The memory displayed inside her head, that awful night when she got from collage and stopped by her male bestfriend as a strong rain came out of nowhere forcing her to stay at his room waiting for the rain to stop.

She remembered how her throat was hurting from all the shouting and crying as she begged the man that she long thought was her friend to stop forcing himself on her...but her efforts were in vain and he raped her.

Tears were drowning her pretty face, she wiped them off and returned the frame on the wall. When she turned back she found her father leaning on the other wall his hands crossed on his chest as he shook his head feeling sorry for his daughter.

She greeted him trying to hide her pain. "My twins grew up too fast..it was just yesterday when I held them in my arms, now they feel empty!" She said as she spread her arms and looked at them.

Mr. Jones gave a weak smile looking at his daughter."I hope the day will come when you would forget that bad incident, and look at your children's photos without crying.."

Emeralda's eyes went down realising that her father knew how the incident still affected her, he held her face up as he said. "Stop dwelling into the past my child, you will miss the future!"

"Dad it's not like I don't love my children, I just can't believe how a misfortune like that brought me my two angels..the man doesn't deserve to be their dad at all!" She cried in pain as she told her father.

He patted her shoulders slowly, "You are no god Emeralda..you don't get to choose your fate, I am here to support you why don't you thank God for that and stop judging the man?"

"It's really hard, I've tried! But I can't bring myself to forgive him.." She sniffed and hugged her father.

Mr. Jones patted her daughter's back trying to comfort her as she hugged him, still crying.

They were startled with the footsteps that approached them, Emeralda wiped off her tears immediately as she knew that her daughters were approaching where they were. Her mouth curved a wide smile when she saw her twins standing in front of her, she hugged them together.

"Girls you are back early!" She commented after looking at her wrist watch.

Gaby took out a letter from her bag and showed her mother as she spoke, "we reminded you yesterday, that there will be a parents meeting at school... why are you still here?"

Emeralda gazed at her twins after realising they were early since their teachers are conducting a meeting, she chuckled.."I was about to get ready anyway..you really didn't think I would miss it, did you?" She teasingly asked them.

"Huh! You are a bad actress, miss Emeralda..trying to fool us!" Izy teased her mother back and they both laughed along with their grandfather.

Meanwhile Gaby noticed that her mother was not okay, she was just laughing trying to hide her pain. She hugged her tight hoping that whatever was hurting her had nothing to do with her and her twin, little did she know that their origin of existence alone was a pain to her.
