Twins of Diamond and Pearl (Poke Fic)

You know the drill. Truck-Kun decided that another person needed to die. This lucky, or unlucky person depending on how you look at it, was sent to the world of Pokemon. They were born on the same day and in the same village as the future champion of the Sinnoh region. Unfortunately, they have no memories of this until they catch their first Pokemon. This means that the MC gets to be childhood friends with the (in my opinion) most powerful of all the Pokemon champions. This is a story about two friends having a journey to take on the Pokemon League together as they adventure and catch Pokemon in this magical world. Originally written on RoyalRoad but this is a rewrite with the protagonist having some different Pokemon than the original.

Chapter 26: Old Woman's Wrath

The next day, Xander and Cynthia were sitting in the Ranger Station under Sunyshore City, having been detained while the Rangers went out to investigate the tale that Xander had told them. Thanks to the fact that the balls did come back registered to the poacher when the software he used on them was cracked, the Rangers were not harsh with the pair.

After going to the Swampy Cave and seeing the destruction that the raging parents had caused as well as seeing the Nidoking and Nidoqueen watching the Rangers so vigilantly when they arrived to investigate, it was not hard to figure out that the duo had told the truth and didn't leave anything out.

Once the Rangers called back to the station and let their superiors know their findings, the twins were brought into the Top Ranger's office that was in charge of this area.

It was a man who looked to be in his early 30s with a large build and body that most would think of when they heard of someone like a Ranger.

"It looks like you both were telling the truth. Sorry for having to hold you here but we can't use our Psychic Pokemon on minors and your story was just a little hard to believe," Ranger Tony apologized and explained their actions once more. He was sure that the kids were telling the truth but he had to give the poacher a fair investigation.

"No problem. So that means that we are good to go?" Xander asked, wanting to get out of the station so he could get his Pokemon to the nearest Pokemon Center for them to get a proper checkup.

"Yes. Though there is one thing I should warn you about," Ranger Tony tried to force a smile on his face but it looked very unnatural and creepy. "Since you were both minors, even though you are already trainers. We had to report this incident to your guardians. We first tried to contact your parents but we couldn't get through. So then we called Prof. Carolina."

"No," Cynthia called out, her eyes filled with fear while her body began to shake.

'Lord Arceus. Please lord, who I know is real and the creator of all things. I ask that you wake up Groudon and Kyogre early or send Deoxys to come down here so that Rayquaza will catch Grandma Carolina's attention,' Xander immediately started praying to the one true god of Pokemon, hoping for anything that could save him from the old woman's wrath.

"Professor Carolina is waiting for you both to call her once you reach the Pokemon Center," Ranger Tony said with eyes filled with pity. He had heard tales of Prof. Carolina's rage.

Once before, she was researching an ancient temple from the Hisuian Era with her team of assistants. Then a group of Poachers and Rangers appeared nearby, battling for over the egg of a Dragonite.

When they nearly damaged the temple, Carolina had her assistants join the battle and attack both sides using a large number of Psychic Pokemon. Thanks to using Psychic Moves only, they were able to defeat all of the other Pokemon and trainers without damaging any part of the temple.

And that was one of her more tame examples.

The woman had once gone after the Champion of Kanto because his Charizard damaged the temple in Snowpoint City. He was berated publicly and forced to issue an apology.

She also nearly caused a war between two regions since she refused to continue cooperation between her lab and the ones in Unova on a major project once she found out that the lead Professor had destroyed several ancient temples in their region to find as much DNA as he could.

She published this information and her proof which caused the other Professor to get angry and try to get the Gym Leaders to attack Sinnoh which made the Sinnoh Gym Leaders prepare for battle. It took the Elite 4 and Regional Champions from both regions as well as the intervention of the Pokemon League to stop those battles from occuring.

When he recalled all those stories of Professor Carolina, Tony could imagine what the duo would suffer through.

Xander and Cynthia left the station with their heads hung low as they got on the elevator to the city.

When they got up there, the duo were surprised to see how dirty the city was. This place was called the Bane of Sinnoh. It had a large number of criminals and Poachers which made the crime rate insanely high. Only in the areas under the direct control of the Pokemon League would a person's safety be guaranteed.

Cynthia pulled up her Pokech to try to schedule her match at the Gym but was stopped when Xander grabbed her wrist. He began pulling the girl in the direction of the Pokemon Center while warning her, "This place isn't the best city. We can schedule our matches when we check into our room."

Cynthia nodded, deciding it was better to just go along with what Xander said. He wasn't wrong and waiting 10 minutes to schedule the match wouldn't make too much of a difference.

When the duo arrived, they quickly checked their Pokemon in and rented a room for them to stay in for their time before heading up to their room to face the Legendary Pokemon that awaited them.

Xander dialed Carolina's number and the pair sat in front of the screen, waiting for her to answer the call. It only rang twice before they were greeted by the angry face of the older woman.

"You fools! Stupid! Dumb! I will break your legs!" Prof. Carolina started, going off on the pair. She yelled at them for an hour about how stupid they were, how dangerous it had been, and all the things that could have possibly gone wrong.

Xander felt his mind buzzing by the time she got done yelling but when he saw the call wasn't over, he made sure his expression remained respectful.

"After saying all that, I am proud of you both. You did a good job. So schedule your matches, grab some food, and get some rest. You've earned it."
