3 Prologue (3)

Booting up the game, I sighed as I felt my mind get 'sucked' into the Pod, loading into Twin Moons of Eden: Online for the first time ever.

Everything loaded in swiftly, the preloading I had done all day long allowing me to enter the game right away and begin the first step of my journey that would hopefully last multiple years inside what should be a masterpiece of a sequel.

Accepting the various agreements and warnings as they popped up, I found myself deposited inside a beautiful grassy clearing in the middle of a forest, the familiar fairy starting guide floating around in the center of the clearing turning and grinning at me as she drifted over, her small body and gorgeous wings glimmering with silver light.

"Heya friend! Ooh~! You got a familiar coloration on your soul... You have Ancestral Ties! Wow! Oh I feel so lucky!"

Ancestral Ties... something that the developers teased for a new feature inside their game, and something that had been done before.

Since this Pod had a link with my account inside of Battle of Eden, I was given the 'Ancestral Ties' to my former characters, since this game took place a hundred years after the events of the Battle of Eden.

Special classes and races were available for me to choose thanks to my completion of the quests inside Battle of Eden, and I was immensely curious to find out what they were~!

"Valorous Soul, please grant me the honor to know your name?"

The fairy fluttered a little closer, allowing me to gaze upon her cute face and shimmering pale skin as she floated in front of me, her innocent smile and curious gaze so realistic thanks to her AI programming that was present in all NPC's to make them feel realistic.

"Kira. My name is Kira."

I know most people didn't condone utilizing your own name inside of games, but I only ever gave my first name - which was a rather common name on the planet - so I never worried about anything; besides, I liked the sound of it and was accustomed to using it, so why not.

"Kira... Kira! Alright~! It's a pleasure to meet you Kira! I'll make sure to keep an eye out for stories of your greatness! Now..!"

Turning, the fairy beckoned for me to follow behind her, taking me towards the center of the clearing and gesturing at the pond, saying "If you don't mind, Kira, please submerge your face into the Pond of Beginnings!"

"Thank you, little fairy."

She beamed at me as I knelt, fluttering beside me and diving inside as soon as I dunked my head into the cool water, finding myself looking at a reflection of myself inside of a clear crystal that covered the bottom of the pond.

The fairy appeared beside the reflection and said "Since you have Ancestral Ties, there are a few more options available for your soul to take shape as! So you should know that the first option available to you is selecting the body that shall become the coil for your Valorous Soul!"

Instantly multiple bodies similar to my own appeared around the body in front of me in a ring, and with a thought I could move the ring around, bringing a new body around and allowing me to view the various racial traits available to certain races.

For example...

[Race : Human

Benefits : +2 to one stat; +1 to all other stats

Detriment : Pure Blooded Races distrust you to start; Restricted Beginning Zone to Human Controlled Regions]

Every race had benefits and detriments, and sometimes one of those outweighed the other; for example...

[Race : Drow

Benefits : Nightvision, +2 to DEX

Detriment : Despised by Elves and Humans; Distrusted by other Races; Restricted Beginning Zone to Moonless Cavern; -3 CHA; Restricted to Chaotic or Evil Morality]

Drow were one of the least played races thanks to the large amount of restrictions placed on top of them, and many didn't enjoy being faced with racial hatred aimed at them for what they viewed as 'no reason'...

However, the Drow had some of the strongest players ever thanks to their sheer determination to make the Drow a respected race through strength, diplomacy, and forging ties with other players, who helped them bridge the gaps and allow the Drow Tribes to reach the National Stage... even if they continued to be the murderous slavers that they were before.

Races had so much to offer past what was seen on this screen, and you needed to think things through properly before selecting one... though you were allowed three characters if you wished, and I usually made a character with some rarely chosen race just to see what I could do with it.

For now though, I took a look at the new races available inside this game for both this game as well as Ancestral Ties.

Demon-Bound, Fiend-Bound, Devilbloods, Tengu, Tanuki, Metal Golems, Battle Forged, Ancient Humans...

There were quite a few, and they all seemed rather intriguing; for instance, the Devilbloods have access to Infernal Magic, which had inbuilt curses and debuffs and cost less mana than normal Fire Magic, but you were despised by almost all races in the game due to your ancestry, and you suffered from occasional invasive night terrors that opened small portals into hell to drag you back.

Sounded really~ fucking cool, and anyone could appreciate a more destructive Fire Spell, but the more I looked, the more I found myself drawn back to one race...

[Race : Half Fae (Half ???, Half Fairy)]

[Choose your Non-Fae side before progressing]

It seemed interesting, enough, and after curiously browsing the choices, I decided on being Half Human despite it being rather vanilla, preferring the blanket benefits over the specialized benefits for the time being.

[Race : Half Fae (Half Human, Half Fairy)

Benefits : +2 to all stats; Fae Magic; Bonus to Persuasion and Deception

Detriments : Incapable of Destructive Elemental Magics (Lightning, Fire, Ice, and more); Disliked by Pure Blooded Races; Restricted Beginning Zone to all Forested Domains]

The benefits and detriments balanced out in my eyes, especially since I had a build in mind for this race, and I found myself rather drawn to the appearance I would have.

Like my fairy guide, I had sparkling, smooth skin that was a little eye catching - but in a good way - and a similar expression I had in real life, with my eyes now being locked to three colors; green, brown, or pink.

Continuing down the path with this race, I began to shape my appearance some more since I knew that I could be here all day sorting through these races, and I decided that this one would be fun to play with - since it was new - and that it fit my desired class.

Adjusting my body just a tad, I made it more similar to my own natural body, wanting to feel comfortable inside my personal temple both in game and in real life, and I found that rather beautiful.

The only difference I made was lowering my height just a tad and changing my eye color from my natural blues to that gorgeous shining pink, finding the exoticness of it captivating.

Otherwise, I remained the same fit, average height futa that I was in real life, allowing me to better acclimate to this world so that I could begin grinding out levels quicker.
