Illusionary Wife Revealed

"Fumiko, get me out of this! You know I haven't done this. You know very clearly it's you who did this. So spare me!" Hina called out from behind the jail bars.

"No, I can't do any such thing. You brought this upon yourself, Hina. If you hadn't published what I said, this situation would never have arisen. Do you think I'm a fool who will agree to whatever you say? No, I'm not such an idiot, Hina," Fumiko said angrily.

"You're crossing the line, Fumiko. I considered you a friend, and this is what you're returning as a favor?" Hina asked.

"Friend? Don't joke with me! If you thought of me as a friend, then you wouldn't have published something without my knowledge. Even worse, you dare to say I did it, the legal advisor to the office no less! And you still dare to say you're my friend? Shame on you, Hina. Really, shame on you," Fumiko said, walking out of the place when she found the legal advisor standing outside waiting for her.

"Are you waiting for me?" Fumiko asked.

"Yes, Madam. I was assigned to take you to Mr. Anzai's mansion," the legal advisor said.

"Take me to the mansion? Now?" Fumiko asked, confused.

"Yes, Madam. Mr. Anzai is all set to release a press release statement, so I don't think you being here is good for the scenario," he said.

"But if he releases the statement, I need to capture the footage. I'm a journalist too," Fumiko said while walking towards her bike.

"But you are also the madam of the Anzai group," the legal advisor said. "It will harm your reputation," he added.

"You might not know this, but my name is not going to be in the news. It will only be an illusionary wife and son who will never appear on the news or at any business world meetings. So you can rest assured about saving Mr. Anzai's image," Fumiko said and left, riding her bike.

She drove her bike towards the press conference venue, where many journalists were already present.

"Fumiko, where were you? I've been waiting for you for a long time," another reporter asked.

"Oh, I was on my way. I already got the information regarding this, but something occurred to stop me on the way," Fumiko said while setting up her equipment at the front of the press conference area.

"I will be the one to exclusively release this news first," Fumiko muttered.

"Don't think we'll lose, Fumiko!" the other reporter said, smirking.

"We'll see," Fumiko said as Hiroto Anzai appeared in front of them with his bodyguards surrounding him.

"Mr. Anzai has arrived."

"Mr. Anzai has arrived."

Everyone started muttering as he came and sat down, surrounded by microphones.

But his eyes fell on Fumiko, who was among the journalists.

"She never listens," Hiroto muttered.

"So, Mr. Anzai, what news are you going to reveal? What's the situation? Is it the secret? Is it the secret you've been hiding for so long?" the reporter asked.

"Yes, you can say that. It is the secret I've kept hidden for so long," Hiroto said, looking at Fumiko, who looked away.

"What is it, Mr. Anzai? What's the secret you've kept hidden for so long? Is it something related to the heir of the Anzai group? Is this what you're going to reveal? Are you getting married? Or is it about the article that was released a while ago and disappeared from the internet in the blink of an eye?" Fumiko asked.

"Miss Suzuki, your guess might be right, and wrong too," Hiroto said.

"Yes, it's about my heir. The heir of the Anzai group has been chosen, and it's not about marriage because I'm already married. And my son, Hiro Anzai, is going to inherit everything I have." Hiroto said.

"Hiroto Anzai is married?"

"The bachelor Hiroto Anzai is married and has a son?"

Everyone started muttering.

"So why did you hide it for so long, Mr. Anzai? Is there any reason behind it? Or is your son illegitimate?" a reporter asked, making Fumiko clench her fist.

"My son is legitimate. I've already said I'm married, and I don't want to disclose who my wife and son are because of privacy concerns. So, I guess you'll all support this decision of mine," Hiroto said and walked away.

Soon after, Fumiko handed over her video footage to another reporter to take it to the office.

"I want this to reach the office as soon as possible, so hurry," Fumiko said as the other person rode his bike to the office while the other reporters were still muttering.

"So, is this why he removed the article about his son, with people claiming it to be human trafficking?" another reporter muttered.

"Of course, it's a huge scandal for him too. If he hadn't revealed his marriage, he wouldn't have been able to come out and say he's a married man," Fumiko said.

"But who do you think his wife is? Someone of high status or a commoner like us?" the reporter asked.

"Why do we need to pry into this? It's his business," Fumiko said.

"Fumiko, don't forget we're reporters. Getting news and investigating further is our job, and releasing it on the media.Don't say something you wouldn't do yourself," the reporter said.

"Yes, yes, I understand. I'll look into it," Fumiko said as she walked out of the place. She then saw Hiroto Anzai's car still waiting for her. Fumiko, angered but determined, secretly entered the car.

"What's this now? What if someone saw this, then I'd be the one in huge trouble," Fumiko said.

"Then you wouldn't have come here. I said not to come here. Why did you come then?" Hiroto asked, looking at her angrily.

"So what? You want me to go to your bloody mansion and ignore the news footage I need to get for my company?" Fumiko said angrily.

"So the work is more important than being my wife?" Hiroto asked, frowning.

"Since when am I your real wife, Mr. Hiroto Anzai?" Fumiko countered.
