"What?!? Jessica, what are you doing?" Ryan asked as Jessica backed him into the bathroom a determined expression on her face.

"Why not me Ryan! Am I not pretty enough?! Smart Enough?! Did I do something that you did not like?!" Jessica said her voice was firm, but he could hear the quiver in it as she spoke.

"Jessica..." He tried but she stopped him.

"No! Why are you with her! I have been trying for a whole year for you to notice me, I have been nothing but nice and tried to get to know you all this time," Her voice finally broke as a tear slid down her cheek, "I like to believe that I am beautiful, you might not think so but I think I am. And it is not just that I am top of.my class you know, even if we compared it with your own I would still be number one.

Do you remember when you first came here? When everyone wanted to rush to be your friend and get close to you because you were the new kid?

I know you thought you were above us all so you pushed them all away, but that didn't give you the right to dismiss my feelings. I have seen you with her and Rosalie all night, why couldn't it be me?

Hell why did you pick Rosalie over me? She has been here what like a few days?! How did she get your attention but not me?"

Tears were now freely streaming down her cheeks as she spoke her mind, and Ryan was honestly stunned not expecting her to come so forward to him like this, he knew she was not drunk too. Her eyes were clear, minus being red from crying, but other then that she was still clear headed as she spoke to him.

"Jessica, I..." He tried again.

"No Ryan! If you say anything to me right now then I want it all laid out clear on the table, I will not let you leave unless you are completely honest with me." Her expression was determined as she stood in front of him.

Ryan looked at her, he didn't see the girl that looked exactly like Anna Kendrick at that moment, instead he saw behind all that and into the eyes of a young girl who was insecure and vulnerable. To be honest he didn't really push her away from a legit reason, it just so happened that he had just been closer to Leah rather then anyone else, because he had not taken the time to get to know her.

He will admit some of her words being true, with his system he did see himself as better then everyone else, but that was something that had just grown over the years as he grew up alone. It wasn't until he met Leah who actually made him laugh that brought him back down to earth, knowing that he was in twilight and actually was not the strongest person.

Then when he got his bloodline, well it got him back in that mindset that everyone at school, other then the Cullens were just destined to be background characters who he would never see again. Which if he was being honest was rude, because he could actually remember his past life and how it felt to be the normal one, the average person that was looking down on by others.

He looked into her blue eyes and sighed, "I'm sorry Jessica, really I am. Leah, is and always will be the real first friend I made and it was because something just made me want to be closer to her, something not even I know if I can explain correctly.

You are right about Rosalie though, that is mainly because it is how much time I have spent around her that it happened that way. Unlike everyone else who walked away when I ignored them she kept coming back, and I have to admit you did too.

While I can't change the past, I can change how I treat you in the future. At the moment I am dating Leah though, and I won't break up with her because I truly care for her, hell I might even love her."

Ryan heard a gasp and looked up to see the crack in the door, he saw that both Rosalie and Leah were watching them through the crack but they did not step into the bathroom to stop it.

"...You won't even consider me?" Jessica asked bringing his attention back to her.

Ryan sighed, "How about this instead, this is my last year and you still have one. So if in five years..."

"Five years!" She shouted looking at him wide eyed.

"Yes, if in five years you are not married.or dating someone then we can give it a try. Because I am going away to college after this year, plus we won't see each other for another five since you still have college yourself.

I will even agree to meet somewhere with you so that you know I am not lying." He offered.

She grinned a blush on her cheeks, "Can we meet at the top of Empire State Building, like in sleepless in Seattle?"

He chuckled, "Sure thing. In five years I will meet you there."

She nodded, "Good then let's seal this deal with..."

She pounced him by surprise her lips connecting with his own, his eyes widen as he looked to the door, Leah looked pissed but when their eyes connected she just nodded accepting it. Honestly that surprised him a lot.

Jessica moaned as she deepened the kiss, he kissed her back holding her waist tightly, he pulled back though after a few seconds biting her lip making her whimper, "Oh my God! Thank god I found you guys, Seth is about to fight Mike and Tyler!" Ryan heard the voice of Mel say which he recognized from earlier.

It broke him away from Jessica as he ran out the bathroom to see Rosalie and Leah following her out the room, he rushed after them to see a crowd of teens rushing out the front door talking about the fight. When he finally made it out the crowd was circled around Seth, Tyler and Mike who were all insulting each other, it was obvious the older teens were drunk at this point.

Ryan parted the crowd, he passed by Leah and the others who stood in the edge with Mel who watched on worried, "What is going on here!" Ryan demanded as he stood by Seth.

"Oh look golden boy is here!" Mike spat glaring at him, Tyler though looked nervous.

"Nothing much Ryan, these assholes were just mad that I kicked their ass in beer pong and wanted their money back." Seth said looking more confident as Ryan was now next to him.

"How much did you win?" Ryan asked arms crossed.

"$250, $125 from each." Seth said with a grin.

"Give it back." He said shocking Seth who looked over at him wide eyed, "I know you won it fair and square but people like them will stay petty about it and I don't feel like spending time in jail for kicking their asses. I will give you the money."

Seth smiled a little before digging in his pockets, he threw the money at their feet, "Losers, can't even handle a loss."

Mike growled and charged running as Seth with pure anger in his eyes, Tyler didn't move though deciding to stay exactly where he was, Ryan sighed as he stood in front of Seth. He dodged the punch which made Mike wobbly and struck him hard and quick in the jaw, Mike went down like falling bricks.

Jessica chose that moment to walk out of the crowd, "That is it! Part is over, everyone can thank Mike for that, he killed the mood, you all can stay until you are sober but no more drinking."

She threw Ryan a wink before taking Angela's arm and heading back to her house, other booed Mike some even spilling their beers on him before walking away. Mel was already at their side holding Seth's arm, "Well I am good to drive so we can leave now." Ryan said twirling his keys.

"So, are you going to teach me to fight too?" Seth said with a grin.

He chuckled shaking his head as he walked over to Leah, "Sure thing. Now let's go."

Ryan slid into bed pulling Leah to his chest, he was thankful that she didn't pull away, "You have been quiet." He commented.

"I have known that a lot of girls like you, but it is just hitting me how much they do. I'm not mad that you kissed her back or made that promise, because really who knows what our relationship will be like in five years.

It is just, I don't want to lose you Ryan, but I saw the look in Rosalie's eyes and I heard the words that Jessica spoke. They will be just as hurt as I was when Sam cheated on me with Emily, and I don't think I can do that to them, but I also do not know what to do about it." She said while wrapping her arms around his neck pulling herself closer.

He kissed her fully making her moan into it before he pulled back, "You do nothing about it. Unless you truly want to do something, I am all yours Leah in every way, so do not worry about it. Just believe me, okay?"

She nodded laying her head on his chest, "I believe in you Ryan, I really do."
