6 chapter 6 : A little help for Charlie
(Time skip)
Summer passed and Jacob spent his time learning two things mainly besides his training with the pack, the first thing was how to start wearing clothes again and the second was controlling his strength in his human form.
The first few days had been a disaster as Jacob physically in his human form to everyone's shock was faster and stronger than a giant wolf from the pack.
His physical performance was even superior to a vampire according to Sam and one of the elders and it was a subject that had shaken the community for weeks and for many, Jacob had become a being totally apart and blessed by all ancestors.
If only he wanted to, he could be an Alpha among alphas. The mystical wolf is the nickname given to him.
If before Billy was proud of his son, now it was something else, Jacob had even decided to stop classes to devote himself fully to his work and his activities but that didn't bother anyone.
He was admired by all his peers and was the model of the other young people but among them, one of the young people took him for his idol and it was Seth Clearwater, the son of Harry the elder of the tribe.
Seth stuck to Jacob like his shadow, he wanted to follow him everywhere and do everything like him. His grades had gotten a big improvement at the reservation school because Jacob had told him to work hard at his studies.
Harry had asked Jacob to take care of his son later and he agreed, he had even promised the old man that if he decided to form a pack, he would take Seth with him if the young man also became a wolf.
It was September 15 and it was barely dark, Jacob was working in his workshop repairing a tribe member's car when his father called him urgently.
Concerned by the tone of his father's voice, Jacob quickly arrived when Billy told him that Bella had been missing since this morning and Charlie had mobilized the police to search for her.
"Bella is missing?!" Jacob repeated to himself as he realized that all this time the thought of Bella hadn't invaded his mind, he even realized that he had forgotten her birthday two days ago and felt guilty because even though she had chosen Edward, Bella was still his friend.
"I'm going to find her" He said before leaving with his motorbike to find Charlie and find out all the necessary information. On his bike, Jacob's style was simply eye-catching.
He kept his hair long but tied it into a big Man Bun with several strands falling over his face. He was dressed in a black leather jacket over a white t-shirt and underneath he had black jeans and black biker boots.
He very quickly found Charlie on the road with some officers and Charlie was very surprised to see him after months of absence, he wanted to ask him questions about the color of his eyes but there was more important and any help would be welcome.
Jacob asked him questions and according to the same testimonies, the last time she was seen was near the woods at school with Edward. They had already searched the area but found nothing, even with the dogs.
"I'll bring her back to you Charlie. " Jacob said before starting his motorcycle to rush towards the school while Charlie saw him leave without much hope.
Jacob arrived outside the school and pulled out a scarf belonging to Bella that he had picked up from Charlie's just before he got there, he sniffed the scarf to take in her scent before his eyes have become supernatural.
There, with frightening speed he moved in a certain direction following Bella's scent and in just over two minutes he had found her unconscious on the floor.
Its location was rather far from the school and rather close to the Cullens' abandoned residence.
Seeing that Bella was fine but just had a fever, he carried her to bring her back to her father. Upon seeing the group of police officers in front, Jacob immediately called out to them.
Jacob: Charlie!
The man saw his daughter in Jacob's arms and rushed to pick her up and put her in the ambulance.
Jacob: She has a high fever but that's all, I found her far away in the forest.
Charlie: Jacob I don't even know how to thank you or how you did it so quickly but...thank you son.
Jacob: It was nothing, you should go with her, only one person is allowed in the ambulance.
Charlie nodded before getting in with the ambulance as it left. Far away in the woods, Jacob saw Sam and a few members of his pack, they had also taken part in the search so he nodded to them out of pure gratitude before leaving to collect his motorcycle and return home.
The days gave way to weeks then the months went by, Jacob busy with his activities had not seen Bella again but he often called Charlie to find out about his friend and apparently, she was in a great depression following the departure of the Cullen family with Edward.
He had decided to leave her alone with herself so that she could take stock, hoping that she would be strong enough for her father but that was not the case.
It got to the point where Charlie called Jacob to come help him because Bella sometimes screamed at night because of her nightmares.
He had tried to talk to her about it but it was hopeless.
After telling his father that he was going to help Charlie for maybe a few days, he even thanked Jacob for that because Charlie was his friend.
Charlie has always been good to them and he was a bit pitiful with everything Bella put him through. Jacob left at night with some clothes and Charlie greeted him with thanks.
It seemed Bella was already asleep so Jacob asked her if he could occupy the couch, he begged him to make himself at home and that there was food if he was hungry.
When he had already gone up to his room, Charlie came back down with a curious look.
Charlie: Jacob I don't know how you managed to change so much physically and I'm happy to have you here to help me but I would like to know what happened to your eyes, I've never seen such color. Are these lentils?
Jacob: (laughs) no, just after the start of summer my eyes started to heat up and give me burning sensations to the point where it even affected my tear glands. We went to see a specialist doctor and he told us it was an extremely rare form of infection, apparently a genetic problem.
Charlie: Um...I see. I hope it doesn't have too many drawbacks.
Jacob: Apart from the color in the appearance, everything is normal.
Charlie: I see. It's cold, it's winter so I'm going to get you something to properly cover yourself with.
"Um thank you, gladly" he replied with a smile, he didn't really need it but he had to play the game.
During the night while lying on the couch, Bella immediately started screaming in her sleep because of a nightmare and like the wind, Jacob was already in her room and approached her to calm her down .
"Bella...Bella, hey. It's okay, everything's okay. "he touched her to reassure her but she panicked when she saw him in her room before quickly turning on the bedside lamp and realizing that Jacob was there with her.
She was surprised mostly because of his appearance but she was able to compose herself as he sat down next to her on the bed.
Bella: Jacob ?! It's really you ?! You...where were you...?
She said burying her head in Jacob's chest who gave her a hug to reassure her.
Jacob: shut, shut, shut! We'll discuss all this tomorrow but you have to sleep first, you have school tomorrow.
Confused at how he spoke to her like a big brother, she ignored it and tried to go back to sleep due to fatigue as Jacob gave Charlie a thumbs up outside who also did the same.
Jacob wanted to get up and go back to the couch when she held him and asked him to stay a little longer because she felt safe with him there.
The next day, Bella came down from her room ready for school to find Jacob having breakfast with Charlie.
Bella: I really can't believe you're here.
Jacob: Come have breakfast with us, Charlie said it's been a while since he had breakfast with anyone in this house.
Bella: Not hungry and I have to go to school.
"With what car?!" Jacob said before waving Bella's vehicle key in his left hand.
Bella: Are you serious Jake?
Jacob: Come sit down, I've prepared your plate and I'll take you to school myself.
Bella: JACOB!
Jacob: I'm serious, it's on the road for my work so it's convenient (Indicates the seat) come on. It is the most important meal of the day.
Bella: Why are you doing that?!
"You're wasting time Bella." He said amusedly as she came to sit down. Jacob had made a small salad with a vegetarian croque monsieur, a French recipe.
Bella: Did you do that?! Is it good at least?
Jacob: Charlie ?
Charlie: I'll leave you the surprise Bella.
She started with the croque monsieur and was surprised at how good it was.
Bella: Jacob damn! How did you do that ?
Jacob: No bad words at the table Bella, originally it's a French recipe that I modified a little. Cooking is also one of my little pleasures.
(he only became interested in it during the summer and in addition to his crazy learning abilities, his superhuman flair and taste allowed him to be much more precise and imaginative than normal humans. He had enormously energy so doing several activities was fun for him)
They ate while chatting about everything and nothing before finally leaving after Charlie, Jacob as promised drove Bella to her school and when they arrived, all eyes were on Jacob who was totally hot, he lifted his motorcycle which was in the back of the pick-up to put her on the ground as if it had no weight, the amazement of everyone and especially Bella. He said goodbye to her before driving to work.
As Bella was walking, Jessica came to talk to her.
"Who was that handsome brunette?! He's just too hot and his eyes"
Bella: Hi Jessica, it's Jacob, I introduced you last year at La Push beach.
Jessica: Is that him?! The guy from the reserve?! He was handsome at first but now he's a real wolf.
Bella: It's true that he's special, he came to the house to help my father. Shall we go to class?
They rushed as the bell rang to join the classes.
