Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. ~Chapter 45~

She quietly sighed. She was slowly losing any feeling in her hands that were holding her back. "My hands are freezing," she informed, breathing out cold air.

"Then you should let go, before you actually lose your hands." Her response came with the same icy air that coldly surrounded her. Sereia stepped forward to see her mother. "That's enough"

Lady Gwen threw a hard glare at her daughter. "Please," she added immediately. Lady Gwen sighed as she flicked her wrist out and over the ice slowly. Soon enough, the entire ice had melted, and the living room came back to its normal appearance.

Yeona noticed her hands weren't frozen anymore, as they previously were. She looked up to see lady Gwen and Lady Samara staring down at her. Was she in trouble? She wouldn't know. These two women were terrifying to be around. And it was weird because she had been around Lady Gwen for a while, {if not a while, at least of a day}. She wasn't this cold to her, but now she was… She also didn't know lady Samara's attitude to judge her… so she correlated it to her general personality.

She now feared for the worst, as she didn't know how to react to her given situation. Yeona heard a painful grunt beside her. She turned to look at the person, expecting it to be one of her step-sisters, but to her surprise it was Marina. She immediately ran to her aid.

"Marina? Marina!?" She called out as she began shaking her lightly.

"I am fine. I just need to catch my breathing a bit." She answered, placing a hand over Yen's own.

Her brows furrowed deeply, creating sharp lines of frustration across her forehead.

She was frustrated.

No tired.

She was stressed from the entire night through the day and now the lady's visit, "What do you mean 'You are fine?' You are in clear pain," she cried out, trying to reason with her.

"I really am fine" Marina tried to make her voice sound less stress and void of pain. She threw an unconvincing smile at Yen.

Yeona's lips pursed into a tight line. She exhaled sharply, the sound almost closely linked to a hiss of annoyance.

She whipped around, eyes narrowed into a thin slit as and sent a hard dagger at the two noble guests. "Get out" Her words were low and barely even audible. Still, something told her they heard.

But regardless, she repeated it, "GET OUT!! GET OUT RIGHT NOW!!" She shouted, pointing towards the door. Lady Gwen and Lady Samara had a stunned look on their faces. Yeona's eyes change from its usual color to a much more vivid and neon type of color. Even though it was still daylight outside, they could see the clear, vivid shade of her eyes.

Lady Samara stepped forward, trying it to quell the situation. "We sincerely apologize for our attitude. It was just that her statement annoyed us, and we were quick to anger" She was calm and chose her words well. It was not a surprise. After all, she was a teacher of elegance and grace. Speaking to cool one's mind was as easy as breathing cool air.

But Yeona was far from it. "What?" she asked. Her fist clenched at her sides, nails digging deep into her palms. It felt like a storm was brewing from within her the more she spoke.

With each breath, her chest heaved, trying to suppress the rage that was waiting to be spewed out.

"That is the very least of my concern. What does your anger have to do with Marina?! You caused her pain for no good reason. If you hated the Rutherfords so much, you could have just ignored them. They are not worth your time, but you had the nerve to hurt Marina!!"

"Yeona listen—"

"No! OUT!! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE RIGHT NOW!!!. You claim to be friends with my parents, but you couldn't even keep your decency in their own house. GET OUT RIGHT NOW!!!" She screamed at them.

Without control of their limbs, they turned around and began walking towards the door. This came as a shock to the four Aswinesian women present.

Was Yeona forcing their movement?

But she hasn't opened her entropy sorcery. So how could she control two high-level sorceresses, who fought in the S.A. D war for the past six hundred years?

Sereia came close to her friend and shook her body. "Yen, stop it!"

But was it almost as if she was in a trance? "Yen?" She called. She stepped around her to her front and stared at her face. Her eyes were still the vivid purple that they were, but something that was off. Although Sereia was standing in front of her, but it looked like she was looking past her.

She turned around to see her mother and Lady Samara close to the kitchen entrance. Immediately turning around, she went to their front to stop their movement.

Marina forced herself up and grabbed Yeona's eyes, covering them, before she whispered.

"Sleep" Immediately on command, Yeona's body went limp, and she fell backwards into Marina's arms.

Once she went to 'sleep', Lady Gwen and Lady Samara stopped walking and practically crumbled to their feet.

Their breathing became haggard and strenuous. They slowly but steadily got back their strength. When they returned to the living room, they met an unconscious girl asleep on the floor.

"I guess she also has her mother's temper," Lady Gwen stated, breaking the silence that lingered around them.

"Mom, no more fights. That's enough," Sereia commanded. Her eyes were steady and focused.

Sigh, 'You are annoyingly like your father', She muttered beneath her breath.

"I understand." She replied, brushing her daughter's head. She turned around, nodding to Lady Samara. She stood in front of the Rutherford women.

They had been in a state of stupor from the moment the noble women's rage came.

Lady Gwen lifted her hands to place on their head, but she paused halfway, before dropping her hands down, "You should take Yen to the Carriage"

"Carriage?" Marina and Sereia said, simultaneously.

"Yes. We have so much to tell her." She sighed again, rubbing her temple. "This wasn't supposed to happen. We planned on picking the both of you, going to breakfast and when the mood of right, we planned on telling Yen all about Aswines. But now—" She let her words slide as she gave the sleeping girl a glance.

"By taking her to the carriage, it would give her less chance to argue with us. Because I highly dough she would want to be around us again".

"Is she the type to keep malice?" Lady Samara asked, squatting to the floor to brush the hair from Yeona's face.

"I don't know. I haven't known her for a long time to get her this angry. Both of you deserve a reward for the fastest woman to get someone pissed within an hour".

"You want a smack on the head?" Her mother asked, not bothering to look at her. Sereia awkwardly turned to Marina, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Why don't we take her to the carriage?"

Sighing for the nth time that day, Lady Gwen placed a hand over their heads, and they immediately woke up.

They looked around, looking very dumbfounded, not knowing what to do or what even happened.

They noticed Yeona, Sereia and Marina were not with them, but Evangeline did not want to put much thought into it. She was more concerned about having her daughters be enrolled into Lady Samara's classes or having herself be invited to Lady Gwen's elegant tea parties.

"Not to be impolite, but I would love to have my daughters be enrolled in your lessons. As you can see, they don't know much of the social class etiquette. As their mother, I fear, they would be eaten instantly if they were to step into that world." She begged, wiping invincible tears from her eyes. Her twin girls weren't any different from her, as they also brought out the fake tears, hoping for sympathy.

The women only stared at them, wanting to see how long they willingly drag this pity party that they were holding for themselves. And not surprisingly, they continued it.

"And also, if it's not too much to ask," Evangeline began again, wiping the tears from her eyes as she began speaking, "I would love to be invited to one of your tea parties, I genuinely would like to have a good and friendly relationship with you," She smiled sweetly as she held onto the palm of Lady Gwen's hands.

Friends?

She wanted to be friends, but she openly threw herself at her husband?

Unreasonable.

Wanting to leave the house soon rather than later. Lady Gwen pulled her hands away from hers, wiping it as she spoke. "I will see if I ever have an extra invitation to throw away" Her words were clearly out of mockery, but being a complete illiterate to the societal world and their term of language, Evangeline truly believed that she had won the heart of Lady Gwen and would soon receive an invitation on her doorsteps.

"I am truly grateful for your continuous gratitude"
