Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. ~Chapter 6~

"WHAT DID SHE say her name was again?" she wondered to herself. "I know it starts with an S. Savannah? Sofia? Seraphina? Oh, whatever. She will just have to say it again".

Slowly, she applied the water onto her skin, relishing the thrill and the chill of the cool night weather. It felt like heaven on earth.

Sereia stepped into the mountain entrance.

"Has she arrived yet?" She asked no one in particular. Humming to herself as she walked further into the mountain. Arriving at the center of the mountain, she saw Yeona's figure bathing in the pool. She sat down on a stone rock and watched her. She had thin scar marks on the majority of her back. They weren't all that visible, only if you look closer.

"Can you stop staring at my back? It is very uncomfortable" Yeona stated, slowly turning her head to look at Sereia.

"Oh? You knew I was here?"

Rolling her shoulders, "It wasn't hard to, and it wasn't like you were trying to be quiet. However, if you were, then you performed poorly"

"Ah yes, whatever, come out from the water. Aren't you cold?" She asked worriedly.

"Sarah, are you worried about me?" Yeona teased as she came out of the pool.

"Who is Sarah?"

"I thought that was your name?"

"No it's not. It is Sereia".

"I knew it started with an S, but I couldn't remember what it was. This afternoon happened like a breeze for me. So I sincerely apologize for forgetting your name".

She gave a dismissive gesture with her shoulders, indicating that she didn't care about her forgetfulness or mistake. "I don't care about that. And I understand your thoughts about this afternoon's events. Now can you come out of the water, Just placing my feet in it is making me feel a little cold" She added the last part with a worried voice.

"Okay, Okay, I was just enjoying the mild sensation on my skin" Yeona giggled a bit, and she slowly made her way out of the water.

Sereia watched her as she did so, but suddenly, a gasp escaped from her lips as her eyebrows shot up in shock.

A look of disbelief washed over her face, and worry was evident in her widened eyes. This expression didn't go unnoticed by Yeona.

"What's wrong? You have never seen a naked woman come out of the water before?" She teased the second lady with her. "Don't worry too much, we have the same body structure, just different sizes and proportions."

"That is not why I am staring at you" Sereia spoke, ready to wave her off

"So, why are you staring at me. It is making me feel uncomfortable right now".

"Excuse me for my behavior and expression, but Yeona what is that?" Sereia asked, pointing to her abdomen.

Looking at what she was pointing at, she inwardly groaned. She completely forgot about it.

On her abdomen was an intricate tattoo design. It looked so serene that she sometimes caught herself staring at it in the mirror whenever she was dressing or undressing.

At the center of her abdomen, just below the rib cage, a delicate and enchanting crescent moon shines with a very faint and soft glow. The crescent moon was adorned with intricate filigree patterns, reminiscent of ancient Aswines and Arcane symbols mixed.

The curves of the moon blended seamlessly with the flowing, graceful line that extended outward, wrapping around the sides of the torso.

Little stars were scattered along the lines, shimmering in a luminescent in that glowed softly, even under the dim light from the moon that reflected over the mountain. Above the crescent moon, nestled between the ribs, a single elegant pair of wings emerges, unfolding like that of an angel. The tattoo is primarily in shades of black, soft gold, and gentle purples. It created a mesmerizing effect on her abdomen.

In other words, the tattoo was beautiful and so surreal. Sera reached forward to touch it, but Yeona immediately slapped her hands away. It was not very harsh tho.

"Can you not touch me when I am still naked? It is creepy" Yeona stated, pulling on her clothes and fixing herself a bit more.

Taking a seat beside Sereia she placed her basket of plums between them.

"You want some?" She offered.

"I did rather you tell me what that is?" Sereia asked, but she collected the plums from her. Taking a bite from the fruit, its juice trailed down the corner of her lips, which she wiped with the sleeve of her dress.

Yeona threw her head to the back as she looked at the opened space over the mountain. She watched the moon for a little while till she breathed out.

She could tell her. With all the crazy things Sereia had informed in that afternoon, her tattoo wouldn't freak her out.

"Truthfully, I woke up and saw it there," She said, throwing the plum seed into the pool as she picked the last one. She ate that fruit in one swoop.

"Huh?" Sera sounded with a confused tone in her voice. But she didn't say more of that, so she could continue explaining.

"Yes, It happened suddenly six years ago. Back then, my parents were still alive, and I was fifteen at that time".

"Oh, you are 21?"

"Yes. You?"

"22"

"Should I continue?"

"Yes, Sorry for the intrusion"

"So that fateful day, I was learning embroidery by myself. I was self-taught by the way. Suddenly I felt this sharp pain in my abdomen. At first, I thought it was just normal abdominal pain, but it soon got worse. It was almost as if someone was forcing a writing onto my belly" She began telling her story, causally rubbing the tattoo.

Continuing, "Of course, I was screaming my lungs out, My mother and father rushed into the room to see me crumbling and withering in pain. Soon enough, there was a pool of blood dripping from my abdomen to the floor. But strangely enough, the puddle didn't spread nor slip around the way normal liquid would. It stayed on my feet forming a puddle, it was as if the ground was soaking up the blood as the pain began. My mom and dad came close to me, but if I remember clearly, I do remember my mom chanting some words."

"I soon began to feel light-headed and I passed out. I really don't remember what happened next, but when I woke up, my mom was placing a wet rag on my forehead and my dad was pacing back and forth in my room worriedly".

"I looked at my abdomen and that's when I saw it. I asked my mom what happened to the blood, and if she cleaned it, but she just stared at me and said it was soaked up by the ground".

"For some reason, I believed her. Because why would she lie and say the ground soaked up my blood?" Yeona paused her story to watch Sereia's facial expression and body language.

Sera looked shocked and intrigued about the entire story. There was no condemning look on her face and she didn't inch away from her, but instead, she edged closer to her wanting to hear more.

"So did your mom know what it meant?" Sereia asked, her golden eyes bright with curiosity.

"Yes, actually she did. But she said it would be better to let me know when I got older. But as you can see, that would not be possible anymore," She said, looking deep into the pool. She hated talking about her mom, Not because she didn't like her.

No.

On the contrary, she loved her mom and would do anything to see her and hug her. She spoke to her like she was speaking to her peers. She did miss her mom, even more than her dad.

"The surprising the about the tattoo is that even though I bled, there was no wound or scar, it was a clean beautiful tattoo"

"Does your stepparent know about it?"

"The only reason they would ever know is if they see me naked which is not possible" She stated throwing the plum seed into the water. Placing her basket in between them, they began eating Sereia's meal.

"So tell me about Aswinesian"
