Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. ~Chapter 34~

"But My lady, Lady Samara, is here to see you"

"Samara?" She questioned.

"Don't tell me you forgot I was coming over, did you?" A sarcastic silky voice suddenly spoke.

Lady Samara Tenebris is a striking figure, with flowing locks of reddish colored brown hair cascading down her back like a waterfall. Her eyes, a mesmerizing shade of deep green.

She has a glint of enticement in them, anytime something intrigues her thoughts or front view. Though she looked delicate and docile but best assured, she was strong. Her facial features were graceful, framed by high cheekbones and a smooth jawline.

Samara's skin bears the faintest hint of a golden tan, suggesting hours spent under the sun's gentle caress during her travels.

A small feather and cloud tattoo adorns the nape of her neck, a symbol of her connection to the esoteric summoning world.

The maid spread around preparing desserts for the newly arrived guests. Lady Samara smiled at Lady Gwen, who let out an exaggerated sigh as she softly tapped the seat beside her.

"Make it quick, I need to pick up my daughter and her friend"

Samara's flowing gown was designed from the rich deep green silk that shimmers as she moved to the available seat.

The gown is adorned with silver embroidery along the hem and cuffs.

Over her gown, she drapes a velvet cloak in a shade of midnight blue, fastened at the neck with a silver clasp shaped like a fluff cloud. The cloak billows gracefully behind her.

On her feet, she wears soft leather boots adorned with delicate silver filigree, allowing her to move with silent grace. Around her waist, a supple leather belt held various pouches that contained things that were only known to her.

"Oh, I see. So how is my lovely Sereia doing?"

"She is coping, she is learning and also being more interested in entropy Sorcery a lot more than I thought."

"I see. Tell her to visit me soon. I have something for her." This statement immediately got the mother worried. She was already on edge with the chills she felt last night.

Her eyes glare hard at her guest. "What thing?"

Samara only rolled her eyes at her and replied, "It is something that would help the girl with her sorcery"

"I doubt she needs something like that," Lady Gwen mentioned as she bit into her cake.

"Why?"

The mother sighed, standing up from the chair. She closed the two doors leading into the rooms and the kitchen for privacy, "She has mastered the spells, she can easily teleport anywhere there is available liquid".

"Liquid!! Not water?"

"Yes Liquid, not water. I could pour this wine on the floor and have her teleport from it".

"HOW HARD ARE YOU TEACHING THE LITTLE GIRL!!" Lady Samara yelled, slamming her hands hard on the table to the point it had cracks on them.

Lady Gwen sighed for the nth time since Lady Samara's visit.

"I barely teach her anything. I tell her to read a particular book on Entropy, but when I return to teach her, she would have gone far and beyond from"

The room went silent for some seconds before Lady Gwen continued, "She can also hydro-seek"

Once those words came out of Lady Gwen's lips, Samara's eyes widened in response.

"I worry about your daughter"

"It would be fine," Gwen said calmly. It was more of a reassurance to herself than to Samara.

The two ladies went mute, each reverencing in their thoughts of the entire situation.

A clap pulled Samara from her trailing thoughts. "So, care to explain the reason for your visit?"

Samara's eyes lit up at the realization that she had forgotten the reason for her visit.

"Oh!! That's right!!" She suddenly exclaimed, "Did you know Claire has a daughter?"

The suspicion suddenly became palpable in Gwen's eyes.

"Your silence gives everything away. So why didn't you tell me about her?"

"How did you know?!" Gwen countered back.

"No! I ask the questions right now, not you. So tell me, why did you hide the girl from me?"

"Can't hide something I never knew about"

"That is a lot of nonsense and you know it. You, Claire's best friend, consultant, and lady-in-waiting, didn't know that she had a child?"

"I don't care if you believe me or not. But {pause} I too just found out. Do with that information what you wish to do with it".

Samara's eyes went wide with anger, and her entropy flared up in aggression. But Gwen simply countered it.

"Now, tell me how you found out about her daughter?"

"Why should I? You don't seem eager to tell me also," Samara persisted.

"Alright then. It was Sereia that found her. " Her response wasn't something she had expected.

"Sereia found her? How?" She asked, calming her nerves down.

"She went to the market and found her there"

"Just like that?" Gwen shrugged her answer.

"It wasn't like she was actively searching for her, she just found her, and she is with her at the moment"

"WHAT!? RIGHT NOW!!" Lady Samara exclaimed all of a sudden.

Lady Gwen gave her a pointed look, but it didn't faze the sorceress.

"You know her home? Let us go then!!"

"Not until you tell me from whom or how you found out," Lady Gwen said with determination. She wasn't planning on moving from her chair until Samara told her everything.

Samara, seeing as Gwen wasn't going to budge from her chair, sat down back on hers and bounced her legs in agitation.

"I don't, but I woke up suddenly with a head-splitting ache, it was as though someone was aggressively focussing information into my brain"

Gwen's brows formed a worried crease. "Are you alright?" She questioned, worry evident in her voice.

"I don't even know what to make of the entire event, but I was passed out for three whole days, so my maids told me"

"WHAT? THREE FULL DAYS!!?"

"Yes, and those memories were all from the event from SAD," Samara said nothing as she recalled the warful times of her years.

Shaking her head to remove the terrible thoughts, she looked back at Gwen, who was patiently waiting for her to continue her story.

"I remembered everything. You remember Claire was pregnant during the war?" She asked, and Gwen nodded positively to the question.

"I had given birth a year before the war started"

"Yes!! That was true, but suddenly when we arrived at Voudia, I suddenly forgot the existence of Claire's daughter till three days ago".

"That means Claire did something to us?" Gwen inquired, wanting some sort of confirmation.

"That's I believe. I spent my entire night trying to summon her through the wind, but she would only giggle and cut off the summon," This new piece of information piqued Gwen's interest.

"She answered you?"

"I won't call it answered but, I know she was there, she came every time I called and would only giggle and cut the summon and this would go on, on repeat. It was like playing with a little child".

Gwen thought for a second and replied, "Maybe she just doesn't want to tell us anything yet"

"Despite that, think about it, I have never heard of a spell that last even after the death of the caster unless it was spelled by the gods"

Gwen knew she was right, but she wasn't surprised.

"Well, it isn't any surprise after all Claire was extremely close with the Gods and also-" Gwen calmly began to state, "Have you forgotten just how powerful Claire was? There is no doubt she would have done everything to keep her daughter and husband out of harm's way".

They both thought of the S.A.D war and all Claire had sacrificed for her family, friends, people, and even the gods. They would forever be debited to her, even after their death.
