Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. Diysus Bleeds

Editing in Progress…

~Chapter 38~

Bunasis came around him, gently placing her head on his, and immediately her powers took effect. Diysus's painful groans and mumbles went mute, and even the blood immediately dried from his face.

The only evidence that the immortal god had bled was the puddle of blood that formed beneath Sephtis feet.

Bunasis let out a sigh of relief after the entire throne room had got silent. No more screams, no more mumbling and groaning, and also no more barking.

Astus sent a menacing glare towards the spectators. This immediately sent shivers down their spine as they took heed and left the god's presence.

"What in tarnation is going on here!!" Astus raised his voice. He was angry, confused, and fearful. Honestly, his feelings were all over the place and unstable.

Bunasis sat on the blood-stained floor, stressed and exhausted from the entire ordeal, and what she needed was a good and hard nectar that would keep her mentally sane.

Fuming, he grabbed her shoulders and aggressively shook her, "ANSWER ME!!" He fired directly into her face.

They heard sounds of distant thunder and the Alverton Summit clear sky was riddled with flashes of short and long lighting.

The Cerberus began growling as it kept its three sets of eyes on Astus. It made low and soft steps towards his master. To him, its priority was not to the two other gods present, nor even to the one who was unconsciously sound asleep on the floor.

His first and only priority was to his master. The flashes of lightning and sounds of thunder continued, till Sephtis placed a gentle hand on his brother.

But it was only for a moment before the once gently hand turned hard and pushed him to a shove. He had aggressively detached his brother away from the Goddess of sleep.

"Hold your anger and find your peace. Getting angry would do nothing for us right now," he cautioned, standing in front of Bunasis as she tried regaining some sort of mental footing.

"I must have misheard you, Sephtis," Astus taunted as he took steps, coming closer to him.

Sephtis stood still, not fearing or backing down.

"My brother is on the floor, in his puddle of blood, and you say to be calm? Are you listening to yourself right now?"

"He is my brother also"

"Well, I can see the obvious concern you have for him. It shows" his sarcastic comment earned him an eye roll for a response.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Sephtis. It was not as though he was emotionally absent. It was all because we had seen so many deaths that another one was only a pile on his counts.

After all, he was the ruler of the underworld. Where do all the dead souls, good or bad, go to? So he had seen more than enough to let his emotion loose.

And besides, besides, Diysus wasn't dead.

Bunasis, finally getting herself, made a move to stand between the brothers. "Diysus is not dead. I made it before could die. For now, he is asleep".

"Asleep?" Astus inquired.

"Yes, Asleep, and it would be cumbersome to wake him up."

"Why?" Sephtis asked. He knew Bunasis more than the other gods and goddesses put together. She does her duties sedulously. And he knew for a fact that if Bunasis appeared before or immediately after a person had a dream, that simply shows the importance of the dream.

"Because it is the key to getting our memories back"

The two gods had completely forgotten about one other crucial topic during the meeting that day. And it was the fact that none of them, not even Diysus, remembered that he had a mate.

"Memories about his mate?" Astus asked calmly.

Sephtis took notice of Astus' sudden change in tone, mood, and body posture.

The topic or even the mention of 'mates' still gets an authentic reaction from him, and he knows why. Though he does not know the feeling of losing a mate, nor does he want to know. After all, he was still currently looking for ways to kill himself.

But still looks like it is still taking a deep toll on him.

"Yes," she answered, then moved closer to him as she brushed his hair away from his face, looking at his sleeping eyes.

"If I am right, well, I know I am, but he should be dreaming of her."

"Dreaming of her?"

"Yes. " Standing up to her full height, she turned to her fellow gods, a finger pointed at Diysus, and a loose smooth smile resonated across her lips.

"Diysus mate is back and alive"

This declaration earned a wide-eyed look across the man's face.

🌗

Diysus blinked his eyes, trying to remove the lingering sleep from it. He soon felt a weight on his arm.

A woman.

Not just any woman, a naked one.

There was a naked woman on his bed. He lifted the sheets around his waist. The only thing that kept him from being naked was the thin cotton clothes. The sudden movement he had made seemed to do the trick, as the woman had woken from her sleep.

Diysus, however, looked so mesmerized by her. She slowly and calmly rubbed her eyes. Once she was fully woken, a soft smile played on her lips as she stared at Diysus.

She had so much adoration and love laced across her eyes.

His mate.

His love.

His wife.

His Everything.

"Good Morning, my love," She greeted lovingly.

But he didn't reply…yet…

He was still trying to know if it was a dream or real.

"Is this real?" He asked instead.

The woman's eyes widened for a moment, and then the smile came back. With a swift and fluid movement, her glorious naked body was sitting on top of him. She was unclad from her neck to her lower bits, and Diysus didn't shy away from staring at her body.

After all, she was all his.

"Of course it is real, my lord," she replied, softly placing a kiss on his. She had intended on making it a small kiss, but Diysus had other plans.

He locked her in his arms and pressed her head against his, enforcing a much longer and lasting kiss.

She paid no mind to it. After all, this was her lover. He was all hers. He turned them, and soon he was the one towering over her.

Her eyes jolt in surprise as she feels her cheeks get wet from drips of water.

Water?

Tears. Hey, the expression didn't hide the worry that was playing across them.

"What is the matter, my lord?" she asked, hoping he would tell her so she could ease his pain.

"I missed you," He wept softly. She was astonished, to say the least. He missed her? They were together yesternight after attending one of Qhuemis's countless parties. And later into the night, they had mind-blowing and passionate lovemaking.

But here he was, in her arms, weeping silently, with constant mumbling that he missed her, as though he hadn't seen her for centuries.

"It is alright. I missed you, too. " She smiled beautifully at him. He leaned closer to her face, his lips lingering on her as he didn't give her any much delay.

🌗

Diysus felt fingers trail down his locks. It was peaceful and relaxing as he fell deeper into the bliss.

Opening his eyes, he was met face-to-face with his lover, who causally ate grapes and read a book. When she eats a grape, she stocks his hair while reading.

"I see you have awoken," She stated calmly as she smiled at home.

He lifted his head from her legs. He placed a gentle hand on her cheeks and kissed her.

"Well, that is satisfyingly unexpected," She answered.

"Yes, it was"

Her smile fell from her face, which didn't go unnoticed by Diysus.

"Is something wrong?"

"JINX is coming. It had already declared war on us," she began to say. "I worry about you. I don't want to lose you."

"I can't die, and even though I do… I would always come back".

"Then what? I should wait till you get reincarnated?"

He went silent, then he spoke again, "What do you want me to do?"

She took a deep breath, knowing what she would ask for would most likely not be received well or even permitted. "Let me join you"

"NOT EVEN THE SLIGHTEST!!" He shouted, and his shout raised the sea's waters and also caused her to shake.

"My love," she calmly spoke again, but was cut short.

"Don't even say it. It is not up for discussion, and that's final." He angrily walked away.

🌗

"My Dearest love, I am sorry, something like this happened to us. This is beyond my power. But I love you".

She looked down at the gaping in her chest. Diysus had cut off the tail of the beast that had stabbed her, but the wound was so bad, and also besides the fact that the beast's tail was infused with poison.

"Why didn't you listen to me!!" she only smiled?

"I am going to die soon. I don't want my last conversation with you to be only an argument"

"You won't die"

"Demi-Gods die, remember?" she calmly reminded her lover.

His eyes widen at the realization of that fact.
