Twilight in Obsidian

“Please take me with you,” the woman whispered. Her voice was dry and hoarse, her body trembled like a leaf on an unsettled wave. Was it because of the crime she had just committed, or was it because of the aura the man before her gave off? She must be sick, both in and out of the head. Everything in her said not to ask for help, or at least not to ask him for help, nevertheless, here she was bowing her head down before him. “Now, why would I do that?” His dark, airy voice filled her ears. His voice sent shivers down her spine, making her freeze in her spot. Her head sank to the floor, unmoving. “I do anything from cleaning to washing, and cooking,” she said, muttering her words, timidly. The man hunched down to her size and uttered, his breath tickling her neck. “Have you met me before?” “No, but I can—” She began to say, as if he were contemplating her request but was quickly interrupted. “Don't be so quick to sell yourself to death.” Passing through her, he left her to crumble on the ground. °∆° "Did you think I would let you go after I found you? Do you know how long I have waited for this moment?” His voice deepened with each word that fell off his lips. The woman stepped back, not wanting to get close to this terrifying man. “I am being truthful, Your Highness. I don't know you, Your Majesty, our families haven't met for any reason. So please let me go,” she whispered. Her body touched the wall. Now she was stuck between the wall and the terrifying man. “Please, My Lord, I don't know what you are talking about,” She whimpered. He placed his strong hands on her hip, giving it a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears, “I missed you so much, it's been a long while, My love” He placed his head on hers °∆° R18 PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOOK COVER ISN'T MINE, IT WAS FOUND AND REDESIGNED BY ME. ~Chapter 22~

"During the S.A.D war, the six hundred-year war" He muttered with a very low confidence. Truthfully, he didn't want to talk about it to anybody, which was part of his reasons for avoiding Bunasis.

She wasn't nosy, she just did her job expertly.

Too excellent for his liking.

He sighed and went to sit down beside Astus, with Sephtis in front of him. Diysus avoided Astus's gaze, he didn't want his brother preying on his mind, with his questions.

"Can we get back to the topic about JINX of AGONY?!" Maelok's voice bellowed through the room.

Bunasis only rolled her eyes at his dumb antics, "I see the fact, that you have lost your memory is of no importance to you" she spoke, her normal voice radiating calmly across the room.

Maelok bit his lips as he grumbled in audible words under his breath. Bunasis sighed as she went to sit beside her brother, Zahohr, and squeezed his sister's hand as soon as she sat down.

"So, what are we going to do right now?" Oona asked, raising a question at her fellow gods.

"Meaning?" Enlo asked, looking at the female seer with questioning eyes.

"We have three problems that need our attention, I say we vote on which we should pay attention to"

"I vote on JINX, It is too important to let go" Maelok easily jumped on.

Ylrena sighed, rubbing her temples. The goddess of wisdom had grown tired of her fellow gods. How would they measure it?

A vote?

"I vote Diysus mate, I don't like the idea of knowing I have a memory loss," Sylara said with a dry smile, she pushed her wine cup towards Qhuemis to pour in more wine.

"My precious mate is none of your business, it isn't"

"Yes!! It is!"

"Bunasis will we get our memories once he finds his mate?" Zahohr asked his sister.

All the questions were being projected onto Bunasis, only because Diysus didn't look like he would answer when asked. He has made it very clear how he visibly didn't want them to know about it.

"Logically speaking, No"

"Why?"

Bunasis looked at Diysus, who was glaring hard at him.

"Come on, how hard is it to find a mate?" Kenlir asked anxiously, like his counterpart Sylara, he didn't also like the idea of not having his memory.

"Don't say it" Diysus commanded.

Aldall started at his friend with a worried expression, "I have no choice, they already know about it" she retorted back at the god

"That is only because you told them, if you had kept your mouth shut we would only be talking about the damned curse"

"Diysus!!" His fellow god screamed at him. He glared at each one of them before leaning back in his seat. Sephtis looked at his brother with a concerned reflection look. He didn't yell at his brother like the rest of the gods did because he was more worried about him than the other gods.

Why was he against them wanting to know more about his mate? With their help, she could be found, so why was he so vehemently against it? But it wasn't like he could say anything about it, he wasn't better off than him. He wanted to find his mate just so he could kill her.

Therefore, it wasn't in his place to judge what he did with his mate. Also, Sephtis didn't mind that he had memory loss, it wasn't like he had done anything different from six hundred years ago till the present date. So there wasn't much he would be missing.

There were only five gods who didn't yell Diysus's name which included, Sephtis, Oona, Aldall, Hobris, and Astus.

"Bunasis Please continue" Utthos chimed in with a somber tone.

Bunasis nodded her head before looking away from Diysus "Logically speaking, No. And that is because Diysus's mate is dead" she informed in a low whisper.

There was a deafening silence in the room. The fellow gods didn't know what to say, nor even look at.

Should they look at Diysus? Or Should they look at Astus? Astus, who had not said a word since the announcement of Diysus's mate, looked at him with a pained expression.

His wine had slipped from his hands, and Sephtis had to move away so as not to get splashed from it.

"Is that true?" Astus asked, his voice sounding so tired and strained. The words that came off his words were so fragile, almost like asking a child if his wounds hurt.

"Yes," Diysus whispered back.

It hurts… it hurts so bad, the sea god wanted to just crumble. If it hadn't been a heavy backlash, he would have gladly flooded the entire world just to find his lover.

It didn't hurt all those years of her missing because he had forgotten all about her, but right now, the realization of their good times was all forgotten. What was he going to do at this point, she was dead and all he had were only fragments of their time. And it wasn't even the happy ones he could reminisce on.

It was her literal death.

"I see" was all Astus responded to him with.

The rest of the deity sat down, looking very gloomy, it was like the entire mood had dampened. Suddenly, Qhemuis dropped a bottle of wine onto the floor, the shattering sound that was made from it shifted the mood from the dampened state.

"I am so sorry, it just slipped from my hands without control" he whispered like a child who had caused a scene in a burial service. This silly act resulted in muffled laughs from the other gods as they shook their heads at his dumb attitude.

"Back to the conversation," Ylrena began once more, "In my opinion, even though all situations demand attention, we can only do so much to that. Therefore, I agree with Maelok, we should focus our attention on the JINX"

Utthos raised his hands to ask a question, "So what about the person who released the JINX?"

"And our memories?" Sylara interjected immediately.

"What are we going to do about our memories? His mate is dead" Ylrena stated, but immediately added, "May she rest in peace".

"But let's face it, if Bunasis didn't inform us about it, we wouldn't know, because Diysus here clearly didn't want to tell us anything about it. So If it were left to him, we wouldn't know anything about it, till who knows when".

"And as for the person that released the JINX. First and foremost, it was locked up in the human realm. I don't know if there is any human strong enough to release it?" She asked, "Well unless, Orion, Nash, and Lucian, but I highly doubt that" she replied to her question while looking at Astus.

"Therefore, we are looking into the JINX?" Maelok asked.

"Don't get so excited, it is weird" Denira said sharply at the war god.

"I was just confirming"

"Well, you sounded happy"

"I wasn't-"

"As I was saying!!" Ylrena spoke up, dragging on her words. "It was better and more advisable to find a way to end JINX once and for all"

"End JINX? Not seal it?" Lillitha voiced her concerns.

"Yes, Lillitha, end it. Because sealing again may lead to it being released for the second time".

"I see"

"It would be harder, as I remember that the Aswinesian women or the people in general helped us"

"Claire died four years ago and Lint two years after" Astus reported.

"Gwen is also dead?"

"I believe she died during the war" Diysus explained.

Sigh,  "We are really on our own this time around"

The room went quiet as they began thinking about several solutions to the problem

"In regardless" Astus shouted, gaining their attention. The God of all gods stood up from his throne and began pacing around.

"We would defeat the JINX of AGONY. Let us bear in our heart the things it had taken from you, family, friends, loved ones, children, and so on".

"Everyone pride up and gear up, Ylrena see what you can find from the archives, Maelok train your men, Sephtis and Diysus train your forces and this time around, we will surely defeat this curse called JINX of AGONY!!!!."

"Aranthi eldirithen seil telindor!!!" They shouted in their native language, Eltharian.

They soon began leaving one after the other, talking to each other, either about the JINX or something entirely different.

On the spur of the moment, the sequence of things that immediately followed happened all in slow motion. Ylrena strangely placed her hands on the table, gripping it for a while.

"I just remembered something" Ylrena spoke up immediately after the meeting had been concluded.

"Huh?" Zuros uttered, looking at her. Ylrena was still seated on her chair and wasn't making plans to get off.

"I genuinely remember us sealing the Jinx-" she began to say, but was rudely interrupted by Maelok.

"Yeah so what? It's not an unknown news".

"Maybe if you let me finish talking you would understand what I am trying to say much better" The goddess snapped back, with a very distinct irritated voice.

Maelok said nothing as he looked down at her while she spoke,

"As I was saying, The main reason why sealed at Voudia is because gods do not like to mingle around with humans especially when they are not the Aswinesian women"

"So we sealed it down at the human realm and made the god's blood the key"

"So, what are you tying to say, Ylrena?" Sephtis asked.

"What I'm trying to say is that it's only use, the higher gods, who can use our blood to open the jinx seal"

"Therefore, we have a traitor in our midst".

Lexicon

Jinx finds themselves imprisoned within the human realm, a circumstance beyond their control. The sole solution to break this curse lies in obtaining the blood of higher deities. However, immortal beings from Alverton Summit are not inclined to associate with Jinx whatsoever. Thus, it was concluded that the most mutually beneficial arrangement for all divine parties involved is to leave Jinx trapped among humans since they lack godly power and are therefore unable to release them; meanwhile, gods remain reluctant to engage with humanity and thus have little reason to descend into their realm.
