123 Something Very Unexpected

The rest of the group also drew their cold weapons and quickly joined the confrontation. Merle, who was watching the group's performance, saw Tyreese who swung a hammer, with each attack a walker's head ended up smashed.

"That damn giant is a monster!" Smiled Merle with a cynical smile.

On the other hand, Michonne's sword was even more lethal, with a single swing of her sword, all the heads of the walkers that came across it fell to the ground.

In this way, the number of walkers in front of the food store gradually decreased, and the door where the walkers were gathered suddenly opened. Glenn who was on the side guarding the surroundings raised his gun when he saw a group of five people coming out of the store. All of them had guns in their hands and some were even holding a shovel.

But Glenn's guard went down when he saw this group of people joining the fight and started to eliminate the walkers from behind, but the efficiency of these people was much lower than those of his group and apparently they were very exhausted.

In any case, with the participation of five people, the speed of clearing the walkers will be faster. It took about ten minutes, all the street walkers were eliminated by a small group of people.

Merle put away his knife when he saw that everything was resolved, then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the group of five who had come out of the store and said in a hoarse voice, "Hey, hey, hey! Don't move. Just because we saved you doesn't mean we know each other. Who is your leader? Are there any other people in the tent?"

Glenn and the others also raised their guns and pointed them at the five strangers in front of them. Although their intention was to save them, that didn't mean that these are good people.

One of the five people, a black man wearing a jacket, raised his hands and slowly took two steps forward. He looked at Merle's people and politely said, "Hi! My name is Bob Stookey, I'm a military doctor and for now I'm the leader of this team."

"There are still some old people and children in the tent. We have no malicious intentions, but the food near the settlement is out of stock. We want to find a new settlement while there are fewer walkers out.We all thought we would be trapped in this place!"

Merle narrowed his eyes and looked at several people, and finally his eyes landed on the man named Bob, "Call the people in the tent and I'll confirm if what you said is true!"

Bob nodded and said to a woman behind him, "Nicole! Go get them out!"

He then turned his head to look at Merle and said, "Wait a minute, I'll let Nicole call them, it's best not to yell in here."

Merle nodded noncommittally and waved his gun, indicating that the woman could leave.

After a while, six more people came out of the store again, besides Nicole at this time, there were three old men and three children.

The old man is in his sixties. It should be an elderly couple and one more who was in the group. The three children are about five or six years old, two boys and a girl.

Tyreese walked up to Merle and whispered, "Merle, they didn't lie, how bad can a group of survivors be where there are old people and children these days?"

Merle's face remained unchanged, he just looked at Tyreese, didn't speak, then shook his head at Daryl.

Daryl understood, holstered his crossbow and began to search several men. Merle lifted his chin again toward Michonne, and she too stepped forward to check the women.

After confiscating all of these people's weapons, Daryl also found a gun on Bob's body, but there were no bullets in it.

All ten people handed over their guns very cooperatively, and the woman named Nicole also pulled a dagger out of her boot and handed it to Michonne.

Merle finally put the gun away in his hand and said to several people, "I'm sorry! The last time my brother and our leader wanted to save a group of people they almost ended up getting killed. Nowadays you can't trust anyone in this world too much anymore, otherwise we wouldn't be able to live now!"

Bob also nodded with deep understanding and then tentatively asked, "Thank you for your saving grace, we have nothing to pay with, there is still some food in that store, let us give it to you, could you please let us go?"

Michonne had already put her sword away at this point, she looked at the two children and said with a somewhat touched heart, "Merle, we should take them to Airon, he said he was military."

A smile appeared on Merle's face and he said, "You have a chance, I will take you to meet that person, if you can pass the evaluation and he comes to trust you, you will get unexpected benefits and you might even be transported to a base in our community, of course, you can also choose to leave now, I won't stop you, you can choose what to do among yourselves..."

Bob said without hesitation, "We'll go with you!"

Seeing that none of the people had any objections, Merle nodded, but still said, "Then wait here, let's go search the stores and bring supplies back."

...

Some time later Merle asked everyone to search the stores before they were cleared, collecting many supplies. The group found some canned and instant foods, all vacuum packed and some of them hadn't even expired.

Daryl on his side found two packs of cigarettes on the counter, which could be considered a luxury in the last few days. After all, things like wine can only be found in certain stores, and cigarettes are even scarcer.

Daryl couldn't wait to open a box, but was annoyed to find he didn't have a lighter, took the box of cigarettes with some disappointment and followed the crowd back the way they had come.

Airon was busy helping to weld some things on the trailer and everyone's tools were being used non-stop.

Just as Airon was about to start from the other side, he heard Maggie coming from the doorway.

"Airon, you have to come out to see this! Survivors are coming!"

Airon dropped the tools in his hand, and as soon as he stepped out of the factory, he saw more than ten people approaching, but there was one black-skinned man who caught his attention.

"Bob Stookey?" Thought Airon to himself. This is Bob, the same Bob who died from a bite on his leg.

Airon walked casually over to Merle, looked at all these people and asked quietly, "What's going on? They shouldn't have strayed too far from this place, I see they found companions."

Merle briefly explained the matter to Airon. After listening to Merle's presentation, Airon was sure that this person was Bob, and this team should be the last surviving team that Bob stayed with. Now, if it wasn't for their group that rescued them, it was estimated that soon everyone in that group would die except for Bob, reducing their numbers and soon being left alone, after that he would have inevitably arrived at the prison.

Airon nodded and then walked over to the group of survivors and Merle introduced him, "This is our leader, many already call him commander."

Bob, standing at the front, quickly extended his hand and then realized that the other party did not know him, and it seemed inappropriate to shake hands in this situation. He was about to withdraw his hand, but did not expect the other party to extend his hand.

Seeing the commander flash a friendly smile, Bob quickly responded with a smile and then nervously said, "We are very happy that we were found by your group, they are all very strong. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't come in here."

Airon released his hand, patted Bob's shoulder and said, "Bob, right? Just call me Airon. With you being military, I have several bases where I could use your help. We are rescuing all the survivors from Atlanta while we open up new locations. I see you haven't abandoned duty either, I'm happy to know that there are still people who care about the children."

Hearing Airon's words, the expressions on the faces of several people relaxed a little, it seemed that the other party was not hostile towards them, something that made them feel more at ease.

"However, our community has a very strict selection method, so everyone will have to answer a few questions to get a clear idea of their identity."

Bob's heart worried when he heard it, but Airon's next words calmed him down, "Knowing that, I will choose a base to send them to."

Shortly after a list was made of the names and specialties of each of them, Airon received the questionnaires and read them carefully
