112 A Change in Plans

The next morning, Airon gathered everyone in the prison and announced that he would be leaving the prison for an indefinite period of time, so he appointed Rick as the new overall leader of the central base while he is not in this place. 

Regarding the series of changes, the survivors also had their own opinions. Many people agreed with Airon's views. Although they did not have the guts to follow him out of prison, they did agree with his vision for the future. 

Carlos and a young man named Rodolfo in the crowd were together at this time, and the two had different attitudes about this situation so a very heated debate began. 

"Rodolfo, it turns out, was a coward. Last time, you said you would go with the collection team but in the end you stayed behind. What did you say to me at that time? I, for one, was able to get some good stuff and I was able to keep some." 

Carlos paused, then said, "If I hadn't struggled with my fear of walkers, I might not have gotten a lot of good things out of this trip." 

Although Carlos since being rescued by Airon in Atlanta appeared to be a fearful young man, his evolution was slow but steady and even going so far as to participate in the last collection expedition out of prison. 

Rodolfo, next door, was actually embarrassed to have boasted that he would go on an expedition in front of Carlos and said unconvinced: "It's not important whether or not I go with the collection team! Don't you understand? Our leader is going this time. Of course I don't agree with him leaving the prison." 

"Didn't you realize what happened last time? When Captain Airon left the base, there was an accident under the care of Shane and Sam, which resulted in the death of one person. It's not that I don't support him, I just don't think it's good for him to leave." 

Carlos turned his head and snorted as he listened to Rodolfo's brashness, of course he didn't want Captain Airon to leave the base because of his fear. In his opinion, Rodolfo could become a good man in the collection group but he is too fearful. 

"Didn't you hear him, don't you think it's good for him to go out? It's for our future and growth. I also heard that the possibility of requesting to move to a shelter elsewhere might come up, it takes a lot of manpower there and I'm sure that some people from this place will be sent to support."

The two were discussing in hushed tones. Not far behind them, Daryl was leaning against the side of a car, sorting his arrows! 

"I hear you're going out with Airon, is that true?" 

Daryl didn't need to look up to know it was Carol coming, and casually replied without any pause in the movement of his hands. 

"That's right!" 

Carol showed a hesitant expression on her face, and after thinking about it, she said, "Is this really necessary? Is it worth dating him?" 

Daryl's hand movements suddenly stopped, he looked at Carol with an inexplicable look on his face, and his tone became a little indifferent. 

"I seem to be one of the few who know what's going on at the base while others sleep, do you know how many times Airon is in the watchtowers writing reports and keeping an eye out that all is well? Many here don't understand the privileges they live in, instead of worrying about petty things you should consider what you would do to help him." 

After speaking, Daryl took some crossbows and walked to a nearby open space, leaving only Carol standing there in silence. As she thought about everything that had happened before, she felt it was time for her to do something for the group, she shouldn't just stand still in this place and wait for the walls to be strong all the time.

Second S.C.T. shelter in the city of Atlanta. 

The surrounding buildings had been occupied by numerous people since Airon left this shelter to go deal with the problem that was the Governor. He had left Anna and Raul Mendez in charge, who was the soldier that Airon had communicated with right after taking out Dmitry's group. 

Inside the central building of the base, everyone was conducting a meeting to discuss the internal affairs of this base along with Airon. 

"Do you guys think we should still be in this city considering how few people we are?" 

Looking at the people in the room, Raul Mendez could not help but ask as he examined the situation inside this shelter over the past few months. Although the place was perfect, there was a serious problem and that was the large open terrain and weak defenses in the surrounding area. 

Yes, they had sealed off all the surrounding areas with wire fencing and according to Airon, this was enough for the moment but they should consider moving for now to another shelter and abandon the idea of quickly taking over the city of Atlanta. 

Noticing this problem, Airon said over the radio, "If things can get complicated for the time being, we should clear the Georgia Tech University, this university can easily hold five thousand people and the surroundings could be easier to defend than in the big city streets." 

"Considering the problem of the large space and so few people, the base in the city can serve to train our soldiers and let them experience first hand what it is like to survive in the city with numerous walkers." 

Anna, who heard this, interjected and said, "Our scouting party that found small groups of survivors that was still in Atlanta around our settlement, also discovered the part of the city that was destroyed by the military." 

"Considering that we have already cordoned off this refuge, Airon's idea is quite suitable to further expand the territory taken and cleansed of the walkers." A black-skinned man nodded as he listened and analyzed the possibilities. 

In this sense, there would be no losses and it could be considered to have three shelters with the influence of the S.C.T., the shelter in the city of Atlanta could be totally under the control of experienced soldiers who are in charge of having a training point and the new shelter at the Georgia university of technology would be able to house refugees from different parts. 

"Although there are exceptions in our situation, this would not be a loss but fully ensure the safety of our people." 

"That's good..." Anna completely understood the situation, it seemed like a joke to think that they could expand their influence in the city for now. 

"Sir, as you ordered, the safe ground we secured has been focused on factories and large buildings, some factories and grounds have been sealed with as much materials as we could get and right now some people started working on cultivation." 

Hearing this, Airon let out a sound of approval. Even if his people in the city were larger than in the prison, he knew that the possibility of them being destroyed was very great. At first he was calm and confident when he left the shelter in the city of Atlanta working, but everything changed when he wrote the reports about the walkers and how they could play against him with the few people he had. 

Although the shelter in Atlanta now reportedly had over two thousand people, Airon knew the terrain was not favorable. The Georgia College of Technology was a very favorable location, not only did it have all the facilities to survive, but also its grounds could hold over ten thousand people if the space was utilized correctly later on. 

If you consider the land in the surrounding area and work on it like you worked on the prison, that shelter would be much safer to protect than in a giant building. Even so, a group of people would be left to work in specific areas of the city under the care of experienced people and for that Airon would send a group of well trained soldiers. 

As for being worried about those shelters being destroyed, Airon would no longer have to pay attention to it, with Sam Valdez, Shane and Elias working in those places, he was sure that they would be good leaders who would never betray him and could act under pressure in his situation. 

As for the people in Georgia, what will they do? Very easy, weapons maintenance, munitions creation, crop and construction work, medical and communications departments. Everyone, definitely everyone would be working to keep everyone's survival effective. 

There were some very smart people who could think of improving the protective suits now used by the military and guards against the walkers, now it was time to expand the mind and not stop working. 

Thinking about this, Airon who was silent said, "Very soon I will start moving from the central base, I could even send a large number of people who have become accustomed to survival and I could expand everyone's knowledge with hard work."
