Chapter 1.38

Orion's first stop was at the witches' house. As he approached, he spotted Stefan and Damon trying to get inside but hitting a roadblock due to the lack of an invitation. Not in the mood for headaches, Orion decided to bypass the formalities and casually snapped both their necks before entering the house.

As he stepped into the house, Orion made a beeline for the basement where the coffins were stashed. Walking past the coffins, he couldn't help but sense the palpable aura of dark magic. Continuing on, he reached the coffin made of the darkest wood, and with a hint of sarcasm in his voice, he muttered, "Let's see what you've got." Siphoning the barrier spell, he opened the coffin, and Esther lay in all her glory.

Before making any contact with Esther, Orion called out for Emily. She materialized right before him, inquiring about his needs.

Orion looked at her, puzzled, and asked, "Why does Esther still have access to the Bennett magic?"

Emily gazed at Orion with a thoughtful expression, her brow furrowed in contemplation.

"Esther... she's found a way to cling onto that magic, no matter how much we've tried to sever it. It's like a stubborn weed in a garden. We've weakened her connection, but she's retained some remnants of it," Emily explained.

Orion nodded, his expression growing more resolute. "We can't have her wielding that power. It's too dangerous. We need to find a way to cut her off completely. Can you help with that?"

"I'll do my best, but it won't be easy. We're dealing with ancient, formidable magic here. It might take some time, but I'll work on a solution," Emily replied

Orion contemplated momentarily and then suggested, "How about we gather the other witches in the house and anyone with Bennett's blood or allies  on the other side and have them collectively suppress Esther, preventing her from gaining any more power or influence?"

Emily's eyes brightened with the idea. "That could work. Unity is our strength, and together, we might have a chance to end her resurgence".

After Emily left to spread the word among the Bennett witches and their allies, Orion took decisive action. He reached into his jacket pocket and retrieved three vials. With a resolute expression, he took Esther's arm and, using his own magic, carefully made a cut to draw her blood. The crimson liquid flowed into the vials, filling them to the brim.

Once he had what he needed, Orion swiftly healed Esther's wound and closed her coffin. He concealed the vials and Mikael's ashes beneath the staircase, casting several concealment spells to keep them hidden from prying eyes.

After completing his preparations, Orion placed a call to Klaus and disclosed the location of the coffins. He fabricated a convincing tale about how he stumbled upon them, weaving a lie to explain their discovery.

Orion couldn't help but feel pretty pleased with himself like he'd managed to kill two birds with one stone. He'd gained some trust from Klaus, and he'd also got the blood he was after. It was a good day's work, all things considered.

Once the Coffins were collected, Orion made his way to whittmore, he took Cal along with him, and both made their way there.

Orion also enlisted Slater's help to access Whitmore College's database. With their combined efforts, they managed to procure Olivia Parker's schedule. Orion meticulously planned his next move.

He strategically bumped into Liv, causing the books in his hands to tumble. Orion quickly knelt to help her pick them up, handing Liv the books with a charming smile. She stammered an apology, but Orion, with a flirtatious edge, assured her it was no big deal.

"Hey, no worries. Accidents happen," Orion said, his gaze lingering on Liv.

With some well-placed flirting, Orion managed to discreetly pluck a strand of Liv's hair as the conversation continued.

Orion carefully placed the strand of hair in a small plastic bag and secured it in his pocket. The first phase of his plan was completed, and he was now ready to move on to the next step.

Orion made his way to Max Westfield's office, and upon arrival, he knocked on the door. Max asked about his identity, to which Orion replied.

"Don't worry about my name. Tell me where you're keeping Lorenzo St. John." Orion said

Max seemed startled and attempted to dismiss Orion from his office, but Orion swiftly halted that notion with a silencing spell.

Orion leaned forward, his voice laced with a no-nonsense tone as he pressed further, "Look, Max, we can do this the easy way, or we can do it the hard way. Your choice."

He placed his fingers On Max's temples and dug through his mind.

Max, writhing in pain, clenched his teeth and finally yielded, "Fine, fine! I'll tell you, just make it stop!"

Orion didn't waste a second. He released the painful grip on Max's mind, allowing the man to regain his composure.

"There, Max, that wasn't so hard, was it?" Orion remarked smugly, having obtained the information he was after.

Max rubbed his temples and shot Orion resentfully, "You people... you're all the same. You think you can just waltz in here and do as you please."

Orion simply shrugged, unfazed by Max's complaint. "We only waltz in when we need something, Max. Remember that."

Max led Orion to the whittmore house, specifically the basement. As they reached the basement, Max moved to jab a syringe into Orion.

Orion swiftly reacted. He dodged Max's attempt, and in seconds, Orion overpowered him. With a forceful grip, he slammed Max's head against the wall, rendering him unconscious.

Dragging Max with his magic, Orion continued down the basement passage; his eyes darted around, catching the flickering light from the occasional bulb hanging from the ceiling.

In due time, Orion's stroll led him to his long-awaited prize. There, locked in one of the cages, sat Enzo, who stared at Orion with surprise and doubt. Orion's lips curled into a casual smirk as he greeted his old acquaintance.

"Well, well, look who we've got here," he quipped,
