Prologue

Levi Miller was an orphan, a lone soul without parents or close companions. His days were a monotonous cycle of work and solitary evenings. Most of his free time was spent in front of the TV, immersing himself in his favorite shows like "The Vampire Diaries" and its captivating spin-offs, as well as "Teen Wolf" and anything else piqued his interest.

Levi had spent most of his life feeling pretty down. He was often sad and frustrated with himself and the world. He tried his best to connect with people, but it felt like there was this invisible wall he just couldn't break through, no matter how hard he tried.

He really wanted to make those connections, you know? Levi went to therapy, read self-help books, and even gave support groups a shot. But that barrier was like an unbreakable force field, keeping him at arm's length from everyone else.

His struggle with depression made him cranky at times, and he'd get mad at himself for being unable to shake it off. He'd blame the universe for not giving him the happiness and connection he desperately craved.

Levi found solace in the shows he watched; they were his sanctuary. When he immersed himself in those episodes, it was like a brief escape from the heaviness of his life. During those moments, he felt like his true self, free from the weight of depression and the barriers that plagued him.

It was like hitting pause on all his life problems when he hit play and dived into those episodes. For those precious moments, Levi could just be Levi, no depression, no barriers, just him and the screen.

Those shows were like his happy place. They made him laugh, cry, and feel part of something awesome. The characters and stories felt like old pals who got him in ways people sometimes couldn't.

As time passed, Levi found that his beloved TV shows couldn't do the trick. The depression was like this relentless beast, slowly consuming him, piece by piece. He reached out and yelled for help, but nobody was listening. Not his therapist and, indeed, not the people around him.

Things got so tough that he just wanted the pain to end. So, he made a tough decision and took matters into his own hands. He bought some pills, hoping they would end his suffering.

Levi's funeral took place in a secluded corner of the cemetery with an eerie quietness devoid of any mourners. The wind whispered through the trees, and the gravestones stood as silent sentinels, bearing witness to this solitary farewell.

As the casket was lowered into the ground, there was no crowd to share stories or offer condolences. The breeze carried the pastor's words away, unheard by any grieving friends or family.

Days turned into weeks, and yet Levi's gravesite remained untouched by visitors. There were no bouquets, no tearful goodbyes,

Henry Parker was born to Lucy Parker On May. 25, 1996.

Sixteen years had passed, and Levi, not Henry, was absolutely loving his new life, and there was one thing he'd been craving in his past life—a loving mother. Lucy was everything he'd ever hoped for. She sang him to sleep, stayed with him, and showered him unconditionally.

Their bond was a constant source of joy for Henry. It filled a void he'd carried for as long as he could remember. It didn't bother Henry one bit despite not knowing who his father was. He had his loving mother, and that was all he needed.

Of course, Henry realized he was in the vampire diaries, but the plot had already started, and he didn't care much for it; he stayed in Oregon with his mother.

Magic was a fun concept if you could generate it on your own, but  Henry was a siphoner. His mother had given him a pendant with some of her magic in it to practice minor spells. A rush of energy and euphoria that left him craving more. He felt like a void that only magic could fill.

Tonight was particularly special for Henry—his birthday, and he couldn't contain his excitement. He had a whole day planned out to celebrate this special occasion. First on the agenda was a delightful breakfast with his mom, Lucy, at his favorite spot. Then, they were off to the carnival, where they would enjoy the various rides and games most of the day. Finally, they would head back home to cap off the festivities with a delicious birthday cake.

A few months had passed, and Henry was just hoping for a peaceful, happy life with his mom. But then came the gut punch: stage 4 lung cancer. Chemo didn't cut it, and surgery was off the table. All they could do was wait it out and hope for the best.

Henry kept encouraging his mom to fight, but he could see it in her eyes. She'd given it her all, but cancer was winning, no doubt about it. It was heartbreaking, but he stuck with her through thick and thin.

They had their moments, reminiscing about the good times and the dreams they'd had together. They'd binge-watch her favorite movies, swap stories, or just chill together in peaceful silence.

Even as things got tougher, Henry's mom showed amazing strength. And he had to be strong, too, to support her through it all.

Lucy couldn't bear to keep the secret any longer, and as her time grew shorter, she realized the importance of sharing the truth with Henry. She sat him down and handed him a picture of herself with Henry's biological father, Niklaus Mikaelson. She began, "Henry, there's something I need to tell you. This man in the picture is Niklaus Mikaelson. We met in New York, and we had some good times together. But eventually, he left, leaving behind a significant gift – you."

Henry looked at the photograph, a mix of surprise and curiosity in his eyes. Lucy continued, "Niklaus, he's a part of your history, and I want you to know about your biological father. I should have talked to you about it a long time ago, but I couldn't find the right moment. With my time running out, I no longer want this secret to burden you."

Henry stared at the photograph of his biological father, Niklaus Mikaelson, his mind racing with mixed emotions. He had so many questions, but he could see the sincerity in his mother's eyes as she shared this long-hidden secret with him.

Lucy sighed, her eyes filled with a mixture of regret and relief. "I wanted to, Henry, but I was afraid of how you'd react, of what it might mean for you. I didn't want this revelation to define or change how you saw yourself.

Lucy opened up to Henry, explaining her reasons for keeping the truth about his biological father a secret for so long. She looked at him earnestly and said, "Henry, I want you to understand why I kept this hidden. Your father, Niklaus Mikaelson, is a dangerous man with countless enemies. I didn't want that kind of life for you. I didn't want you to be hunted or burdened with the Mikaelson name. My only wish was for you to grow up safe, surrounded by love, and free from threats."

Henry nodded, absorbing his mother's words. He could see the love and concern in her eyes, and he appreciated her efforts to protect him. "I get it, Mom," he replied. "You did what you thought was best for me. And I'm grateful for the love and safety you've provided."

Lucy sighed with relief and gratitude, realizing that her son's understanding and acceptance were more important than anything else. "Thank you, Henry. I just wanted the best for you, no matter what."

A few weeks had passed since Lucy had revealed the truth about Henry's biological father, Niklaus Mikaelson. Unfortunately, Lucy's health had been deteriorating rapidly, and one day, her heart gave out, leaving Henry devastated.

As Henry grieved the loss of his mother, he discovered a letter she had left behind, addressed to him. With trembling hands, he opened it and began to read:

Dear Henry,

By the time you read this, I will be gone, and my only wish is that you find peace and happiness in your life. I know the revelation about your biological father was a lot, but I hope you understand why I shared that truth.

I am leaving you with one final request, which is important for you to consider. I know that your father, Niklaus Mikaelson, is a complex and dangerous man, and I've kept you safe from that world for as long as I could. But everyone deserves a chance to understand their roots and make their own choices.

I'm not asking you to love him or even forgive him or seek his approval. I'm asking that you meet him once, make yourself known, and let him know who you are. After that, the choice is entirely yours. Whether you choose to have a relationship with him or not, it's your decision.

Remember, Henry, you are your person and have the power to shape your destiny. I have always believed in you, and I know you will make the right choices.

I love you more than words can express, and I will always be with you in spirit.

With all my love,

Mom

Tears welled up in Henry's eyes as he read his mother's heartfelt words. It was a bittersweet message, but he knew that he would honor her final request and consider meeting his biological father,

With his mom's heartfelt letter as his guide, Henry packed up some essentials in his duffel bag, grabbed his trusty debit card loaded with the money she left him, and tossed in a few of her grimoires for good measure. He hopped on a bus bound for New Orleans, where his biological father, Niklaus Mikaelson, supposedly hung his hat. As the bus rumbled down the highway,
