30 Darkness

I arrived at where the council meeting was being held shortly after I arrived in Mongolia, the first sight I saw when I walked through the building my father set up was the plentiful amount of beautiful women walking around, my father really has a hunger for the fairer sex. Can't say that I didn't inherit the same the only difference is I don't keep them around with me.

I remember when I was younger and he asked me 'why don't you have a harem?' like I was an idiot or something. It's too much work honestly, and it's not like I can't get any.

Anyways, I spotted my father talking to Han and Elaine, Ezra was in the back corner screaming into his phone.

"Father," I said with a small smile

He turned to look at me, a large smile spread across his face as he brought me into a hug.

"Son! I haven't seen you in years!"

"Yeah, stop trying to kill me with your hug," I said laughing a little as I push him off

"Tch, I tried that remember?" he retorted rolling his eyes

"Yeah, I do. I remember you failing miserably," I laughed loudly at his scowling expression

"Stop you two! Your annual battle to the 'death' match is still years away," Elaine pouted at our different type of humor

"Okay, Elaine we will stop, bring it in," I replied with a radiant smile

She zipped into my arms, "Ban I'm sorry to hear about Inari," her face was now twisted into a frown

"Haa, it will all work out I'm sure," I replied combining back her hair

She let go of me and began to float around, "yeah I'm sure Han will be able to figure it out!" she declared pumping a first in the air

Chuckling I replied, "haha, I know he will,"

Turning to Han we gave each other a quick hug, "it's good to see you, Han," I said with a faint smile

"You to Ban," he replied simply

"Inari's body is in my room," I told him, Sora had taken her up there when I saw him here

"I will check it out, don't worry we all want her back," Han said with a sad smile

"What's up with Ezra?" I asked the group

Elaine looked over and scoffed, "what's wrong with him? There is always something wrong with him,"

Ezra glared at her then hung up the phone, "nothing is wrong per se, it's just some groups are causing trouble again, wolf anger is at an all-time high with the full moon coming around,"

I nodded at him in understanding, the wolf packs he manages can get pretty unruly, lucky for him he manages to always calm them before they do something stupid.

"Alright, let's get on with the meeting," Father said motioning for us to join him in the meeting room

We all walked in and sat around a round table, I poured myself a cup of sake from my dad's collection and waited for the meeting to commence.

Han left the room to check on Inari so we started with some pretty mundane subjects.

"Hey, have you found a girl to actually keep around yet?" Father asked once we finished with the boring logistic subjects

"Not yet," I replied shortly

"You need to find someone Ban," Elaine replied shooting me a wink

I and Elaine did try for some time but, she doesn't clash well with me.

"He had that girl in the 15th century," Ezra decided to inject himself

"Can we stop?" I groaned in annoyance

*creakk* the door opened and Han entered

"I checked Inari, her soul is inside the blade, and since you put a stasis spell on her she is fine for now, I just have to work out how to get her soul from the blade back into her body," Han said not wasting anytime

"Shouldn't that be easy? I mean we have prison worlds and isn't that the same thing?" I asked

Han sat down and sighed, rubbing his temple he replied, "no, she used her unique brand of Kitsune magic, I am going to have to reverse engineer everything she did, and somehow learn how to interact with Kitsune magic,"

"I see," I replied calmly to not portray any emotional reaction I might have had

"Look on the bright side, Han says it's possible," Ezra said with a small hopeful smile

"That's true," I said nodding my head in understanding

We then began to talk about various other topics, mostly about our plans for the next couple of years. I want to mainly focus on my empire for now.

"What about the U.S president?" Father asked in a gruff tone

"He is not a problem, don't worry about having another JFK," I replied calmly while taking a sip of sake

"Don't worry? This one is ambitious I can tell," Father said

"He hasn't been a problem since he came into the office, and we have updated our safety measures," I replied, Sora nodded behind me

"Fine," Father huffed

My dad isn't a fan of the U.S as a whole, he believes Mongolia should be the supreme power.

"One last thing, I want each of us to take a soul brand, this whole Inari thing could be fixed easily if she had one, and it can make instantaneous communication, even in a prison dimension," Han proposed

"No, I will not brand my soul," I replied

Everyone else nodded, "my friends, it is a safe method it will only be for communication, I will even leave in a component that lets you get rid of it with a single phrase,"

Elaine shook her head, "no, my magic could get messed up with this soul brand,"

"Think of another way," Father said gruffly

"Yeah Han I don't like the idea of my soul getting messed with," Ezra added

I just nodded calmly.

"I expected this, that is why I made these necklaces, they will work the same. Instantaneous communication across dimensions even in a prison world we can communicate," Han offered

"Why didn't you mention this first," I said sharply

"Because the soul brand would be more effective," Han replied while handing out the necklaces

I grabbed my necklace and swung it over my neck, everyone did the same.

"Off to the fountain?" I asked the group

"Yep,"

"Yeah, it's about time,"

"Let's finish this quickly,"

"Let's do this!!"

We all quickly left the meeting room and began to leave, Han warded my room so no one can enter and harm Inari.

It didn't take us too long to reach the fairy forest, Han and Elaine are both very skilled in teleportation magic, they have some waypoints set up in various useful areas, hidden away from all eyes.

We decided to walk to the fountain, we didn't know how teleportation magic could affect the new condition that it is in.

We quickly made it to the fountain as they now have a nice stair system for easy access. I looked at the colorful swirl that was now the fountain.

"What do you think it is?" I asked softly taking in the beautiful sight

"I'm not sure, I think it is a gateway of some kind," Han explained

I nodded, it looks like a stereotypical gateway/ portal.

"What's the plan?" I asked unsure of how to manage this

"Elaine and I are going to try to figure out what it is, if any creatures come out of it defend us," Han said, it makes sense seeing as they aren't close combat orientated

They began to chant words in various languages, suddenly the fountain began to slosh around.

They instantly stopped, "what is happening?" Ezra asked hurriedly

"It wasn't us, we were just getting ready!" Han yelled as the gateway began to stir faster

The colors began to change into a deep crimson red, and faint white streaks flashed around the fountain.

The red reminded me of something, it looked identical to when I first entered the fountain.

My eyes widen, "IT'S REACTING TO ME!" I yelled jumping back

We all began to retreat, suddenly I began to feel a strong pull, my whole body lifted from the ground.

My hand shot out and dug into the ground, I was holding on, desperately trying not to get pulled in.

"SON!" my father yelled trying to run toward me

The bright light only grew in presence blocking anyone from reaching me, it gave off a feeling that I have never experienced, it felt divine.

The vortex was only increasing in suction, it was getting harder and harder to hold on to.

My arms began to make popping noises,

*POP!*

*POP!*

*CRACKKK*

*SHCCKK* both of my arms were torn from my body

I was in a free fall, I could hear them screaming for me, I couldn't do anything.

I have so much left to do!
