1 Turtle Iona (1)

When Iona woke up, he found that the world had turned upside down.

He wasn't in his comfy bed anymore, the laptop in front of him wasn't there anymore, the milk tea he hadn't had time to drink was gone! What's more he wasn't in his room anymore!!

Iona was dumbfounded, but unexpectedly, the timid Iona did not panic.

This was the first time Iona felt proud of himself, he did not panic despite seeing himself in this kind of situation.

Perhaps because he believed in his heart that he was dreaming, Iona even had time to observe and explore his surroundings.

Using these two words⎯⎯⎯ observe and explore⎯⎯⎯ Iona felt that he did not give these words justice and felt ashamed, because there really wasn't anything worth looking around as he was currently being surrounded by darkness.

No wonder Iona thought that he was dreaming.

He thought, maybe he was in a dreamless dream and he just became aware of it.

Moreover, Iona felt unexpectedly relaxed and secure in this darkness, and felt particularly warm as well. It was as if he was being surrounded by warm water, lulling him to sleep.

Right, sleep. Iona felt sleepy.

Although he felt weirded out by this sleepiness inside a dream, Iona obeyed his instinct, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

It was unknown how long Iona was asleep, but when Iona woke up again, he felt energized and alive as if he drank several bottles of energy drink.

He felt as if he could run a mile in one swoop, while jumping and dancing at the same time. Iona felt as if he was reborn.

Since becoming an otaku, who didn't usually exercise and go outside, Iona hasn't felt this light before. He felt rejuvenated and felt as if every muscle in his body were refreshed.

Just as Iona wanted to do what his body was urging him to, he finally realized something was wrong.

Iona felt very awake right now, sober than ever. He doesn't even need to drink coffee to be awake, however, he was still in the same darkness, he can't even see his hands.

Iona finally began to panic.

Iona wanted to move, but for some reason he couldn't, this made him even more anxious.

Countless horror movies, and infinite flow novels came to his mind, and the world "sleep paralysis" was especially bright.

Actually, he doesn't know how sleep paralysis works, but⎯⎯⎯ he can't move his body, he was very awake, but he can't wake up for some reason⎯⎯⎯ weren't these symptoms of sleep paralysis!

Iona was frightened of his thoughts, but this feeling was very weird, Iona couldn't really find words to describe it.

He could still remember that warm feeling, enveloping him to sleep, it was lingering in his skin, it felt very good and made him want to continue sleeping. But for some reason, it was slowly dissipating, like a lake slowly drying up, making Iona feel cold.

Iona didn't know what was happening, but he knew that he had to calm down to think clearly.

He took a deep breath, then let out a puff of air⎯⎯⎯ he inhaled and exhaled slowly till his heart beat slowed down, only to realize something again.

This realization made his heart beat fast and loud again.

This was too real.

He could feel his beating heart through his skin, he could feel the air⎯⎯⎯ no, he didn't feel the air coming! He doesn't breathe like he normally would!

Actually, Iona wasn't breathing!!

Iona felt like he discovered something he shouldn't have, and wondered if he was still in a dream.

He tried to close his eyes, and imagine himself walking up in his cozy bed to no avail.

He can't pinch himself since he can't move, so he really didn't know anything more that could prove that he was really in a dream.

Therefore, after a long time of pondering and meditation, Iona finally had to accept that this wasn't a dream.

So if this wasn't a dream, then what the hell's happening?!

Such a hard question…after Iona accepted the fact that this wasn't a dream, Iona miraculously calmed down.

Although he was still nervous as hell, he wasn't anxious anymore, he can think clearly now.

So he began to trace back his memory, questioning himself⎯⎯⎯ Where am I? And how did I come here?

He was just in his room as usual, dozing off in the afternoon. With a movie playing in the background, Iona faced his laptop while laying on the bed trying his best to open his eyes to edit the video he has to upload for next week.

He didn't do anything outrageous. He didn't look at his emails, he also did not receive weird texts, nor was he reading any novels before he inexplicably fell asleep in the middle of editing. And the movie playing in the background was some Marvel movie.

Thinking about it, maybe he was in some kind of glass container, and the warm water enveloping him earlier was some kind of nutrient solution, and he was being experimented on right now!

Did he transmigrate into Marvel?!

Right, after realizing that this wasn't a dream, as an otaku with thousands of years of cultivation in different genres of different cultures, being in a familiar dark place mentioned in every transmigration and reincarnation novels, this was the first thing Iona thought of.

⎯⎯⎯Transmigration.

But, no, no, no, maybe not Marvel. Iona recalled, he was watching Loki! When did Loki have this sci-fi thingy!

Then the second thing that came to his mind⎯⎯⎯ Ah! I'm kidnapped?!!

Maybe the thing that made him sleep was sleeping gas, then he was drugged and kidnapped by someone!

However, the subsequent thoughts that came to his mind next just made Iona feel like blushing.

It wasn't that he was narcissistic.

Iona never left his house after he graduated college, and he directly went full-time blogger on the internet for money after being a rice bug for a year.

Although he knew no one on the other side of the screen would like him ⎯⎯⎯ as in like love, love⎯⎯⎯ after all, Iona uploaded videos of him creating dioramas, DIY book nooks, terrariums and gardening videos with only his voice, shadow, and hands seen in the camera. But it wasn't impossible for him to have a secret admirer, right?

Perhaps, this one is a yandere type, they can't take it anymore, and just kidnapped him?

Iona knew his tastes were strong. He's an otaku deep in his bones, and as a rice bug, who didn't really want to go out, being kidnapped by a yandere while eating soft rice in a black room was a dream come true!

But no matter how he thought about it, Iona felt like it was impossible.

In fact, if Iona had a choice, he would prefer being kidnapped by a yandere rather than being isekai-ed in an unknown world!

Therefore, Iona concluded⎯⎯⎯ perhaps he was still dreaming after all.

No matter how Iona thought about it, he really can't believe that he drew the jackpot.

He's just an ordinary man after all. Although having an ordinary average and super normal protagonists was popular nowadays, and Iona also dreamed of experiencing isekai moments, it doesn't mean that he wanted it to come true.

Dream is a dream, and reality is a reality.

And it was just him unable to graduate his second-grade syndrome yet despite being this old.

Iona was timid with little courage; he can bet one dollar that he can never do something like those protagonists in those novels did.

On the contrary, Iona felt like, if he really did transmigrate or went isekai or something, perhaps he's the passenger-kind of character, who only has a single line in the book.

Without any kind of halo, Iona fears that if he really hit the bullseye, he would die in just a few strokes.

Iona really wanted to deny the possibility of being transmigrated or isekai-ed, but no matter how Iona looked at his situation, he really can't find any decent explanation to what's happening to him right now.

He has no social experience, and his world view was very limited. Without anyone to help him with all his question, after a long time, Iona quit thinking and chose to just forget about it.

Thinking about these things would get him nowhere, so Iona chose to wait.

Perhaps, having been alone for a long time, he had acquired new skills⎯⎯⎯ delusion and hallucination.

Iona has many "maybes", "what ifs", "perhaps" circling in his mind, but the moment he chooses to not think about anything, everything just disappears like a cloud of smoke.

This was his speciality. Iona has been a master of daydreaming since he was a child. He can spend the day looking at the air without thinking about anything, just meditating like a buddhist priest.

This skill evolved when Iona grew up, he can think of a whole story vividly in his mind like watching a movie in his daydream, and reading a novel was an added buff.

That's why he likes reading. He doesn't need to go out when all these words could bring the world to him, and they're not just bringing him the world, they're also introducing him to knew incredible worlds Iona can't go to.

Anyway, his fragile body and glass heart would not let him go out so much as well.

Iona thought, there really wasn't anything in his life, but he was satisfied.

Therefore, Iona decided he would give his subscribers some benefits after he woke up!

So just let him wake up, okay! This kind of protagonist's route, it really wasn't for him TT.
