7 Workout

Nagazora City has always been a well known city due to its scientific endeavors led by the Massive Electric Corp. 

Not only does it help the common people with its inventions, it also prevents disasters that the general public doesn't know about.

Honkai.

The Honkai is an extraterrestrial phenomena unexplained by current science. No one knows where it came from and why it is attacking Earth.

This disaster is also behind many events that have left the human race in massive destruction. 

From the Prehistoric era of dinosaurs to the meteor shower that happened 13 years ago, Honkai can come out in different forms that would deal a fatal blow to the human race.

But just like there's a threat to the human race, there are also organizations preventing the same threat.

"I really should've played Honkai Impact 3rd back then." Daniel breathed while running.

It's early in the morning and the sun hasn't come out yet. After coming to a decision, he decided to wake up early and started training.

What kind of training do you ask?

Running.

Some people may laugh at him but for him personally, the ability to escape in any situation is more worth it than just beating your opponent.

Of course, that doesn't mean that he'll train just that. This is just the beginning. With his body, no way he'll not abuse its capabilities.

Running for almost an hour, he sat in one of the benches and took a deep breath.

"It's almost 6." Looking at his watch. He stood up again, ready for another round of running.

Despite running nonstop, he barely felt the fatigue. 

"Off we go." Not wasting any more time, Daniel continued his own marathon.

"Kid, where have you been?" Kazuya asked in surprise. After entering the station, he noticed that the kid wasn't present.

Did he wake up? That's earlier than usual.

"Sorry Kazuya-san." Daniel smiled sheepishly. After doing his workout routine, he immediately ran back to the police station to work.

He still needs money.

"I started working out. That's why I woke up early." He explained.

"Did you really work out? You look like you aren't tired at all." Kazuya praised him. Do kids these days have that much energy in their body?

It's good to be young.

"Yes." Daniel replied.

"Well it's a good thing that you've changed clothes. I have something to tell you." Seeing his new set of clothes, a white long sleeve and white pants, Kazuya couldn't help but compliment.

"Thanks? So what were you about to say?" Daniel wasn't sure how to respond to that.

"You're fired, kid." Kazuya said flatly.

"WHAT?!" Daniel couldn't help but exclaim loudly. Fired? Did he do something wrong?

"Wait, please we can talk about this!" Daniel tried to come up with something.

"Okay kid, you can relax there." Kazuya calmed him down, "I'm firing you here because you'll be assigned elsewhere." He added.

Hearing that, Daniel sighed in relief before glaring at the culprit who just smirked at him.

"You should've told that first." 

"Hey, I'm not the one who jumps to conclusions." Kazuya laughed.

Daniel sighed helplessly hearing that, "Where is my new job? Is it in another city?" He asked hopefully.

"Still in the city kid. Let's just say, I told your situation to someone else and saw the work you finished everyday. They were impressed."

"Your salary will be bigger too compared to here " Kazuya added.

"Where is it then?" Although a little regretful that it wasn't in another city. After hearing that the salary is big, he cheered up once again.

"Chiba Academy. They wanted to hire you as a janitor." 

"Chiba Academy?" Daniel tilted his head.

"An all girl school. You'll be stationed as a janitor there." 

".... Are you sure?" Daniel felt weird hearing that. A male in an all girl school? Although as a janitor, are they seriously going to do that?!

"Hahaha, don't make that face kid. I was weirded out too but the head of the school assured me." Kazuya shrugged.

"Besides, they may be all girl schools but those who are studying it belong to prestigious backgrounds. '' Kazuya explained, "I know you're not stupid kid but in case you let your primal urges control you, just remember that you'll likely get assassinated for seducing the precious jewels of those families." He added with a smirk.

"Am I really that kind of person in your eyes?" Daniel asked with doubt.

"I did say in case and to be honest kid, you may avoid them but with your good looks and foreign background, they'll likely flock to you instead." Kazuya patted his shoulder. 

"Thanks," Daniel rolled his eyes.

"Just a reminder though. Those kids are spoiled as hell. Perks of being born from a prestigious family."

"What about it?" Daniel asked curiously.

"They might give you trouble. I think that's why the head of the school picked you. Aside from your work performance, your age is also suitable enough to interact with them."

"... I don't know what to think about that." Daniel's lip twitch.

"Same kid, same." 

"Well kid, this is it between us. You can visit the station anytime." Kazuya said with a genuine smile on his face.

Although it's only been more than a week, he truly enjoyed Daniel's company. His perseverance and calmness have always impressed him.

"Right now?" Daniel asked, surprised.

"Sooner the better kid."

After hearing that, Daniel nodded and intended to finish his work before leaving.

Hours passed, Daniel and Kazuya are now standing in front of each other with the former holding his luggage.

"Thank you Kazuya-san." Daniel bowed, "For taking care of me these past few days and giving me a job." 

"Hahaha, don't sweat it kid." He laughed, "Although I have a daughter. With you here, It feels like having a son." He smiled warmly.

"Son huh..?" Daniel looked down on the ground. 

Raising his head, he smiled genuinely and said, "Then don't push yourself old man." 

"Kid, I should be the one telling you that." 

Both of them shared a laugh before Kazuya held a hand.

Seeing this, Daniel responded in kind before looking him in the eye.

"Thank you Kazuya-san, for everything."

"You're welcome kid. Hope you visit the station when you have free time." 

With that said, both of them gave their farewells to each other.

"Kid has a bright future ahead of him." Kazuya said while walking.

After Daniel left, he closed the station and made his way to pick up his daughter.

Since Daniel isn't there anymore, no one would be guarding the station.

"But it's indeed a mystery. He doesn't look like a criminal nor did I feel malicious intentions." As a police officer, he may have helped Daniel but that doesn't mean he doesn't have ulterior motives.

At first, he really thought he's just a tourist with his girlfriend but after finding out his situation, he was surprised.

No identity? If he didn't see it in person, he would've thought it's fake. You can only see those kinds of events in movies.

There's also his story of waking up in the city. As a city focused on scientific development, their technology is one of the best in the entire Asia and even the whole world.

Because the ME corp is located here, a lot of measures are taken in order to uphold safety for the citizens who live in Nagazora.

As a police officer, he has access to those in case of emergency and to his surprise, nothing.

No record of Daniel entering the city at all.

With Nagazora's technology, entering the city without getting recorded or even noticed is almost impossible. 

In these circumstances, he came to a conclusion. Daniel is either telling the truth or he is someone with a big background.

He even thought of Daniel as a criminal who's on a run and that's why he has no identity but after interacting with the kid for a week, he's sure that's not the case.

So this could only mean that what he's telling is the truth? 

"It really sounds impossible but the world is big, I shouldn't get cocky about knowing things." Kazuya said with a shake of his head. 

Anyway, since Daniel is a good person, there's no need to think too much. 

"Dad!" Stopping on his tracks, he turned around and saw a little girl with pink hair running towards him.

"Sora!" Squatting down, he greeted the little girl's hug with his own before raising her up.

  "Dad, you're early." Sora asked.

"Hahaha, something happened so your dad finished his job early." Kazuya smiled, "Are you hungry?"

"Yes dad! Very hungry." Sora complained.

Kazuya laughed before turning around and started chatting with his daughter.

Whoever sees this will be really envious. Kazuya, after all, is a great father.
