8 New Job

Walking in the streets of Nagazora while carrying his luggage, Daniel made his way to Chiba Academy.

As someone who was running every morning in this city, he had a rough idea about directions and memorized some of them.

Not surprised, the school is not far away from the station.

"Chiba Academy." Looking at the massive gate, Daniel couldn't help but be amazed.

As expected of rich people, their yard alone can fit five police stations easily.

Coming close to one of the guards, he handed the letter that Kazuya gave him earlier.

His letter of recommendation.

Seeing this, the guard was confused but still took it.

Opening it, he looked at the letter and Daniel once again before asking with a strange expression.

"... You're the new janitor?" He wasn't joking. Looking at the kid in front of him, he must be at least 18 or 19.

If it wasn't for the fact that this is an all girl school. He would've thought that he's a student here.

His good looks don't help either. A foreign face, black hair, black eyes and a very muscular physique. If you ignore his casual clothes, you would've mistaken him for a rich man.

"Yes, is there something wrong?" Daniel asked. The guard is probably surprised by his age.

"Nothing kid. Come on, I'll take you to the office." The guard shook his head and returned the letter.

It's not his business to pry.

Opening the smaller gate, the guard led Daniel inside the campus.

"Welcome to the Chiba Academy kid." As they were walking into the corridors, the guard started touring him while on their way to the office.

"It's massive." Daniel looked around and complimented.

"Well of course. This school is established by many prestigious families throughout the country. For the sake of their kids, they wouldn't mind spending money." The guard said with pride.

"That's true." Daniel nodded.

As they were making their way, he saw students wandering on campus looking at them.

'As expected of a prestigious school. The students look spoiled as hell.' Noticing the expensive garments in their bodies, Daniel couldn't help but sigh.

"Who's the one beside the guard?"

"Is he here for something?" 

"He looks handsome…" 

Daniel heard them but didn't pay attention. He's only here for one thing and that is money.

"Jeez kid, at least show some reaction." Noticing the still blank expression on Daniel's face, the security guard tried to lighten the mood.

"I don't really know what to say…" He's not lying, this is his first time encountering such a thing.

"I don't even know whether I should feel relieved that you're not having any thoughts about the students or pity because you don't have any thoughts on the students." Seeing the difficult expression on his face, the guard didn't know what to say.

He's straight, right? As someone who worked here for years, guys who entered the school would at least glance at some girls, even if it's just out of reflex.

Daniel's eyes twitch hearing that, he'll probably do it if they are normal girls but now? He didn't even think about it.

Who knows what is going on with those girl's heads. He didn't want to be reported on sexual harassment on his first day here.

Going through the stairs, the guard asked some common questions related to his background which Daniel answered coolly.

"This is the office, the school head is waiting for you." Standing in front of a door, the guard patted his shoulder before leaving.

"Here goes nothing." Staring at the door for a few moments, Daniel took a deep breath before opening it.

"Oh! You're here!" Daniel saw a middle aged man typing on a computer. After seeing him, he immediately stood up and approached him.

"Nice to meet you, I'm the head of China Academy." The school head stretched his hand.

Seeing this, Daniel responded in kind and introduced himself, "Thank you for having me here sir. I'm Daniel."

After Daniel entered the room, he handed the letter and received an interview from the school head.

It started from the most common ones like name and age and then to a more work oriented, like experience.

It's a good thing he has Kazuya's recommendation. He didn't have time to create a resume.

"So that's it Daniel huh? Here's the key for your dorm. Your work will start tomorrow." The school head said as he handed him his keys and ID.

"I can start now sir." Taking it, Daniel insisted.

"Kazuya wasn't kidding when he said that huh?"

"What did he say sir?" 

"You're a hard worker." 

"Hahaha," Daniel scratched his head. There was nothing better to do currently.

And the salary really got him.

It was five times what he received from the station. Excluding bonus.

"Sure kid. Though I suggest you familiarize yourself with the campus." The school head agreed. He heard from Kazuya that Daniel has a good head on his shoulders. 

Considering he learned their language in just a week of staying, memorizing the entire layout of the campus shouldn't be a problem.

"Thank you sir. I'll be going now." Giving one last bow, Daniel carried his luggage and made his way to the door.

"No problem kid. Good luck with your job." The school head smiled at him.

Nodding, Daniel left the office, leaving the school head back to his work.

"This is larger than expected." Daniel nodded in appreciation. After leaving the office, he made his way to the dorm he's assigned in.

Although he somewhat expected that it'll be big, he didn't think that it'll be this big.

"Finally! An actual bed." Seeing the bed, Daniel immediately threw himself and sniffed the covers.

'Nice.' He sighed inwardly. 

He could just lay here today. But money is money.

Standing up, he fixed his things before exiting his form.

"This place is really big." Daniel looked around. He was memorizing the entire campus which proved more work than he expected.

"Wonder wha—?!" As Daniel was muttering his own thoughts. He saw a familiar figure hiding in the bushes as it was waiting for something.

"Kiana..?" What's she doing here?

Sneaking up behind her, he decided to play a little prank on her.

"Come on, where's Mei-senpai." Kiana muttered impatiently.

Hearing this, Daniel stifled a laugh before getting closer to her ear.

"Behind you." Feeling a warm breath in her ear, Kiana immediately tensed up and punched the person behind her.

"Woah! I'm just messing with you." Daniel said as he blocked her punch.

"Wait, Daniel? What are you doing here?! This is an all girl school!" Kiana put down her fist in surprise.

"I work here now." Daniel smirked, "Though I didn't expect that you'll be here. You must be a very rich girl. Miss Kiana Kaslana." He said sarcastically.

"Hmph, of course I am." Kiana puffed her chest in pride. She either gnored the tone of his voice or just didn't hear him.

"..." Seeing this, Daniel was speechless.

"But you work here now huh? Is the school head aware of this." Kiana looked at him with suspicion.

"The hell are you talking about? Of course he does. How would I get inside if not?" Daniel looked at her angrily.

"Hmph, Be careful Daniel. Just because you're my friend doesn't mean I won't punish you if I caught you perving on the students here." Kiana raised her fist threateningly.

"Me? a pervert? Says the one peeping on the senior building." Daniel replied with a sneer.

Who is she kidding? 

"Why you..!" 

*RING!*

Before their argument started again, they heard the sound of the bell ringing, signifying the break time of the students.

Kiana didn't waste time on Daniel anymore and looked at the students coming out.

"Mei-senpai!" Following her gaze, Daniel saw a dark purple haired girl wearing a purple uniform.

She wears a purple ribbon, her black stocking wrapped around her slender legs and she has the temperament of a gentle big sister next door.

'I guess this is what they call Yamato Nadeshiko.' Daniel thought.

Kiana on the other hand just looked at her from a distance while fangirling.

".... Why don't you just come closer?" Daniel looked at her weirdly.

"I..uhhh.." Kiana put her two fingers together and muttered, "She doesn't know me yet…" 

"..." Daniel looked at her with 'Are you serious?' look.

"H-Hey! I'm just new to this school. I didn't have a chance to introduce myself." Kiana waved her hands trying to explain.

"Yeah, sure." Daniel said expressionlessly. With how much she talks about her, he thought that they would be at least close friends.

Guess he should've expected that.

Feeling Daniel's unimpressive gaze, Kiana tried to change the topic before she heard something that made her freeze.

"She's hot. I approved." Looking at the right curves in Mei's body. Daniel whistled and gave her a thumbs up.

"Daniel..!" She treated him as a friend yet he actually wants to NTR her? If she doesn't teach this guy a lesson, her last name won't be Kaslana.

Feeling Kiana's intention. He immediately raised his guard. Heh, he got stronger with his exercises.

Time to teach this husky a lesson.

As they were about to fight. They noticed that students are staring at them.

'Guess it must be Kiana's loud voice.' Pinning the blame to Kiana like it's the most reasonable thing to do. He immediately coughed to ease the awkward atmosphere.

Which it didn't work.

"Eh..?" Seeing that Daniel didn't continue making trouble, Kiana guessed that he backed out of fright.

"Umm… may I ask what the two of you are doing?" They both turn around to see a familiar figure.

"What?" Daniel said in surprise.

"Mei-Senpai." Kiana suppressed her excitement.

"I'm sorry if I disturbed you but I haven't seen the two of you here." Raiden Mei said with a smile, "May I ask if there's a problem?" 

Daniel and Kiana looked at each other before pointing their fingers.

"She/He started it." 

"What the hell are you talking about?!"

"Stop copying me!"

Looking at the two of them arguing, Raiden Mei was dumbfounded.

Wait, what is a man doing here?

"Excuse me, but this is an all girl school. How did you get in here?" She asked Daniel who's still glaring at Kiana.

"Huh?" Hearing her question, he immediately composed himself and gave the ID he received from the school head.

"I'm the new janitor here. I'm just familiarizing myself with the campus."

Taking it, Raiden Mei is surprised. She didn't doubt it after seeing the ID, it's just that…

Isn't he the same age as her? Probably slightly older.

Returning it, she was about to speak until one of her friends called out to her.

"Mei! Let's go!" 

"O-Oh.." Before Mei could reply, her friend came to her and looked at Daniel before exclaiming.

"You're the new janitor?" The girl asked while looking at him up and down.

"You look good. What's your number?" 

"..." Daniel is speechless hearing that. 

Speaking of numbers, he doesn't even have a phone.

"He's just a janitor, why are we even paying attention?" Another girl comes, although she said that, there's a look of jealousy plastered on her face.

Hearing her friend's comments, Raiden Mei apologized before dragging them away.

Looking at them leaving, Kiana fumed in anger before muttering, "Hmph, just leeches off on Mei-senpai." 

"And you, why didn't you say anything?" Kiana looked at him annoyed.

"And get fired? No way, besides, it's the truth. I'm just a janitor." Daniel shrugged. It's just spoiled kids, there was no need to be aggressive.

"Hmph, are you sure it's not because they aren't girls?" Kiana crossed her arms. She heard that boys tend to tolerate pretty girls.

"So you're not a girl?" The meaning was evident.

Kiana was triggered hearing that.

"By the way, where's your ID?" Daniel asked in suspicion. He noticed it just now but Kiana isn't wearing hers. "Even though I'm a janitor, I can report you."

"I- Y-You see…" Kiana was thinking of an excuse before realizing someone, "Daniel! Are you trying to blackmail me?!" 

"It's called doing my job." 

And another argument started.
