Becoming a demon

"No." Obviously, I wouldn't collect my reward now, as the transformation can be quite shocking.

"Come on, Aiko, we're done with this." Aiko nodded and we left the place quickly. As there were few people in the area, no one saw us so we managed to get back to the classroom quietly.

After the class was over, I quickly left the classroom and went to my home. When I got home, I talked to my mom for a while and went up to my room.

"Finally, my months of work are paying off" Now it was time for me to change my race. I was a little afraid of changing race, as I thought my appearance would undergo a radical change, but a while ago when I was thinking about it, the system informed me.

<Changing the race from a human to a demon does not have a big change in appearance, you will remain similar to humans but with some characteristics of demons. As you progress through the main "Demon's Path" mission, you will be able to choose your development route.>

This message made my hesitation disappear, these small changes were nothing close to the power I would receive. Perhaps, I was wrong about how much power I would have since I was using the demons of the legends of my previous world as a parameter.

"Anyway, thinking so much at times is just futile effort." After I locked my bedroom door, I accepted my reward and chose to change my race now.

After reading the system notice, I prepared myself mentally and strengthened my resolve. I must endure this process to become stronger.

When the count was over, I felt the worst pain I have felt in my entire existence. Particles of energy appeared out of nowhere and started to penetrate my skin, each particle caused as much pain as a stab, it may not seem like so much pain, but if repeated thousands and thousands of times it was torturous.

Then my skin started to crack, causing my blood to cover the surface of my entire body. In addition, several of the energy particles penetrated my head, causing my hair to fall out completely.

The pain stopped suddenly after my hair fell out, and I thought it was finally over, but my happiness quickly disappeared.

Similar to the first phase, several particles of energy appeared in the air and penetrated my body. But this time, these particles seemed to have a power at least 10 times greater than before and they all penetrated the inside of my body.

"Pain! Pain! Pain!" That was the only thing I could think of, the pain was so great that I ended up forgetting everything around me. The particles of energy first hit my bones, making them glow like an ember for an instant.

Then the particles went to my muscles and in the end penetrated my internal organs. My heart was the last to be hit by the particles, and it was the one that received the most particles.

In these last steps, the pain was so great that I could not make any comparison. The last step, which was the change in my heart, was a level beyond the other processes of the second phase in terms of pain.

The moment the particles of energy hit my heart, I immediately passed out. While I was passed out, the process of changing the race continued, my body kept changing several times until it reached the level that the system wanted.

When the second phase ended, the pain was suddenly gone and I woke up after suffering a shock in my conscience. I looked around and saw that I accidentally broke some things in my room, this time I didn't think it was over and just waited for the system to announce the end.

With that last warning from the system, again several particles of energy appeared in the air and entered my body. But these particles were different from the previous ones, they didn't seem to carry any destructive energy, on the other hand, they carried gentle energy that started to heal my wounds.

It was really pleasant as if I were in a hot spring. The energy continued to heal my body for 5 minutes until I was fine again.

I was relieved when I realized that the process was over. I never imagined that I would go through such intense pain, but seeing the new things I unlocked from the system, I'm sure it was worth it.

I got up from the floor I was on and realized something.

"What? How come the floor didn't get bloody?" I bled a lot and there was not a drop of blood on the floor.

"That's great." that's what I thought, I can't imagine how I would get rid of the bloody odor that would be in my room.

After mentally thanking the system, I touched my head and realized that my hair had grown back. I was quite happy with that, as it might be a little strange to have to explain to my mother how I had become bald.

So, I went to the bathroom to see my new appearance. Arriving in front of the mirror, I was left without a reaction. Yes, I was without reaction.

"White hair, red eyes, and ... IS THIS A HORN ??" My hair was now white, the pupils of my eyes were red, and a horn protruded from the left side of my head. These were not the only changes, I took off my clothes and what I saw surprised me. My body, which was a little muscled from the last few months of exercise, was now even more defined.

In addition, I seemed to have grown a few inches more making me taller than all my classmates, I was now at least 1.64 tall.

The horn. Yes, the change that surprised me the most was the horn, looking at it, I could only imagine myself in the distant future, with horns as big as goat horns. Of course, mine is a little different, as the angle will continue to grow upwards with a slight backward inclination.

I spent a few minutes watching my body change until I was satisfied and went to sleep. A few moments after I laid my head on the pillow, I fell asleep.
