13 Virtual Testing

Li Tian now took the opportunity to perceive for the elements in the virtual space. Just as the system had explained, the elements were present in the virtual space too. 'So fascinating…'

Li Tian then picked up a sharp rock that sat in the corner of the front yard. Bravely, he struck down on his arm. There was no pain from the strike, even though the wound was currently bleeding. 'Is there like a pain tolerance level I can adjust?'

[Yes, indeed. You have the option to specify the percentage of pain tolerance you desire within the virtual space. Presently, it is configured at 100%.]

'Alright, just leave it at 100%.'

Li Tian was not here to be a masochist. He was here to attempt to fuse six elements together. Going off the hexagon idea, Li Tian decided he was going to try randomly fixing the six elements into the hexagon shape. Using arithmetic, he noted that there were over 720 (6*5*4*3*2*1 = 720) possible combinations in this formation. He had two weeks to figure it out, which gave him plenty of time if this tactic were to fail.

'For the first test, I shall put Darkness next to Light, Light next to Water, Water next to Fire, Fire next to Air, Air next to Earth, and lastly, Earth next to Darkness.' Willing the elements next to each other, Li Tian started to rotate the six elements at blinding speeds. Just like how the fusion of the four elements took several seconds, the six elements started to show some signs of fusion. However, what happened next stumped Li Tian.

"Boom!!!" An even more deafening sound exploded in Li Tian's ear drums, as a blinding light shone over the baby's entire body. If Li Tian had his pain tolerance lower even slightly, the boy would've felt the highest possible amount of heat overwhelming his body. The daring cultivator had been singed to death. Not a single bit of the virtual space was spared. After about five minutes, Li Tian and his virtual space soon recovered back to its original state.

The baby stood in place, stumped. A chill ran across his real body, realizing that if he had originally failed his four-elemental fusion, the explosion would've happened in the real world. Who's to say this explosion may not only wipe out his entire family compound, but potentially, the city, Ningguo where the Li Clan was located. Now, Li Tian was very thankful for the system's timely save.

Li Tian settled down his emotions and decided to steel his resolve once again. He realized he would require around 10 real days' time to even test out the 720 combinations (5 minutes per combination, which equates to 72 combinations per day). There was no time to deliberate as this would only leave if four days of leeway if it failed.

Inside the baby's mind soon rang countless explosions. The outside world was clueless of Li Tian's radical efforts to fuse the six elements.

In a blink of an eye, the 10th day of trial and error soon came to an end. Sadly, the 720th combination was still wrong and as a result, Li Tian was back to square one. On the 11th day, making use of his newly renewed virtual space, Li Tian requested for Li Xian to bring him and his siblings to the library, he decided to scan the library space from the children's room and proceeded to take a look at the books outside for potential clues.

The library shelves were labelled largely based on the different genres. Finding the cultivation section, Li Tian found scrolls and books placed neatly on the shelves. He swiftly picked up each scroll one by one and just did a quick scan in his mind. Due to Li Tian's photographic memory, simply recalling what he saw was enough. After two hours, Li Tian had finished scanning through one of the shelves that had to do with cultivation. If it were not for the fact that Li Tian was especially tiny and required him to use a ladder to reach the top shelves, he could've finished earlier.

Li Tian exited the virtual space and started to review the knowledge in his head. He first categorized the scrolls into whether the cultivation book had anything to do fusion of elements. Inside his plethora of books and scrolls, out of 150 items, only 30 items had two to at most three elemental fusions. None of it had four or even six elemental fusions. Li Tian already expected this and was just trying his luck.

The next step was to then read these thirty books or scrolls. This process took the bulk of his day. Li Tian's main body was basically on auto-pilot mode, while 95% of his consciousness was focused on finding a solution. By two or three in the morning, Li Tian had finally finished reviewing the books and scrolls he had memorized. Although Li Tian had not gotten a concrete method as to how to fuse the six elements, he had managed to ascertain what was crucial in such a complicated fusion process. The more complicated a fusion was, the more important stability was in the processes. Many cultivation styles emphasized on this point and many of their methods built on a strong foundation.

Li Tian had reread the hidden mission details and it seemed that he had missed a crucial hint that the system provided. It is important to consider the structure of the fusion formation.

'Although the Chaos Emperor had approached his cultivation using a square, which was a two-dimensional structure, couldn't I try out a three-dimensional structure instead?'

It was like a lightbulb had lighted up in his head. Li Tian started to analyse what could potentially be the most stable structure. 'What if the most stable structure for the Water, Fire, Earth and Wind was still the square? Then, the Light and Darkness elements can just be position above and below the square formation, forming two pyramids stacked on each other?'

Li Tian tickled the idea only for a short moment, before deciding to test out this hypothesis in the 'Virtual Testing' space. After fixing the elements in their positions, Li Tian was about to start rotating the elements. He realised that the Light and Darkness element will not be brought closer together to the four basic elements if they all rotated in the same direction. As such, Li Tian decided, in this round, he shall rotate the Light and Darkness in the Y plane, while the other four elements rotate in the X plane.

With his plan, Li Tian started to spin the elements in record speed. Unlike the last time where there were signs of explosion, the elements were harmoniously coordinating once again. There was no more conflict and as the elements got closer to the centre of the two-pyramid-shaped structure, a stronger force started to form in front of him. Whoosh.

A calm shudder occurred in the virtual space and a newly formed energy orb appeared in front of Li Tian. Unlike the Chaos energy that had a black nucleus, the new energy orb was of a bright white glowing colour, that was different from the Light element's yellowish hue. The were no wisps of energy leaking out in its surrounding nucleus, which could be signifying that it was more stable than the Chao orbs.

'This… I did it! I finally did it!' Li Tian collapsed on the virtual, sighing in relief. He was cutting it close to losing his life once again. Satisfied with his creation, Li Tian practiced a few more times. Most of it were conducted in his body, where he was able to successfully circulate the newly created Qi inside his virtual body.

On the 13th day of the hidden mission, Li Tian was finally confident enough to cultivate in his real body. Having gotten used to the process, within an hour and a half, Li Tian had successfully followed the newly revised Chaos Cultivation manual with his newly created six-elemental Qi.

Ding…

[You've completed the hidden mission 'Six Elemental Fusion'.]

"Phew…" Li Tian took in a deep breath as he fixed his resolve again. His cultivation journey had become smoother. Now, he needed to complete the remaining mission of his. The reward of this mission was something he was looking forward to. It was the first thing he would say he was looking forward to ever since he had entered this world. And that was, anime!

Coming to the one-year mark when Li Tian was born, the little baby had finally completed his 300th fusion Qi circulation.

Ding…

[You've completed the mission 'Chaos Annihilation Cultivation'.]

[Reward 'Receive Memory Clips of the Top 3 Animes of All Time in Terra' shall now be distributed.]

'Yes! Finally!' The excited baby wiggled his butt when he heard the notifications of the system.
