OFF TO THE WOODS

Hey Tim, drop that over there ", shouted Mr. Malcolm holding a clipboard,''How many tyres are still in the garage?"

"About four sir!", said a man in green overall carrying a few tyres

" Honey!", shouted Aunt Debby holding an old carton of car batteries

"No no no", replied Mr. Malcolm quickly

" These batteries aren't that bad", he said but she was indifferent towards it.

"Kids! What's taking so long?", asked Aunt Debby

" We're coming", replied Mike as he ran upstairs to meet the others.

Mr. Malcolm was a man in his late forties with a wife and a kid. The holiday season was here again and his nephews and nieces had come to stay with him like always, an event that he was always always ready and loved to entertain

"Wait. You guys ain't even ready yet?", he asked in surprise

" Well", began Nathan packing some discs into a small box, "You can just say it again if they ask"

"So my brother's your answer machine?", asked Charlotte, Mike's sister

" That depends ", said Nathan with a wicked smirk. He and Charlotte stood face to face.

" Will the both if you just stop this child's play", said Mike passing in between them.

He walked up to Angela who had been sleeping since after lunch.

"Angela Angela", he called while tapping her

" None of those work on her ", said Zack

" Nathan"

"What?", asked Nathan

" What's your sister's wake up password?", asked Mike

"Quite simple, quite simple", said Nathan scratching the back of his head

" So what's the problem? Tell me", said Mike

"Is it that bad?", asked Charlotte mischeviously

" Ugh! Just..", said Nathan and moved up to Angela and held her nose shut for a while and she woke up with a startle

"Uh huh", said Mike staring at Nathan and Angela weirdly

" Weird right?", said Charlotte holding in her laughter

"Yeah like no weird thing in your family", said Nathan

" None I can think of"

"Mr. Malcolm sir, we're done with the furniture's, shall we move on to the boxes?", asked Ben, the head of the moving company.

" Just a sec 'Kay", replied Mr. Malcolm, "Kids! Bring down all your boxes now"

"Sure thing Uncle Malcolm", said Mike.

" You heard the man", Mike told the others.

They grabbed boxes in their room and took it downstairs, placing each one in its respective position.

"Charlotte dear, do drop that one over there", said Aunt Debby pointing to a spot.

While bringing down boxes, Mr. Malcolm told the kids to hurry up so they could get to the woods on time. They quickly ran up and hastened packing.

" Yo Ben!", called Mr. Malcolm

"Sir",

" Before you guys would be done, Mr. Carl the House agent would be here so I'll need you to lock up and hand him the house keys"

"Sure thing sir"

"KIDS!!!", called Aunt Debby

" Whoa, take it easy dear"

The five of them quickly descended the stairs in unison with their rucksacks well hung on their backs. Mr. Malcolm smiled and held his wife.

"What a perfect group they are eh", he said

" Perfect, maybe.....tiresome, definitely", replied Aunt Debby

"We're all set Uncle Malcolm", said Mike

" Okay, everyone to the camper, let's get this show on the road"

They all exited through the main entrance and got into the camper but Mr. Malcolm and Aunt Debby got into the minivan and off they went speeding along the road, few minutes later diverted into the express and then to a restaurant.

"An all you can eat buffet", said Mr. Malcolm

" I want an extra large ice cream Sunday, a lasagna, fried turkey, american French fries.....", said Charlotte

"Whoa whoa whoa! I was just kidding dear", interrupted Mr. Malcolm quickly.

" Waiter!", called Aunt Debby and he came around.

"We'll a like a burger and cups of ice creams", she said

" Yes mam", replied the waiter

"Excuse me, all ?", said Zack

" Got a problem honey?", Aunt Debby asked her son.

"A problem? What? Me? No no, I've got an issue"

"Hey Zack'", called Mike, " That's your mother you're talking to"

"I know I....."

"If you know, you'll be quiet"_ said his dad, Mr. Malcolm.

They were all quiet now until the waiter brought over their meal. They ate as fast as they could and hurried back to the camper and their journey continued. They drove away from the restaurant on the express and diverted into a hot, bumpy road. Nothing could be seen around except for a few trees and squirrels.

" This journey is boooooring", cried Zack

" The patient dog.....", said Nathan

"Eats Nathan", interrupted Charlotte

Mike sighed hopelessly.

Few minutes later, the journey became more rough and bumpy and the kids began to feel sleepy.
