1 Bullied and persecuted

"Youth- an adventurous time, this brings new energy and new life to the society. A time of thrill, mistake, horror and romance, an age where they are prone to all kinds of new things which include developmental changes in the body. There are certain things which can only be experienced during our youths which makes them consider as something precious. Well at least for the majority of the masses out there!

And then there are people like me, who don't get the essence of those stupid masses. For me, youth can be considered the worst form of food which makes people spit them out as soon as the disgusting thing dips the tongue. The worst form of torture where one has to interact with other people in a confined space filled with hoodlums of every kind who have extra unusual youthful energy called the SCHOOL" walked a young man with black hair covering his eyes. He may have had a handsome face, but no-one knew since he covered his eyes with his hair and always walked with drooping shoulders.

Humans are called the only social animals capable of expressing their emotion. Thus they are the only race which can hurt other beings emotionally. Thus it would be better to not be a human than to be hurt by a human. Animals are better off than humans since they don't undergo any emotional disturbances or depressions. But if given another chance to select life, I'd rather choose to be a doll or an action figure. Toys don't get bullied, they don't feel hurt. They cheer up the kids who play with them and they never feel hurt, nor do they disgust others with their presence.

I guess this should be good enough for my assignment. Hope I don't come across any hoodlums on the way to the staffroom…. (words in italics refers to protagonists inner thoughts)

He walked towards the staffroom while reading his assignment. The staff room was in a different building connected by a ground and an open path sheltered by fibre roofs. It was densely packed after school with students chattering while waiting for their buses, students heading towards gymnasium and students heading towards different buildings. He had to careful strides while maintaining a steady pace in the crowd so that he wouldn't' miss submitting his assignment. Lots of crowds had gathered in the area with many walking across that path. He chose a careful path to traverse but a girl suddenly bent down in his path creating an obstacle which caused him to turn to avoid her.But his legs caught onto an obstacle causing him to stumble. He fumbled and bumped into a random stranger and somehow regained his balance.

"I'm sorry" said he breathing a sigh of relief and started rushing towards the staffroom "Hope the staffroom's not closed yet. Gotta hurry before it's too late" thought the boy before continuing to traverse.

"Hey! Stop right there" shouted a young girl. But he was lost in his own world.

"Stop him. Stop that pervert who's intentionally bumping into girls" cried the short-haired girl.

"Hey! Stop when's someone's talking to you. Do you think highly of yourself that you can do whatever crime you want in broad daylight?" a young man stopping him.

"I've got no time to talk to you. I've got to submit my assignment to the teacher." That's what he wanted to say. But sadly no words could come out of his mouth.

"So.. So.. I'm really sor.. sorry" he said timidly.

"Stop your acting. Everyone knows you bumped into her on purpose, you scumbag" said the young man who stopped him.

"Tell me your name and explain why you bumped into us" said the short-haired girl next to the beautiful girl

"I didn't bump into you. It was an accident. It happened cause I was checking my assignment for mistakes" was what he wanted to say but no words would come out.

"I.. I… Um… I.." continued the young man struggling to say a word.

"What?" raised the girl.

"Lily, I'm leaving. Catch up with you later" said the beautiful girl.

"Ok Reena. I'll catch up with you after I deal with this pervert" said Lily

"Re.. Rey" said the boy shyly and awkwardly.

[For all the people wondering why he's struggling to explain himself after all that grown up talk. You guessed it right! He can't talk back because he's completely afraid of crowds and socially in adept]

"Can I leave now? I have to submit my assignment." pleaded Rey shaking violently.

"What happened to your guts when you bumped into us on purpose? Are you chickening out since you were caught you in action." mocked the short-haired girl.

Rey wasn't sure what to do. He kept trembling with fear. People started gathering around that area making Rey highly uncomfortable and fearful.

"Please leave me alone. I only bumped into you by accident. I didn't have any malicious thought. Why don't you listen to me" screeched Rey but no voice could come out of his mouth.

"It… It…" continued Rey

"It what? Say it" pestered the short-haired girl

"It… It was an accident" said Rey fearful of other people gathering.

"Then why are you sweating? As I thought you were up to no good. Lily, leave the interrogation to me" said the young man who caught Rey.

"Steyn, don't let this pervert off? He is up to no good" said Lily.

Reena was the most beautiful girl in the school with good grades with best family background. Thus Lily pushed her bullying to the extreme in order to warn him not to mess with them.

Most of the people who had gathered around had no idea about what had happened. Seeing the way Lily and Steyn were escalating the matter, everyone assumed Rey was the pervert. More to that, Rey stood there defenceless unable to defend himself. More and more people started accusing Rey while Rey stood there defenceless and trembling with fear and anxiety.

"I just bumped into her by accident. Why do they have to escalate this to a crime? I didn't do anything. I'm not a bad guy" cried Rey but couldn't say it out loud.

"Were you trying to grope Reena next time? Pervert" asked Steyn

Rey was completely shaken by his remark.

"What's wrong with this guy? Why is he trying to frame me? I didn't even do anything. I just bumped them in an accident. I still have my assignment to submit. Why don't they let me go?" cried Rey

"It.. It was just an accident. I have to submit my assignment before the closing time" said Rey gathering all his courage.

"Then why don't you look at me when you answer. You're avoiding my eyes cause you know you're lying, stalker" said Steyn

"Look at him covering his eyes with his hair. He's a creep. Better stay away from him" shouted a person.

"He's totally a pervert" said another voice.

"He's a stalker. Why do we have creeps like him in our school" bombarded strangers.

"Creep! Creep! Creep!" shouted crowd.

Rey started trembling and started crying. Having low-esteem on his social skills, it was beyond what he could handle.

The bell of the school of the school had rung. It was time for the teachers to leave. Mrs. Lina kept wondering why she couldn't find Rey back.

Hearing the commotion many teachers approached the area where Rey was being humiliated.

"What's happening here?" asked Mrs. Rita a teacher in the school. She had high self-respect towards the institution and had strong disgust towards weaklings, outcasts and anybody who would bring down the school's reputation.

"This guy tried to grope Reena. We caught him teacher" said Steyn

"Is it true? I knew that this bastard had nothing good within him" said Mrs. Rita as she looked up at a weak looking boy.

"No… No, I just wanted to submit the assignment teacher. I just bumped them by accident" stuttered Rey bitterly clinging onto his last hope to clear the misunderstanding.

But Rita wasn't a least bit interested to resolve the matter by listening to the accused.

"You don't even do your homework and you dare to harass Reena. Guess we'll have to do something about this pervert. You thought you could get away since you scored well didn't you? I'll make sure perverts like you won't be able to lay hands on anybody" threatened Mrs. Rita.

Rey's last hope had turned against him turning a slight bump into a huge misunderstanding which couldn't be resolved by him ever.

"What's happening here? What's with all this commotion?" asked Ms. Lina the teacher in charge of the Rey's assignments.

She saw Rey in the corner, shaking very badly and closing his ears. Tears were flowing out of his eyes.

"Rey, what happened to you? Where is your assignment? Why didn't you bring it to me?" asked Ms. Lina. "Hello Mrs. Rita. Sorry for not noticing you. What's happening here?"

Rey slowly showed his assignment. "I.. I was trying to bring this. But they didn't allow me" whispered Rey completely shaking with fear.

"Don't lie to us. You bumped into Reena on purpose. Who knows if you would grope her next time" said Steyn

"This student was seen groping Reena. You better watch out for students like this Leena" warned Rita

"Creep! Creep! Creep!" shouted the crowd

"I didn't do anything. Why don't you believe me? "was the thought running in Rey's mind.

He looked up at Lina with the last sign of hope hoping at the least that one person would believe him. But Lina's expression towards him changed with the crowd shattering his last hope.

"No! No! Ms. Lina I was about to submit the assignment" tried Rey even though he was completely frightened and shaken. But Lina turned away from him while crowds continued to call him a creep.

"Do I really have to continue to live as a human. I hope I was never ever born" thought Rey as he fainted from despair and shock.

The next day Rey woke up to a rather normal morning.

"When did the world become so big? Am I hallucinating? Did I die? Did I lose my memories" wondered Rey

"What happened to my body?" said Rey with a rather very childish voice.

[Scream] What the hell has happened to my voice? What happened to me? How did I turn this small? What's with all this colourful fur? What happened to me? Let me recall what happened to me yesterday.
