Tricking The Vampire King

‘I became the Vampire King’s chamberlain!’ ‘He thinks I’m a man!?’ ___ The evening that Reina Gomez experienced one of the biggest betrayals in her life was the day her life came to an end. Helping her elder sister, a three times failed author, in her research for her next project had turned out to be the cause of her demise. The efforts she had put in to teach her sister everything that she knew was not repaid with gratitude. The day of the new book’s release brought sorrow to Reina who had high expectations from the project that she had lent her support in. No matter how many times she refreshed the novel’s site, the result was the same. “Where the heck is the BL tag!?” She cried out for answers but to no avail. Her sister who had learned everything there is to know about BL for the new book had done something unexpected. ‘She wrote a frickin vanilla Vampire love story instead!’ She sniffled while finding solace in the one thing that never disappointed her. Her blurry eyes fell on the cover of the novel and her scowl deepened. The petite woman with cotton-candy colored hair surrounded by three breathtakingly handsome men was not something that she was hoping for. ‘Stupid reverse harem.’ She sneered while chugging the contents of the bottle. Her eyes shut that night only to awaken in a different room the next morning. From a drunken daze to panic at what had taken place, Reina soon realized what was wrong. The images flashing across her eyes displayed a life that was not her own. ‘Memories…’ She deciphered the meaning of these images. Staring at the new face in the mirror, Reina blinked those icy blue eyes as a name formed in her mind. ‘Rein Melk… The Vampire King’s chamberlain.’ She repeated the identity of the new body she was in. Was it not enough that she was in a different world, in a different body? She now had to pretend to be the King’s loyal servant. ‘A manservant at that!’ She grimaced as her new life seemed too hard to live. Tricking the Vampire King never was an easy task but doing so while possessing jumbled memories of this body was way harder. __ As days passed, Reina began to adjust to the world, living in the body of Rein Melk. However, she began noticing something strange. ‘Why do these men seem so familiar?’ She wondered while gawking at the three handsome men she was sure to have seen somewhere in the past. The pretty lady with pink hair further brought up a sense of deja vu. ‘Wait…!’ Her eyes widened when it finally clicked. __ With a large chunk of her memories still missing, will she be able to discover everything about the body she possessed? A nameless cannon fodder in the story her sister wrote, was that her fate now? Was the identity of Rein Melk as simple as a servant concealing her true gender or was there more at play here? Numerous questions with answers yet to be obtained. This was the life of Rein Melk, the one tricking the Vampire King.

Feral Disaster - Averted!

"Wait!"

Everyone turned towards the one who had yelled and found that it was Treegan again.

"What do you think that you are doing?" He glowered at the chef who was obediently following everything this strange child commanded him to do.

King Zander was more bothered about how to deal with the knight that he did not even turn to look at the commotion coming from behind.

If he wished, he could just snap his finger and the knight would be no more but he hoped to not use his powers on his loyal men who were in this situation because of him.

Meanwhile, Treegan leered at Rein then at the chef who was still in the action of unscrewing the black jar.

"What if it is a pois-" His words halted in the next second.

The chef's action of unscrewing the jar had come to an end and the moment the cap was removed, a sweet scent they were all too familiar with filled the air.

Treegan was about to call the contents of that jar poisonous but the scent that filled his nose had proved him wrong already.

Whatever it was that the jar contained, it was appetizing enough to make all of their mouths water.

They had drank enough blood throughout their lives to know what exquisite and pure blood smelled like and right now, that was the scent wafting into their flaring nostrils.

The knight pinned down on the floor also thought the same as his eyes which were still flickering red were now aimed at the jar in the chef's hand.

King Zander too felt his stomach constrict in hunger at the scent that permeated through the air.

His attention was now on the jar that belonged to Rein before looking up at the chef.

Since Rein had already allowed them to feed his pills to the knight, they would not stand on ceremony with him.

Right now, his aim was to help his knight regain his senses, and to achieve that, Rein's blood pills were needed.

The chef understood what the King wished and handed the jar into his hands.

He had not even seen what was inside the jar but gave it into the hands of his Master upon being instructed to do so.

King Zander tilted the jar and out fell two pills which were the color of dark crimson making it seem as though blood itself had been coagulated to form these pills.

Not wasting any time in admiring the exquisite-looking pills, he headed towards the knight that had been pinned down.

Treegan wished to do this task for his Master but was commanded to stand down.

Hence, he watched from the side with vigilant eyes as the King bent forward and held the jaw of the knight.

The knight was still growling and squirming but at the sight of the pills in the King's hands, he was beginning to regain his senses.

King Zanger grabbed his jaw, pried it open, then tossed those two pills into his mouth.

Without wasting another second, the knight gobbled them up as soon as they touched his tongue and shuddered with a pleasurable look on his face.

When the taste of blood assaulted a vampire's palate, a sense of ecstasy filled their brains which sent waves of pleasure jolting throughout their bodies.

The more exquisite the blood they consumed, the higher pleasure they experienced.

This was exactly what the knight was experiencing right now.

Watching him quiet down and stay still under the hold of his fellow knights, they all stared at the jar in the King's hands.

A few seconds later, the knight finally opened his eyes and everyone sighed when his eyes had regained their original color.

Just to be safe, King Zander peered into his eyes to search for any traces of red but found none.

Signaling to his men to pick him up, King Zander patted his shoulders once he was back on his feet.

The young knight bowed to apologize for the mess he had created then shot Rein an appreciative smile for sharing his pills with him.

While his brain was beginning to shut down due to his thirst, he still had a tiny portion of sanity and had seen Rein's contribution in saving him.

Hence, he did not forget to express his gratitude just then.

He was the youngest in the group thus had been unable to hold in his thirst, almost turning feral and causing everyone around him to be troubled for his sake.

However, they were glad that he was back from the verge of death that he would have faced if he had completely turned feral and tried to attack them.

Now that they had averted the feral disaster and overcome this obstacle, another stood in their way.

While they were all happy that he was fine, they could not deny that they too had been holding in their thirst.

Rein's pills only heightened the thirst they were trying so hard to control.

They might be older and more experienced at controlling themselves but they were vampires at the end of the day.

The appetizing scent from earlier had worked all too well on them and they were now staring unblinkingly at the jar in their King's hands.

King Zander, though able to notice the desire in their eyes, chose to ignore it and return the jar to its rightful owner.

"Espren." He called out and hearing his name, General Espren let go of the young vampire he had been restraining.

Rein rubbed his sore arms before looking up at the tall man who had come to a halt before him.

King Zander looked down at the surprisingly short vampire and extended his hand to return the jar.

However, instead of accepting it, Rein shook his head in refusal.

"The others seem hungry." He muttered while glancing at the sad faces around him as they stared at the jar.

King Zander scanned their faces too and found their pitiful faces to be quite funny.

"Are you sure?" He inquired to confirm if Rein would be fine with sharing his pills with the rest of the group.

An immediate nod came in answer which made the King chuckle heartily this time.

Though blood pills were fairly cheap and could be acquired with ease, he had never seen pills of such high caliber before.

Blood pills could never provide the same amount of life essence that a glass of blood would produce.

However, just two pills were enough for their knight to regain his senses.

Coupling this with the scent they had inhaled was enough evidence needed to prove that the blood pills were not those that were common and easy to find.

Such impressive pills would be hard to make and even harder to purchase so he did not wish to burden Rein, a stranger they had met just today, in this way.

However, Rein's generous answer without a thought was both surprising and awe-inspiring to him.

"My aunt made them for me." Rein added when he saw that the man was still staring at him without distributing the pills to the others.

Hearing this, a light of understanding passed through King Zander's eyes.

It was a known fact that witches were highly acknowledged for their ability to make miraculous medicines but it was hard to seek one out for this purpose.

Their powers were often used for evil or their personal selfish motives.

Thus, when Rein said that he received these exquisite pills from his aunt, he nodded and no longer hesitated to hand out a pill to everyone in his entourage.

Generous Rein~
