This query startled her for a moment but she did not hesitate and introduced herself soon after.

"Rein Melk, General." She revealed the name everyone in this palace knew her predecessor by and even bowed, greeting him as per the Palace etiquettes.

She could not be subservient towards him as that was reserved only for the King but at the same time, she could not ignore all forms of greeting as well.

Thus the simple bow of her head would suffice for this man who held a high position in the eyes of the King and this Kingdom.

Just when she was about to raise her head, she heard him asking her to call him by a much more informal name which was meant for people you were close with.
