1 Intro

Today had to be the sunniest day in weeks. The only thing not good about that was the fact that it was Monday. Bear Lake High was packed with students who were dressed in light clothing, enjoying the warmth of the day.

Picture this: Blonde, perfectly curled hair; neat cheer uniform; French manicure; blue eyes; plump glossy lips. No, that's not me. That's Summer Marshall. Cheer captain and student president. Kind of makes her a big thing here at school.

Now picture this: brunette; messy bun; basketball shirt and jeans; backpack; basketball in hand; in the company of a few male friends. Not me either. That's Maddison Wells. She's the tomboy. You already know how that goes.

How about another image? Glasses, French braid, floral dress, lost in a book. Brown eyes, curly hair, basically by herself. Nope, still not me. Her name is Addison Green. She's our cute and quiet bookworm.

I could go on all day listing the people who are actually noticed in this school. Like the creepy goth girl named Zoey, or Ellie the transgender who joined our school last term, even Analisa, the mean bully is acknowledged. Me however, well, I'm just a regular student. Nothing to make me stand out and I like it that way. I like being invisible. It's easier that way. Nobody asks me about anything, nobody checks up on me and I'm perfectly fine with that. It just makes life easier. So as I head to class dressed jeans and a plain tee, passing all the other girls  in the hallway while my headphones blast "the Summer of 69" I breathe freely knowing that I have no expectations to live up to.
