A Betrayal (1)

Lillian checked herself in the mirror carefully. She was wearing a simple peach colored shirt with a pair of high waisted pants and a coat over it. It was nearly time for the barbeque party and she did not want to be late. Elora knocked on the door.

"The car is ready, madam," she announced.

"Where's Lucas?" Lillian asked.

"Sir is still at the office," Elora replied. "He'll be late tonight."

Lillian nodded. She picked up her purse and checked herself in the mirror one last time before heading out. Gab waited for her downstairs along with Sam.

"Ready to go, Lady Boss?" Gab asked.

"Yeah, let's go."

She got into the car while Gab sat in the front seat. Sam was in the driver's seat. He revved up the engine and sped up. A second car with a few other guards was also following them, keeping a close eye on their car. Lillian hummed to herself as they passed the main road and headed for the highway.
