Trials of an unnoticed villainess princess

Waking up in a story book is a crazy concept. Interesting and intriguing, sure. But crazy? Definitely. Until it happens to you. Waking up in your favourite reverse harem novel is every girls dream, unless you’re the villainess. And no, not a pretty and cunning one, but a plain and utterly deranged one, and that’s not even the best part. The icing on top is that you wake as a frail toddler that nobody ever notices. Not even your parents! Yet somehow you manage to form connections with the dangerous male leads without even trying... How the hell can you even survive?

Chapter 25 - Sleeping beauty

Have you ever been so fed up with someone that you just give up? No? Me neither.

I pushed the boy of my bed, or attempted to anyway with my small hands and weak arms which just resulted in me releasing an angry scream muffled by the necessary quietness needed for the night.

"I. Can't. Believe. You." I slapped the boys chest with each word.

Amid my anger I heard a rumple from his chest. A smirk on his face as he looked at me lazily and began to chuckle.

The balls on this one!! Good Grief!!

The laughter calmed soon and my mind cleared a bit, though still irked at the boy, I had bigger plans ahead.

"So? How did it go?" I leaned over him. Somehow I got the feeling he was really exhausted and slipped him one of the sweets from a tin full of sweets that the Duke of Camellia had given me. Jirael got one too surprisingly.

Ruby's face became troubled at my words, his mouth munching away at the candy piece as he turned away from me.

"I met with the king of Brennus in a rather surprising place. I thought the Brennus traditions where to avoid conflict like war, but it seems this has been made an exception".

Eh?!

"Then the Brennus King is with Father?!"

That didn't happen in the book?! Mostly because all the Brennus except Ruby had died, but still!

Ruby nodded and continued, "I met your father there too and when he heard about the situation he decided to help".

"Help? Why would Dad?- no scratch that! How would Dad help us?"

"He decided to allow your plan to happen, with the Empires backing".

I sat there. Mouth gapping and mind blank as I processed his words.

That silly, risky plan... has now become a political move?... what...

"T-Then Lance will be?"-

"That's right. I don't like it at all. But He'll be the first human to live among the Brennus as a movement to bring humans and the Brennus together".

"But isn't that an even bigger risk?..." that could result in the Brennus being harmed by old folktales taken too seriously.

"That's why it'll be a secret movement for now".

This wasn't how I expected to get Lance somewhere safe. But it might just work. But how exactly would the Brennus react to a human child?

"Ruby. Do you think he'll be safe there?" I asked with a serious expression. Well... as serious as my chubby face could look anyway.

Ruby turned to me just then, his face matching mine in its seriousness, "if it's a request of the princes' saviour than all the Brennus will be welcoming. But".

There was a but?

"There's a condition".

Of course there is!

He turned away as if it was a bit embarrassing to say, "when you become an adult princess, which will be a long way from now. There will be a day when you have a coming of age ceremony after that you will have to spend sometime in Brennus".

What does that mean?

"Stay in Brennus? Why?" I asked but the boys face turned more red.

"I- I don't know! It's adult stuff so it's embarrassing!" He grabbed the tin of sweets and began eating them at an alarming rate. His face becoming less red as time went on.

Eventually he finished the box, all the while I speculated on his words.

Why would I need to spend time in Brennus? To create an alliance? I frowned.

I can't figure this out at all?!

"Oh whatever! I'm going to sleep" I dove under my blanket and relaxed against the soft and warmness with delight, paying no mind to the child who also seemed to doze off.

Morning light beamed down on my face irritatingly. I wanted to it leave yet I couldn't move away.

"Annoying" I groaned.

Suddenly the light seemed to leave. My face no longer burned and that surprised me enough to wake me up.

A beautiful Angel with lustrous lashes and glowing golden hair stared at me. Blue eyes staring deep into me like a wide ocean.

"A-Angel?" I groaned before I blinked and Lances face became more clear.

Oh... this is kinda embarrassing...

"Victor wants to play with you. And also... who is he?" I followed his pointed finger with blurry eyes and my eyes landed on a boy who I had never actually seen in broad daylight.

Ruby's black looked glossy in the sunlight and his skin seemed a bit healthier than it usually does in the darkness. It seemed like the journey had really tired him.

"Ignore him", I yawned, "he hasn't slept properly for a while".

Lance didn't seem to care much for it and just left.

Well... I best meet my big brother then.

Playing with Victor wasn't ever that boring. It wasn't like I had anything better to do for the most part, but today was different. Today it wasn't just us.

Mother had seemingly recovered from her episode and now watched us in the playroom with a smile that sent chills down my spine. I could feel her planning something. Like she usually did. And with how her beautiful green eyes rested on Lance I didn't feel too good about it.

Lance also felt her gaze. He stopped playing with Victor and met her straight on. He might be a child but he understood a lot, kind of like Jirael.
