Surprising encounter

It was morning and we had concluded on the preparations for the gala.We went back to the apartment Dove's fiancé prepared for our stay. We were so tired that somehow we all ended up in the lounge and fell asleep there. 

beep beep beep. The sound of the alarm. Argh. 

" Arghhhhhhh,Shut that thing off." Hannah mumbled

beep beep beep beep.

" Alyssie, please switch that thing off." Hannah grumbled 

" I can't. It is close to you." I said also in my half sleep state

Dove jolted awake and looked around in the room like a lost puppy with her half closed and droopy eyes. She went to the alarm and checked the time. 

" Ahhhh! It is morning already. We are late guys, wake up." Dove screamed 

" Huh? It is morning already? Time for the meeting?" I asked as I was forced to wake up thanks to Dove's shouting and the fact that she was hovering over me. 

"Hannah wake up!" Dove said

" What? Already? But we just got here." Hannah said with her eyes perfectly closed 

" Yes, genius. It was your idea to stay over and chat with Madam L after we finished, right? So you can not complain it is your fault that we only had 3 hours of sleep. Now, get up." Dove said as she moved to the couch where Hannah was sleeping.

" Nooooooo. Need more beauty sleep." Hannah said as she pulled a pillow like it was a blanket and covered her eyes. Dove ignored Hannah's protests and dragged her off the couch, Hannah did not comply and it looked like Dove was pulling a woman made of jelly because that is how powerless Hannah was. The situation was comical and my tiredness instantly disappeared. 

Dove's Fiancé told Dove that we could join them at the morning meeting and we did not have the hearts to decline the offer so we simply decided to tag along. This was very unexpected because we have never met this guy and yet he insisted that Dove's friends show up at the meeting. In any case, we are all going to the meeting that was initially arranged for Dove and her fiancé. 

" I will go up stairs to take a shower first." I said as I stood from my sleeping place which by the way was the floor. I slept on the carpet and I am glad that it summer because I would have been worried about catching a cold. 

"Alyssie, you can not leave me here with her!" Hannah whined 

" No,no, I will let you guys bond over whatever you are doing." I said with smile and bolted for the stairs ignoring Hannah's pleas. What a fun morning!

After all the chaos, we were all ready and set to go. When we arrived, Hannah was biting her nails, Dove was biting her lip and I did the same ( lip biting.). This showed, we were really nervous. 

" Hannah stop biting your nails." Dove said 

" I believe you should take your own advice." Hannah retorted

" I mean, why would you be nervous anyway. He is your fiancé." Hannah mumbled 

" That is not reason enough for me to not get nervous." Dove said as she exhaled heavily 

" I mean, I have been thinking, Why would he suddenly call me? I mean, we have not spoken in a long time. Do you think it is the rumors? You know maybe, he found out." Dove said nervously.

" No, do not get caught up in your thoughts. I doubt he did and if so, they are nothing but rumors so." Hannah said as she hugged Dove. 

Sigh, " Let us go in." I said. We walked into the building. We were so distracted because of the nervousness that I failed to notice the name of the building we just enterd. To say the building was sophisticated was an understatement, the atmosphere here rang 'I mean business' vibes. The was someone waiting for us just at the reception. 

" Good morning, I am .... Oh, Miss Dove. It is you guys." Eistiaan exclaimed as he smiled

" Yes. Did Dan not tell you that you would be escorting us again today?" Dove asked 

" No, young master simply told me to wait here and the people I am waiting for will come to the reception." Eistiaan said 

" Oh. Sorry for the trouble and thank you." Dove said 

" It is a pleasure miss. This way please." Eistiaan said and we followed him. Okay, so we knew that we were going to a meeting and we dressed up for it. Dove was wearing all black, high waist black pants with a black tight bottleneck top with a long black coat. Her hair was tied to the back in a low bun. Hannah was wearing a blue sleeveless body hugging dress with her coat in hand. Alyssa was wearing a baby blue suit making her outfit similar to Dove's outfit with the only difference being that Alyssa was wearing the blazer alone buttoned without a top inside and she had accessories while Dove did not.

Eistiaan entered the boardroom and announced our presence. The meeting had not yet started. Alyssa and the girls entered the boardroom and Alyssa's breath hitched however she quickly recovered and greeted the people present as she moved to her designated seat. ' What is going on?' She thought. 

Hannah gave Alyssa a small kick as if to ask her what was happening. Alyssa gave both her friends a small shrug because she was shocked by the turn of events as well. 

" Good morning. We are finished here. I had an emergency meeting with my business partners and so I asked them to squeeze in an hour before our meeting."Dan said to the girls 

" Oh, it is okay. We could have waited outside until you guys were done." Dove said politely

" No need, we are done." Dan said to Dove 

" Oh...alright." Dove said. 

Alyssa and Hannah exchanged looks mainly because Hannah looked over first. The look they gave each other screamed ' well, this is awkward'. Though this was not enough to distract them from their initial shock.

" Well, now that introductions have been over and done with. Let us start the meeting." Dan said to Alyssa's shock because she thought that his "guests" would leave the meeting room, they did not.

Dan's secretary walked up and started presenting a screen that made the girls's nightmare true. The slides she was presenting was the rumors the girls worked hard to bury! The secretary paused and then Dan said, " Why did you not say anything?"

Silence. The girls did not say a word. The atmosphere in the room was very scary and it somehow felt like the temperature of the room turned 3 units lower than what it was. Hannah wore her coat and shivered dramatically.

" You do not know how to talk anymore, jacket thief?" Someone spoke and Alyssa closed her eyes because she knew that these words were directed to her and it was none other than Calix who said those words. 

" What are you doing here?" Alyssa asked. She did not want Calix to be present in this room while they were discussing something like this 

" He is here on behalf of Areela." Dan answered instead of Calix

" I thought you said you had a business meeting before this?" Dove said 

" Yes, we were but then since I was here, there was no need for someone to fly all the way from Areela to this place for the meeting. I simply replace the representive from Areela since it would have been troublesome for him." Calix said

Hannah looked at both men and wondered why one answered the others' beloved. This was very amusing that she almost laughed forgetting the scare they gave her earlier.

" So are you going to answer my question?" Dan said now targetting Dove 

" Ahem...well, the situation has been handled already so there was no need for you to know." Dove said. 

" Really? Are you really saying that to your fiance?" Dan said 

Calix only smirked and said nothing.
