Girl proposed to the youngest surgeon.

" I am coming out." I said to Dr Evans who was on the other end of the phone call.He remained silent but I could hear his breathing. I did not end the call and got out of the photo booth with the phone close to my ear. 

" Where are you?"I spoke once again because I could not see him anywhere near the booth.

" Come to the parking area." He said in a montone. I thought he'd be close by.

" Are we going back?" I asked and I tried my best to not sound disappointed. 

" yes, I have something to sort out now." He said plainly.

" Oh then, it's alright. My friend will come and pick me up. You can go ahead, thank you." As soon as I finished saying this I ended the call. 

It was getting late but Alyssa found herself walking around aimlessly near the booth. Her thoughts were preoccupied with the fact that she planned on fixing everything between the two of them before going home. She wanted no regrets, she thought but now that would not happen because Dr Evans probably left and she was probably never going to see him again once she left the country. 

She observed all the people passing her with happy expressions from young children with their parents to lovers hand in hand and the urge to just cry intensified.

' I mean, what was I thinking? I did something wrong and I did not apologize so of course he would lose interest and leave. Besides how would I have fixed things between us when I do not even understand the situation myself? Sigh, perhaps I was just being delusional.' Alyssa berated herself. 

Sigh, she exhaled sharply.

" For a kid your age you sure sigh a lot." She heard a familiar voice say but she could not pinpoint who it was exactly so she turned around to see the old man ( whom she believed to be Prof Smit's father) who directed her to Dr Evans's office on her first day at Areela.

" So it was you, I thought my old eyes were mistaken they did not see the young lady I saw months ago. What are you doing here and all alone at that?" He said to Alyssa 

" Hello, sir." Alyssa said as she gave a bow, " I was with someone but something urgent came up so he left." 

" Oh, I see so that brat left you here alone, how rude!" He said."

" No, no. I told him that he could leave so he did nothing wrong please do not get it wrong." Alyssa said as she vigorously waved her hands in front of her to clear the misconception about Doctor Evans. She was the one in the wrong because she even ended the call before he could reply, so how could she let him take the blame?

" Oh, I see, I see." Laughed the old man " Still, It was wrong of him to leave despite you saying he could. I mean, it is getting late and you are alone and it can get dangerous very easily here." The old man added.

Alyssa laughed nervously and said, " Oh, I was supposed to call my friend to come fetch me but I thought I would give her some time since she might still be busy at the hospital." 

" You came here with your friends? That is beautiful, beautiful indeed." The old man said the added, " You can come with me then since your friend is still busy.

" Oh no thank you, I do not mind waiting, sir." Alyssa refused quickly

" I told you to call me Grandpa. I will pass by the hospital anyway so let's go, how can I leave a student from my institute here?" He said

" Alright then, thank you for your trouble," Alyssa said 

" Not at all. This way." He said as he laughed and directed Alyssa to the car. The car was not lavish but it had about five guards standing next to it and one of them rushed to the old man and said, " Master, why did you leave so suddenly without anyone with you? It is dangerous nowadays so please inform us before you leave next time." He said this in one breath looking very worried. 

The old man laughed and said, " I was just telling this young lady how dangerous it is in this country and you cemented my point." 

"Then if you know, why did you leave all alone?" The guard asked.

" Because you slow pokes keep slowing me down." He said in a dismissive tone while waving his hand, " Please show the young lady to the car." he said to him

" Hello, I am the captain of this squad." He said as he pointed at the 4 other guards standing next to the old man's car. 

"Please follow me." He said again to Alyssa.

They all got in the car and left the amusement park. Though there were some thoughts bothering Alyssa like why did the old man come to the amusement park? was it truly a coincidence? And what happened to Dr Evans, did he just leave after their call? Did he send the old man? Nah, that is impossible, why would he do that? Alyssa thought to herself.

Alyssa was not paying attention to the route of the car so she did not realize that they passed the highway to the hospital and entered a very exotic and high-class neighborhood. After a few houses, the car came to a halt in front of an enormous, humongous breathtaking mansion. The view finally made Alyssa snap out of her thoughts.

" Sir...I mean Grandpa, where are we?" Alyssa asked 

" Oh, I apologize. I forgot to mention that I wanted to make one stop before dropping you off if that is okay with you?" The old man laughed suspiciously 

" It is okay, I will wait here," said Alyssa as she offered a radiant smile. 

'She looks so pure and naive. How could such a nice girl fall in Master Calix's trap? sigh' The captain of the guards thought to himself.

" No, you can come with me. It gets to be all stuffy in the car, this old man can not let you go through that. Come, let's go inside together." The old man said.

They both got out of the car and went inside the premises. The mansion up close was stunning with rosebeds near the entrance giving off a beautiful scent rose scent as you go up the stairs to the door.

" Welcome, master." Said one of the workers at the door who opened the door for them. 

" Thank you, Jammie." Said the old man as he entered the mansion with Alyssa following behind. 

" Grandpa!" Someone shouted and to Alyssa's surprise it was no other than Adian.

" Addie, come give this old man a hug." The old man said as though he was talking to a kindergarten child. Strange enough, Adian played along. 

" you will really never grow up." Jason who came out of a passage said 

" Shut up," Adian said then noticed Alyssa

" Alyssie, did you come here for me? I am so touched." He said as he wiped off fake tears. 

"Pardon? I came here because Grandpa had to make a stop before dropping me off at the hospital." Alyssa responded to the overly dramatic Adian.

" Huh? What stop? Grandpa?" Aidan asked 

" Do not worry about it champ." The old man replied with a wink.

" What are you planning Grandpa?" Jason asked the old man.

" Nothing, how can you suspect an old man like me?" the old man said in a defensive tone

" I was simply asking, you being all defensive means that you are planning something, old man," Jason said

" You brat, are you my biological grandson?!" The old man replied

" Unfortunately," Jason responded.

" You..." Before the old man could finish his sentence, someone announced 

" Young Master Lion (prof Smit) and Master Calix are here." 

' What? Calix?' Alyssa thought, ' The same Calix as in Dr Evans?' In panic, she turned to Aidan and said, " Excuse me, may I use the rest room please?" 

" Of course, go up the stairs to the third floor, turn to the left passage, go through the first door pass the bedroom suite, and go to the door behind it." The old man replied instead of Adian 

" Okay, thank you," Alyssa said

" wait but that is..." Adian could not finish his sentence when the old man said, " Let the lady go, Addie." 

' Cunning old man, he is purposely setting her up.' Jason thought 

" Do tell me if you get lost, okay?" Shouted the old man as Alyssa left.

Alyssa followed the instructions and oddly enough she did not get lost like she thought she was. The announcement earlier made her realize that she had not rinsed her mouth after throwing up and the sour taste returned at the mention of Dr Evans's name.

She opened the door to exit the bathroom connected to a bedroom and saw a shirtless Calix standing in the middle of the room. 

* gasp* Alyssa gasped while covering her mouth and she immediately turned around to go back into the bathroom. 

" Stop." Commanded Calix

Alyssa froze. Calix made his way to her slowly. His movements were somehow amplified in Alyssa's ears because she could hear every footstep each time his slippers touched the floor. 

He was getting closer and closer and closer. Then he suddenly stopped. He was a short distance from where Alyssa was standing.

" What are you doing in my room?" He asked coldly like Alyssa had done the most heinous crime in the world. He was currently the opposite of how he was earlier with her at the amusement park. His body radiated a very cold aura and Alyssa found it suffocating to be in the same room as him. Was he angry because of what happened earlier? Or was it because he felt that Alyssa invaded his space and entered his room? 

' wait...his room? His room! Why did Grandpa direct me to a bathroom connected to Dr Evans's bedroom? Ugh, please let the Earth open up and bury me!' Alyssa thought to herself as she finally realized the gravity of the situation.

" Did he send you in here? the old man, I mean." He said. Alyssa did not say a word. 

" If you do not answer, I will take that as a yes. It is about time I spoke to him and maybe I should fire him for overstepping." He added in a monotone. 

' Fire him? Who? grandpa? Does he work for Dr Evans? What is going on?' Alyssa's mind was a mess. 

"No! I asked him for the directions." Alyssa said quickly 

" Ahem, there is something I wanted to ask you," Alyssa said in panic as she searched her thoughts promptly to find something to say. 

" What is it that you had to say so bad that you decided to enter my room?" He said maintaining his cold demeanor.

Silence. Alyssa could not find anything to discuss with the doctor.

" Well?" Are you gonna speak or not?" He said. Alyssa found this side of him very intimidating and she was worried that this might ruin their relationship so she prayed that she would have something to say, anything at all. 

" Let's get married," Alyssa said before she could stop herself and then covered her mouth quickly after she realized what she had said.
