Frog prince and stepmom

We sat there in silence I could see that my friends were seething because it was what it was, simply put attempted murder. The issue with all of this is that we felt creeped out by it because we did not know them but they knew us and they knew where to find us or me in particular. As annoying as this was, I had to seek help from someone, someone has enough power to shake the world without alerting even an ant, someone who would not run to my family and tell them. 

" Hannah, I can not think with you pacing around." Dove said to Hannah clearly frustated because she too could not find an alternative solution for the issue, one that would not involve the "someone" I mentioned above. 

" Sorry D." Hannah said as she plumped down onto the carpet.

" I have been thinking guys and honestly, there is no way out of this without asking for help. It is too dangerous." Hannah said 

" Yeah but the help you are referring to are the same men who wanted us to clear the suing case we opened against that student from Areela, you know the leader of Dr Evans' groupie," Dove said 

" Yeah, but we spoke about this already and Alyssie you admitted too, you do not want your family, especially your dad to find out about this, right?" Hannah said 

" that is right. That is why I told you guys to leave the matter alone. I will try to come up with something." I said 

" No! We will help you." Dove said while ferociously typing something on her PC 

She paused and said, " Alyssie,this is not the time to roll down and play dead. These people went as far as attempting murder." There it was, she said it.

The room went silent.

We all stared at each other as it dawned to us that we all avoided those words ever since I recieved that text 2 hours ago. We have been avoiding to admit that it was attempted murder, the idea scared us that we took it by the end and pulled the issue around and got mad over it but never had the courage to label it as attempted murder. 

" Sigh, let's face it guys, we do not have the right connections to solve this on our own and if our families find out, We will be in deep trouble." Hannah said as she blew away a strand of hair in her face out of frustation. 

" I will probably be confined for the rest of my life then my step mom will find me a frog prince to marry." Hannah added as she sulked.

We all paused. Dove and I looked at her before we all burst out laughing. 

" Like I can see the last part happening." I said laughing 

" Yeah but with a single kiss from you he will turn to be a handsome young fellow." Dove said with a wink and that was killer because I stopped being a lady for a minute and rolled on the carpet laughing, my mentor would defintely disapprove of this.

" Do not add salt to my wounds D! And do not mock my believe in fairy tales!" Hannah retorted 

" I am not mocking you. I am helping you affirm your believe in them." Dove said and I promise she would have grown a long nose for her lies right then and there but she did not stop there. 

" Then your stepmom's true colors would be seen by the world and you and frog prince would travel on a magic carpet and fly far far away to live a happily ever after life." Dove said continuing to tease Hannah 

" Arghhhh!! you still remember that! I was in middle school when I had that dream, okay?" Hannah said covering her eyes remembering the day she told her classmates and the teacher about the dream she had of her and her true flying away to an exotic island on a magic carpet.

" Besides, the teacher was the one who asked us about what we dreamt of the day before. As a young innocent little girl, how could I have lied?!" Hannah said in her defence 

" Yeah and I like the part were your true love gave you a pink little piggie for a promise ring." I said because that was the part I remembered most and it was the part of her life that I would share with the guests on her wedding day. 

" Oh no you did not!" Hannah said to as she narrowed her eyes and ran upstairs. 

" Huh? where she is going?" Dove asked as she opened her eyes after all the laughing 

" I don't know." I said still suffering from a laughing fit that immediately stopped when I saw Hannah appearing at the top of the stairs again. 

A shiver ran down my spine. 

" Did it just get colder in here?" Dove asked me 

" What? No." I said 

" Then why did I get goosebumps." She said

" You felt them too?" I asked then said, " Scratch that, Dove run!" 

I stood up as quick as I could and ran. Dove was fumbling and a little confused over why I said that and noticed a little late that Hannah had a tickling feather in her hand. I bet she tried to escape too but she was caught because I could hear her laughing and begging for mercy as I tried to find a place to hide. 

I don't know how long it took but the house was now silent. This was not a good sign because it meant that they probably struck a deal and knowing Dove, she probably threw me under the bus to save herself. I was right! Hannah found me and it was thanks to Dove who was now sitting with some popcorn watching me being tortured by Hannah. I laughed until I could not and eventually begged for mercy. Hannah was our tickling master none of us could defeat her so we always avoided competitions that involved tickling because she would take the both of us on and still win like it was nothing. 

" Okay, okay. I ... I --I am sorry. I-I won't say that again" I said while so out of breath. 

" Do you promise?" Hannah asked 

" Mhmm, I do." I said with a sigh of relief as she moved away from me.

" Oh? I thought that was the story you were going to share at her wedding?" Dove said with an evil smirk.

" What?!" Hannah shrieked as she approached me again 

" She is lying. I promise she is lying!" I screamed as I backed away from her. 

" I don't believe you." She said approaching me in slow footsteps.

" Come on, D! Say something!" I urged Dove to help me 

" We are back." She said 

" What?" Hannah and I asked as we paused 

" The connection with the cyber field is back. Let's track the address of the person who sent you that message." She said 

" Alright." Hannah and I said simultaneously completely forgetting that we were prey and predator earlier on. 

" By the way this is not over." Hannah said as she turned to look at me and used her fingers to do that ' I am watching you' sign. 

Sigh, I almost escaped...almost.
