I know that my end is near because of the flames around me and the pain coursing through my body. Pain is not a new thing to me as I bear too much of it to reach my stage being hailed as one of the strongest humans

But on the other hand, with these cuts, injuries on my body and surrounded by a black flame, I look like a turkey cut and sliced to burn in the charcoal flame, aren't I? Meanwhile, guardians are looking at me with hungry eyes waiting for me to be cooked more thoroughly.

Ha..... haha (sarcastic chuckle)... Oh, Suman what a poor sod you are, Looks like I bear so much pain and struggle with as much hard work all my life only to become a roasted turkey for Thanksgiving Day in front of others.

Noooooo... what am I thinking. Think positive Suman, think positive, Right!! I am someone who saved the whole humanity from either slavery or extinction, aren't I? Yes, I did a great deed and I am going to heaven.

... No, if what I got from the memories of the origin tree are right, I just thwarted a puny infiltration attack. It's far from over.

While I am thinking all this, l suddenly felt like a bottle of cold water is dumped on my head... No, it's not just my feeling the sticky fluid flowing down my head and the chill... Wait I am even feeling a predatory gaze with chills passing down my spine which I am very sensitive due to my years of life and death experiences, did I by any chance went to hell (the famous 9th level of icy hell lol.. )

Maybe because of the transformation from flames to chill my weak body regained some energy alleviating some of my powerlessness. Even though feeling sleepy, I tried to open my eyes only to see an angry face of a beautiful woman with a slightly flushed face filled with anger with an empty bottle in her hand shouting "Mr. Suman have you had enough sleep or should I bring you a blanket to sleep!"

Seeing the scene in front of me I was hit with a strange sense of déjà vu like I am reliving the same scene a second time then, a thought hit me like the brightest of the lightning in the darkest of the storms, isn't this scenario the legendary time travel to past and the second chance in web novels? I smiled like an idiot thinking that but what I got as a reply was another shout from a more flushed and more beautiful face "what are you laughing for, does my chemistry class sounds like a lullaby to you?".

Then I looked at my surrounding and recollected my past memories along with the time of my arrival, at most maybe one month before the E-day. Then I have many things to prepare for and I have to acquire the artifact used to kill the origin tree that collects the flames of death and anguish. While organizing my thoughts, I was doused out of them by the numerous odd looks from my classmates around me and especially madam Susan, only daughter of college director but none know about it now, joined our college as a lecturer right after graduating with masters in Biochem from a prestigious university, hailed as top beauty of our college and secret crush for many students, is now glaring at me.

While watching the cutely flushed face I remembered an incident in the near future where me and my friends prepared a list of regrets in our rest time after fighting a mutated bear and especially a particular regret at that, then I flitted my eyes left and right suddenly stretched my hand to grab a half-eaten biscuit packet from my best friend's bag, came out of the bench and half kneeled in front of her saying "Madam Susan I love you soo much"

Then the room temperature suddenly decreased by a couple of degrees and dozens of bloodthirsty eyes are focused on me. Madam Susan's face is now flushed crimson red with both anger and embarrassment looking alternatively to me, biscuit packet in my hand and my friend who is secretly snacking in her class respectively and shouted pointing at us, "you... Both of you get out of my class right now".

I took my bag and walked out of the room along with my friend 'Razik Basha' who is glaring daggers at me, "now you have done it. You just made all the beasts in the class our enemies. So? What's the big plan "asked Razik

" I don't know what you mean by that, " I said with a mischievous smile and watched the date on my phone 12th November 2018, there is still one and half months left till E-day, so I started organizing my thoughts and upcoming events

" come on now out with it, if I knew one thing about you in the last decade of our friendship you are too lazy to move your ass unless you are scheming something " replied Razik.

I thought for a moment and said, " aren't you planning on South Indian tour in the semester end holidays? Why don't we go to the North tour, I will bear the extra expenses"?

" don't change the topic... Wait..... What you said just now, is it true?" he suddenly became happy but suddenly asked with a frown on his forehead," so, what's the catch?

I said with two fingers outstretched, "two conditions, one - we should be passing through Kasi city in our tour and I know you want to spend the new year in Delhi so we camp in 'Manasarovar' on 28th December 2018 after that we can go back to Delhi"

"why Kasi, isn't it a place where old people go in their pilgrimage?" asked Razik but I just gave a stare saying no comments then he asked, "OK what is the second one?"

"cover me this month in college, I am going to be absent until the tour and if my parents call you just cover me on that end too, " I said to Razik.

"Alright, it's not like you're skipping the college for the first time but what are you going to do for a whole month?" he asked

Then I just gave him a simple smile and turned around to get out of the college but my face is not smiling anymore, he doesn't know there will be no new year to celebrate after 28th, the E-day.

After coming out of the college gate I unclenched my fists and looked at the smooth skin on my palms. I was just a 20 years old juvenile living a normal life in South India back when hit by E-day, but not this time I will be prepared.

After that a fast and tiring month passed on until the date of our tour.

Southern California Earthquake Centre (SCEC)

An assistant technician ran hurriedly to the office of department head of earthquake research shouting, "DEP.HEAD Jonathan our supercomputer predicted major movements in tectonic plates in the ocean bed of central Pacific ".

Jonathan frowned a little and asked, "Is it related to the same anomaly we have been studying? " I know what he is talking about but I just wanted him to say no.

"Yes sir," the assistant replied destroying my daydreams.

This is the biggest anomaly recorded in the last century or maybe all of human history as there is no device to record this type of anomaly in the past. It was first recorded in the satellite launched by Russia in 2017 (for international climatic and geological research funded by many major countries), a month ago on 12th November 2018. At first, it is just a small seismic fluctuation but rather than bursting out, as usual, kept on increasing its scale day by day creating resonance with tectonic plates on ocean bed in central Pacific.

"What will be the scale of the earthquake and the affected regions?" asked Jonathan.

"By the estimates of our supercomputer, it is at least 9.0 or more on the Richter Scale and the islands nearer to central Pacific like Hawaii and the Line Islands will have major impact, on America from north to south all coastal areas will receive Tsunami attacks and on easternmost side Chinese coastal areas on northeast to New Zealand on southeast will also be affected by major quakes, " replied the assistant.

"sigh..., " Jonathan knew this is going to be a big issue and create mass panic in international waters of Pacific, "Send the reports to UNO, Japan, China, and all the affected countries, higher-ups will do what they have to" ordered Jonathan.
