Chapter 4- Engagement Party (2)

"Can you please remove the veil, I wanna see your beautiful eyes." Prince Oscar said and Abi blushed a little bit she stopped when she recalled that she wasn't the Princess. She was a nobody just Abigail Hunter.

"Uh... I rather not" Abi said shyly. "I doesn't matter." Prince Oscar said then he brought out an engagement ring from his pocket and knelt one knee down. "Since college, I've told you how much I liked you and I'm glad that this day has come. Will you marry me Princess?" He asked looking into her invisible eyes. Abi became speechless, she knew what to say. she was supposed to saw yes but this was her chance to be free by saying no. she looked around the ball room and saw Mary from the back giving her a thumbs up. "You can do this." Mary mouthed to her and she turned to Oscar still staring at her. She stretched her hand to him

"Yes" Abi said and everyone clapped and cheered as he wore her the diamond ring. she looked at the expensive ring. her salary for 3 years can't even afford the ring. Oscar kissed her hand before standing up and hugged her but she remained stiff. she didn't move until he pulled away then the king and queen came to her.

"Congratulations honey." The queen said happily. she was even more happy than the celebrant. "You can now remove the veil. it's over." The queen said.

"No! I mean.... uh... I don't want to. can I go to my room now? I'm tired." Abi said looking for an excuse to leave the party.

"Not now. Just stay for few more minutes okay?" The queen kissed her forehead and she nodded.

Abi ended up staying till the party was over then she went back to her room while panting heavily, she locked the door and removed her veil, she stared at herself in the mirror for a long while not realizing when she started crying. She was the complete opposite of the Princess. Princess Izabelle was strong and she rarely ever cries but Abi was a cry baby.

Abi removed the Diamond ring and threw it on the floor then she went to the bathroom to take a shower.

Princess Izabelle was having dinner with Mrs. Cynthia that is Mary's mother. after which she went back to the room and slept. Mrs. Cynthia also went to her room to answer an important call from her boss.

"Tommorow, she'll be there." Mrs. Cynthia said "she better be there. You Know where to keep her right?" The male voice said "Yes sir." she answered and he hung up.

There was a knock on Abi's door where le she was still asleep. she opened her eyes and went to the door almost about to open it when she remembered she was Abi not the Princess. she started panicking thinking of what to do when the person knocking finally spoke.

"Abi, it's me Mary." The voice said and she breath out a sigh of relief before opening the door and Mary came in. they both sat on the bed.

"This isn't working Mary. what if the queen or king needs to see me? I can't wear a veil forever." Abi complained "Don't worry. I called my mom and she said Iza will be leaving tomorrow so, it's just tonight you have to pretend." Mary said and Abi smiled a bit. "They are preparing for a dinner party for the two family members. You need to be there but I'll tell them you're not feeling well so, get some sleep, I'll bring some food for you." Mary said and Abi nodded.
