"You're too extreme with your teachings, and it doesn't work well with our school's reputation, Glenn. I expected much better from you after looking at your resume." A stubby man said, looking up towards Glenn.

"Listen, I told you... I'll teach the kids better but just give me some more time before you complain about how I do it. History is complicated and only makes sense if you start at the beginning of it all."

"You've been saying that for months Glenn, I can't rely on you anymore because if those students keep failing, our school's reputation drops! You need to prepare them for tests, not prepare them for becoming historians!" He retorted, his face flushed red with anger. He wasn't entirely wrong but, before Glenn could speak, a loud earthquake boom sounded and his surroundings shattered like glass before turning to complete darkness.

Glenn felt nothing and thought nothing of it and merely floated amongst the seemingly infinite void. Time seamlessly passed...or rewound? until the darkness started to fade away into blurred colors and Glenn started to feel again, his consciousness had returned.

When Glenn opened his eyes he gasped for air with thoughts racing through his head confused about what just happened and where he currently was. Everything was still a blur but he heard voices around him sounding like grunts. Suddenly he was picked up and moved around before being grabbed back by a guttural voice that sounded like it belonged to a woman.

Glenn finally could see a little and he saw the woman holding him, she looked like a crackhead but had a strange charm to her. After his sight wasn't so blurry he looked at his surroundings noticing he was in a cave full of stocky and ugly sweaty men and slowly added it all up. He figured it out but didn't wanna admit it.

He had heard of time travel, but never thought it was actually possible. The men around him were dressed in animal skins and carrying primitive weapons. Glenn realized that he was in the early stages of human civilization.

He tried to remember everything he knew about this era from his history classes, but he couldn't come up with anything, there's basically nothing about this era in modern textbooks.

Glenn's heart raced at the whole situation. He realized he had to find a way to communicate with these people and find out more about their way of life, but, well, at the moment he is just a newborn and isn't even sure if this is reality or not.

But Glenn wasn't so stupid to try pinching himself, his survival instinct kicked in and he knew that he had to start adapting quickly if he wanted to survive.

As he looked at the people around him, he suddenly heard loud whistling from many sources. It was other cavemen looking to get some "free" food from this small group. Glenn knew he was respectfully fucked.

They came rushing in and started beating all of them with sticks and rocks, their eyes bloodshot and starving for food, they mercilessly struck Glenn's group. Glenn stared at them and was devastated, he knew this was the end to his not so joyful regression. He was thrown during the struggle carelessly by his mother, and before he could even curse her in his head, he was rudely stomped on the head by one of the outside cavemen and met his end there. The shattering began.
